Small hotel close to the center, pleasant staff, but avoid room 1 because on the way through, the bathroom is really shabby and the room is poorly ventilated. Overnight stay with ready-made preserves, quick and efficient. Good breakfast, in short, you won't spend your vacation there, but it's a good hotel for a short stay.

An address to remember for a next stop: very friendly and helpful staff; very decent rooms; pleasant surprise for the meal in "jars" very good at an interesting price; motorcycle garage much appreciated! We will return in season to enjoy the swimming pool.

Our in-car satnav had some difficulty taking us to the hotel. We reverted to Google Maps which was better.
It was a considerable relief that the the hotel was able to provide a meal (pre-cooked and microwaved) on our arrival after a long drive.

Perfect for a one-night stopover. The room is comfortable. The selection of partner restaurants is excellent. The breakfast is generous and high-quality.

Good stay. Very pleasant setting, reasonably priced hotel not too far from the city center (10 minutes from the train station), very pleasant rooms and staff. The only downside was the bathroom with yellowed grout and barely warm water (when you turn the hot water on full blast) for the evening shower.

The hotel is about a 20-minute walk from the center in a quiet area. The room, on the first floor above the pool, was quiet, a bit small, but had more or less everything you need. The bed was large and very comfortable. The bathroom was large but a bit dated, with a bathtub that could be used as a shower. There was carpeting.

2 points that I did not like, - the evening stopovers are done through partners and you have to walk quite far. - parking is very complicated.

The only negative is lack of elevator. We had to drag suitcases up two flights of stairs.

Pleasant welcome. We particularly appreciated the calm. No traffic noise. Velux windows equipped with interior and exterior blinds which provide ideal darkness for sleeping well. Close to the Arena Reims and the city center, 15/20 minutes on foot. Thank you all for this pleasant experience.

A very friendly welcome. Due to the hotel's location (neighborhood), I had some reservations upon arrival, but those were completely unfounded. A secure parking garage was perfect for our car, including bikes on the rack. The room was recently renovated, neat and clean, and included a small refrigerator and kettle. The surrounding area was also quiet (quieter than the countryside where we stayed before). A comfortable 20-minute walk to the city center. Breakfast was excellent, thoughtfully and cheerfully prepared. For us, a perfect base for exploring Reims.

We had a medium sized clean room and bathroom with access to pool and small garden. The breakfast was excellent with some of the best croissants we have ever eaten in France.

I booked based on reviews that rated it as an excellent hotel. Instead, I found a property with run-down rooms and a bad sewer smell. For breakfast, I had to leave the property and go to the one across the street. The breakfast was poor. My only positive aspect was the very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Everything else needs fixing.

Nice hotel. Booked based on trip advisor reviews. A bit of a walk into Reims - 20-25 minutes. Didn’t worry us and we knew this on booking. Quiet area. We booked parking which was under cover. Helpful guy on reception. Didn’t take his name. Bed was comfy. Room very clean and well appointed.

The hotel was welll located just a 1km walk to the centre.
We had a nice room with comfortable bed, air conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities and a bath in the bathroom.
There was a pool (which we didn’t use) which was kept v clean by a robot cleaner. We paid a small (10e?) extra for secure parking although there was sufficient free parking in front of the building.
Breakfast was good (continental not full English but when in France….!)
All good, can thoroughly recommend and will stay again when we are in the area for the planned Champagne tour!

Friendly welcome, beautiful heated pool, super pleasant when you arrive by motorbike and it's hot. You can even have an aperitif there. Not very far from the center by bus (3 stops) or on foot 15-20 min. The main square is very touristy but in the small adjacent streets, there are nice little restaurants. Highly recommended

Room B32 had a broken toilet seat. Disappointed there were no hand towels, only bath towels. Paper cups to drink hot drinks from is not ideal, would have lived crock cups.

