In a few years, the young chief Renaud Darmanin became the main attraction of this small village in the heart of Cantal, and further away from the department. A notoriety and a success deserved by gourmets because the man has an obvious talent that explodes with each dish. This native of northern Auvergne, who works with his wife from the neighbouring village, has been a passionate cook since his early childhood. Even today, he still retains all his vigour and his desire to do well. He works on a cuisine focused on his region but often scattered with scents from elsewhere. His network of suppliers, his vegetable garden, his friends, provide him with the best of this rich region and he admirably knows how to restore its tastes. A cuisine thought out, built, gourmet, thanks to his technique and enthusiasm. A bright future lies ahead of him, but it is now that we must discover it. At her side, the new sommelier Sophie Jammet, a Burgundian woman, has redesigned and developed the wine list to open it up to new appellations and new winegrowers. Everything is going well in this beautiful inn.

An essential stop in the Cantal region, comfort, gastronomy and professionalism at every level, a delight!
The Auberge has been tastefully restored, both architecturally and décor-wise. This alone is worth a trip, or rather a detour!

This is a remarkable inn in a remarkable village. I always particularly appreciate the welcome, whether at reception or in the restaurant, where I am pleased to meet the sommelier Jean-Michel and the Chef. I was also very well looked after by the maître d'hôtel. Let's not even talk about the meal which was a delight, with variety and audacity (I wonder where the Chef gets all his ideas), including the pastries, with such lightness, which is rare, whether at dinner or breakfast. Bravo to the whole team. I'll be back soon.

Exceptional restaurant, optimal comfort and service
A very good time spent in this establishment.
Overall, a very good hotel, but there are a few areas that could be improved quickly given the price, especially compared to other establishments in the same range. Positive points: • The reception staff were very friendly, professional, and helpful. • The room was comfortable, spacious, and tastefully decorated. • The hotel has charm and a certain authenticity. Points to review: • The air conditioning was much too noisy and ineffective. For a room in this range, this is a real weak point. • The breakfast lacks variety, especially the sweet items. At €25, you would expect a more comprehensive buffet; other smaller hotels offer much better options for less. • Some breakfast choices were extra, such as a simple waffle for €5: this is the first time I have seen this. • The vehicle charging station is charged €11. This price is acceptable for a 100% electric vehicle, but it is completely disproportionate for a hybrid car. In other establishments, it costs around €3, or it's billed based on consumption (kWh or time), which would be much fairer. The hotel remains a nice place, but some details need to be reviewed to live up to its prices. We had a good stay despite these areas for improvement.

An “experience” Evening Stopover in a MICHELIN-listed Restaurant. A great moment of flavors experienced! Only one small downside due to the very high heat, air conditioning in the rooms would be a plus. But it is true, we have reached exceptional temperature levels, but unfortunately this is likely to happen again in the future...
