Off the coast of Perros-Guirec, there is a small archipelago, a real paradise for birds. It was in fact on the Sept-Iles archipelago that the first private ornithological reserve in France was created in 1912, following a major puffin massacre. It was urgent to protect this species against poaching and leisure hunting, which were decimating entire colonies. Today, puffins, cormorants, gannets and even grey seals live happily on the archipelago. If you wish to discover the seabirds in their environment, we suggest you choose a hotel opposite the Sept-Iles, along the Pink Granite Coast. You can moor at Ile aux Moines, the only one accessible to the public, and discover the fort built under Louis XV. Only two lighthouse keepers reside on the archipelago in order to offer maximum peace and quiet to the birds and it is therefore from the boat that you will recognise the torda penguins, the seagulls and the gulls, which accompany you in a deafening concert of cries and wing beats.