The welcome was friendly, the hotel was very clean, and it was nice to have a pool. We didn't use it, but there were plenty of other guests. The beds were comfortable, and we slept well. Due to the hotel's layout, the sounds resonate quite strongly, which bothered us quite a bit. Guests were also talking loudly late at night, which I don't really understand in an overnight hotel, since people are often traveling and get up early. The neighborhood where the hotel is located is somewhat shabby. Parking in a closed-off space is convenient, in a kind of hall with a large sliding door. This is a one-minute walk from the hotel. We stayed in room 2, downstairs. These rooms are located on a sort of gallery, a closed-off hallway with large windows, which directly borders the pool. There's one window in the room that can be opened, but you open it into a hallway, so you hear everything. The hallway does have windows that open to the outside, but you don't get direct fresh air. The bathroom has a rain shower and hairdryer. The extractor fan wasn't working, so we turned on the air conditioning, which works fine. Room (2p) is very small, approximately 12m2.

Extra badlakens voor het zwembad. Voldoende parkeerruimte en goede voorzieningen voor de fietsen. Uitgebreid ontbijt met vers fruit, diverse broodsoorten en beleg. Perfecte locatie voor doorreizen maar ook voor de omgeving te bezoeken. Wij hebben prachtige fietstocht gemaakt in de groene corridor van Reims en champagne gedronken tegenover de Notre Dame.

This hotel is a great option for a stay in Reims. We needed somewhere withcar parking & this was a great option. Its a locally based hotel 20 mins walk from city centre - so best of both worlds. Facilities are great - the gatden terrace, pool and breakfast options are great .
The only downside was the decor in pur room was a little tired but it did not impact on pur comfort or enjoyment.

The most appreciable thing for me was the quietness of the establishment, located in a slightly out-of-the-way neighborhood of Reims, with little car traffic. The room had everything necessary, the bedding was good, and the breakfast was satisfactory.

Very nice to come in different buildings, which together make this hotel. Parking was fine and the electric charging went smoothly. Too bad they could not tell how the bus line went. In the end we figured it out ourselves.

It is a simple but good hotel. The hotel is located in a residential area outside the center. For us too far to walk to the center but we parked for a few hours in the middle of the center for 6 euros. The room (no. 3) was small and simple but everything is there. Air conditioning, safe, wide bed, rain shower and hand shower. We could park the car in a garage for 8 euros. The breakfast was good. Cold cuts, cheese, eggs, etc. and on arrival you could indicate how much pain au chocolat and / or croissants you wanted and they were of good quality. There is even a small swimming pool but that was still closed at the beginning of May.

The Hotel Au Tambour offers rooms with an excellent quality/price ratio. The breakfast (petit dejeuner) is something absolutely not to be missed. To all this, we must add the Consierge Mr Lucke who will solve every problem by making his high professionalism available. A kind and good person who will make you feel not as guests but as if you were at home.

An overnight stop before returning to the UK. Hôtel was easy to find using SatNav - travelling with our dog which was no problem at all. Booked secure parking which was excellent. Drove into the centre of Reims in the evening around 6.45 pm - parked (free!) and visited the Cathedral - spectacular! Reception was friendly and very helpful. Room was very clean, well decorated and had more than we needed for an overnight stay - even BBC News channel on the TV! Breakfast was help yourself buffet style - lots of choice (even scrambled egg and bacon) and all excellent quality. The staff were very friendly, helpful and checked that we had everything we wanted. Overall it was an excellent stay - well done to all involved - would definitely return to this one.

We are satisfied, the only thing is the location of breakfast, you have to go out and cross the street, in summer it may be good but not in winter.

Great little hotel with very friendly staff, the room was super clean and although a little small it was tastefully furnished and plenty big enough for a couple of nights stay. We had to skip breakfast but grabbed a lovely croissant and reluctantly left the warm dining area with lovely breakfast smells. The garage is 1 building down the street and perfectly secure, we left our car full of Christmas gifts with no worries at all. Value for money was amazing, thanks, I would stay again and recommend the hotel to travellers.

A very warm welcome, a very clean and comfortable room. The meal can be served on site or you can go to a nearby brasserie very good. The area is quiet 20 minutes walk from the city center. Breakfast is to be taken at the edge of the bay window overlooking the small garden, it is very pleasant. We had a very pleasant stay.

We arrived earlier than we expected, no issues they said the room was ready and we could go over to our room we have our dog travelling with us . There's not many restaurants in the area so we had to go to Reims in the evening. We had issues with the dog only with using local transport they have to be able to be carried in a bag, she to big so we either drove or walked. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would the same and we use again.

Excellent welcome in this well located and very pleasant hotel. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The perfect bed. Several windows in the room and one in the bathroom. A kettle, a microwave, a small fridge practical in case of need. Everything is done to feel good. You can park your car in the hotel garage but spaces are available outside. You can easily visit the historic center of Reims on foot. There are many shops and restaurants.

Heel mooie en propere kamer. Het enige wat we eventueel zouden aanpassen is een kapstok in de inkom van de kamer voor de jassen. In de badkamer zou een trekker voor het water niet slecht zijn. Aangezien de kamer toegankelijk is voor mensen in een rolstoel (wat een pluspunt is…) is er geen wand aan de douche wat er voor zorgt dat de badkamer redelijk nat ligt na gebruik.
Ontbijt is top! Ruim aanbod en meer dan voldoende.

Quality is more than Okay, but one has to realize you are in a city. When taken this into account it was very good. Quiet, complete, tidy, new bathroom, good breakfast.

The staff are very warm and welcoming and helped me out with my poor French.
Firstly as a biker there is a large secure garage for motorbikes (and cars) which only costs an extra €10, well worth it for peace of mind.
The rooms are a good size, feel modern with everything you need and the beds are comfortable.
Breakfast was pretty substantial, with a large choice of food.

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel, which consists of 3 units (A, B, C), across the street, the garage is also separate, a few meters away. Our room in block B, upper floor, was old, but adequate for the conditions. Unfortunately, the fan in the bathroom ran 24 hours a day x 7 x 365 (estimated), which in our opinion is not only energy-intensive, but also dangerous. The breakfast was good. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Very quiet. Very comfortable room. Very friendly and attentive staff. Tiny downside: the bathroom in the room we were in could do with a little "refreshing". Another thing to know: the staircase in the annex building (the one where reception is not) is steep and difficult to climb when, like us, you have knee problems. In this case, plan to ask for a room on the ground floor or 1st floor when booking.

First stay and had not realised the hotel was spread over a number of buildings. Not a problem but in Room 17 in Block A we had a street behind us and were woken up at 5.00 by some noisy people who didn't seem to think anyone might be disturbed. Would not stay in this row of rooms again because of this. Other blocks seemed quieter.

This was just a stopping hotel we used as we were traveling from Bournemouth England to Nice. We were so pleased with the room. It was large, had a kitchenette, Aircon, Automatic shutters, Clean and spacious. The staff were wonderful and even invted us in for a coffee early in the morning before we set off for our journey. We will definitely stay again.

We were in building C: brand new! And very well thought out! Small kitchenette, with everything you need, small welcome basket with freeze-dried coffee and decaf sachets, tea and infusion sachets, milk capsules and small pancakes... super nice.. Perfect mattresses, pillows, sheets. Air conditioning. No noise in the street or in the building.. Friendly people at reception... 5 stars because everything was perfect! (10 minutes from the station... we left our vehicle in their garage and were able to do everything on foot: Gallo-Roman gate, cathedral, St Remy basilica, Martel cellar, Taittinger, Pommery and Maison Demoiselle... we walked a lot (the pedometer confirmed it!!) but it was nice!)

The hotel is located in a part of Reims that looks like a village and seems to be far from the city center. That disappointed me at first. Very friendly staff, nice room with large bathroom and great shower. Easy parking in front of the hotel, we had no trouble finding the hotel or walking to the center (about 20 minutes).

Globally satisfied. But, it is quite far from the center of Rheims (25+ mn AND NOT 10 MN AS WRITTEN ON YOUR SITE !!!). The breakfast was OK, but the room was too small and there were NO VEGETABLES, moreover it is TOO EXPENSIVE !

My favorite hotel in Reims.

This hotel seemed rather strange when we arrived as it is positioned in both sides of a street. In fact the accommodation is split with bedrooms and breakfast room on side B and bedrooms and swim pool on Side A.
It may be a little tired looking but see past it as this hotel ticks most of the buttons. Comfortable bed. Great shower. Air con. Delicious breakfast and add I. The swimming pool and within walking distance of Rheims centre what is not to like!

The hotel is very quiet but close to the center and is very well maintained. The team was very friendly and offered an extensive breakfast buffet.

Leuk en gezellig hotel met lekker zwembad. Fijn dat er een parkeergarage is, maar de plekken zijn te klein. Ik werd klem gezet door een man uit Parijs met een enorme auto waaraan ook nog eens een paar fietsen hingen.
Ik mijn auto niet meer in. Hij vond dat ik maar moest wachten totdat hij zijn ontbijt op had de volgende dag om weer in mijn auto te kunnen.
Dit soort 'over-size' auto's, bijna zo groot als een camper, zou niet to de parkeergarage toegelaten moeten worden.

The hotel was very difficult to find. Parking was a problem.

New room, with sink, fridge and microwave, very comfortable bedding, top bathroom, closed paid parking nearby, the only hiccup was a faulty air conditioning with stifling heat in the room but thank you for the commercial gesture.

On arrival we did wonder…. the street seemed a bit downbeat, but on reflection this first impression did not hold true. Nice quiet street, either street parking or a dedicated facility from the hotel for a small sum.
The room was fantastic, large, well appointed and equipped. Electric external blinds kept us quiet for a good lie in.
Just a 15 min walk into town centre.
For travellers like us, just passing through but wanting a good bed, the chance to pop in to see the city and up and away in the morning, this was the spot.

Very basic hotel with no window to outside. It was window onto the corridor so you couldn’t open it. The aircon didn’t work either so I felt very claustrophobic. There was no restaurant on site or close by.

We were given a very friendly welcome and had a really nice and clean room (53) with a fridge, microwave and terrace that no one could see. The breakfast was very good - with enough choice and all the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely come back.

The room smelt musty and not aired when we arrived ,very glad the air conditioning worked..even if it was a little old. .our room was ground floor .The bed was very comfortable and sheets good quality .The shower great hot and good cold too .The fridge was Not at all cold .it's in a quiet area which is great but guests should be told that city tax and garage is an added charge ,I was not told this do the cost went from 59 to 80 ,a difference !
it's a shame these things let the place down. Sadly I would not book again ,after a long drive it's not good to arrive to a Musty room .

There were 3 of us and we had booked 2 rooms. They were on the 2nd floor without an elevator which created difficulties. The floor staff told us that we had to specify when booking that we needed rooms on the ground floor. We thought that a hotel of this category was equipped with an elevator

An establishment chosen for its location (center of Reims) and its price. The only negative points were the reception and the parking spaces (now remember that being in the city center is necessarily not easy to find parking spaces). The establishment's proposal is a rate of €8 per day. What bothered us the most and why we won't come back again is the welcome. The hostess lacked courtesy and professionalism. She was annoyed and all requests from us seemed exasperated. Even asking for an invoice immediately irritated her. We won't come back again

Pleasant room with super comfortable bedding and a quiet hotel. On the other hand, at least a shower curtain would be good because even if I was careful, I wet the bathroom floor and I had nothing to wipe off except my poor socks.

1 downside: parking spaces in the evening

As soon as we arrived, we had to turn on the heating and after more than half an hour we had a comfortable temperature. The downside, the next day (late afternoon), we never managed to obtain a correct temperature. We had cool, untempered air conditioning, despite asking the receptionist.

The hotel was ideally situated for easy access to and from the motorway. parking with a higher vehicle (2m) was available ( which is difficult in the centre of town). It was easy to walk into the city centre to visit the city. I was very pleased to be able to bring my dog with me to the hotel, an essential requirement when travelling with a dog. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was perfect for an over night stay.

Top notch staff. On the other hand, bedroom carpet in poor condition, broken bedside lamp (even dangerous), damaged bathroom door requiring repainting, lamp on sink not working... a good refresh seems essential.

We were met at reception by a friendly staff member who had stayed open for us due to delays at the ferry. She was very helpful. Secure parking was perfect for my motorbike. The room was very comfortable and we had a wonderful stay

Excellent stay at Le Tambour. Very warm arrival and equally warm departure by the young girl behind her counter. Very friendly staff at breakfast too. Otherwise, the room is very clean, equipped with very good bedding and above all very quiet. If we come back to Reims we will definitely go back there. For catering, the hotelier recommended Le Clairmarais, a 12-minute walk from the hotel. We were won over by this welcoming restaurant, also with very good homemade food.

Evening stopover without restaurant forced to take the vehicle back. Vehicle parked 300 meters from the hotel, no place nearby. Having to cross the road in the morning to go to breakfast.
