A very good and beautiful stop on the Camino de Santiago.
A truly disappointing experience, both in terms of content and service. I had booked a room for one night through Booking.com, as thousands of people do every day. Unfortunately, a serious family emergency prevented me from traveling that day, so I contacted the hotel as soon as possible, hoping to find someone understanding and helpful. The response I received was anything but humane. I was told, in a curt and condescending tone, that "I should have booked directly if I wanted better service," and that "Booking.com is my choice, so I'll deal with Booking.com." In other words: no compassion, no sense of service, no willingness to question anything. When you choose to be on a platform like Booking.com, you accept its rules, and above all, you maintain a sense of business and a minimum of consideration. It's not the customer who should be blamed. Losing €80 isn't what bothers me most: it's the mentality. One can be firm without being unpleasant, and professional without being haughty. It's a shame, because at a time when travelers are looking for human connection and respect, this attitude is anything but professional. I simply hope the manager remembers that unforeseen events can happen to anyone and that a little empathy costs nothing but pays off handsomely.

Very nice room and spacious new bathroom. Excellent Pilgrims' Buffet. Excellent Estaing red wine. Very friendly staff and atmosphere. Breakfasts with fresh fruit and gluten-free cereals. Savory items (except omelets and bacon) are extra, as hikers sometimes help themselves to a bit too much for their picnics.

A warm welcome awaited us at this hotel. Our room was clean and quiet, with a very comfortable bed. The evening meal (a la carte) was very good, with local produce and wine. The breakfast was terrific, with a wide choice including bacon and eggs!

I requested a cancellation of my stay following a case of force majeure (injured on the Camino de Santiago) but the establishment, under the pretext of not having many reservations, refused the cancellation and in the end, no longer even responded to my complaints.

Comfortable hotel for a stopover on the Camino de Santiago. A good and generous dinner was served in a nondescript dining room. However, the breakfast was far below our expectations, with basic ingredients and no cold cuts or cheeses. The value for money isn't great (still €13).

We booked based on the website which presented the establishment as a "charming hotel"... No charm, small rooms, noisy with a gap under the door that lets the light from the corridor through all night (which stays on of course). Very basic and very expensive restaurant (for what it is). Impossible to have just one dish because you are required to have a minimum starter, main course or main course, dessert... More than mixed reception...

Everything was perfect: the quality of the welcome, the comfort, the food (excellent!) and the breakfast, which was varied and plentiful. There were 9 of us and this feeling was unanimous.

Decent hotel, room in the main building and not in one of the annexes. The buffet formula for the evening meal is quite disappointing, it is quite expensive and of poor quality. Breakfast under supervision and two signs to encourage not to 'overconsume' or 'take away' ... it is the first time I have seen this.

Very good stay despite the heatwave and the inconveniences of summer, late party and night delivery. Hotel stopover on the way to Compostela, so a lot of movement, to revisit outside high season to fully enjoy the place.

A small hotel full of charm in the heart of a pretty village, a meeting place for all pilgrims from all over the world. A very warm welcome and good meals. We'll come back

The room we were given was very small for all our suitcases, we couldn't get around without stepping over something. In the photos you can see rooms that seem larger. The staff is friendly, but there are signs warning against everything. Maybe they had customers who took advantage or took food away, but that can't be a reason for such obnoxious signs. Furthermore, the room was next to the stairs to the dining room and was not very soundproofed, in the evening ok by 10pm you couldn't hear anything anymore, but in the morning at 7.30am there were the hot drink dispensers going full blast. The à la carte dinner was excellent, local meat and fresh fish cooked very well and well presented. Finally, as we were preparing to leave the hotel, it wasn't even 9.30, a cleaning lady entered without knocking, surprising my naked husband. Maybe fewer signs and more knocking!

I have travel on 40 Camino days and this hotel was way more professional in all aspects. Their food was way better than any other hotel I have stayed at.
Comfortable room, well appointed. A good table d'hôtes and very varied breakfasts.
We arrived by motorbike and were soaking wet and cold when we arrived. We were welcomed with open arms, the motorbikes were stored in the garage, the rooms are small and comfortable and have everything you need. Good beds, great bathroom.
As pilgrims on the Camino we were very pleased with the convenient location of the hotel and the quality of our room, dinner and breakfast. The staff was extremely helpful and proficient.
I reserved by booking 103€ for a cramped room then 25€ for the meal and 12€ breakfast plus 0.8 tourist tax or 140.5 for night in half board it's expensive to be argued at the entrance having to leave the shoes and sticks al enter and walk around in socks...and prohibit taking hot water
After a beautiful day of walking, it is a pleasure to find yourself in a very comfortable and modern room. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious, special mention for the Tonton. Really a hit for the service and the warm welcome from the manager. However, we had sent some things to the laundry room which were temporarily lost. The manager's attitude in handling this incident was not at all up to par with the rest of the service. Too bad but it remains a superb place.
The hotel and restaurant are very pleasant and comfortable. The owners of the hotel are managing and serving the guests also. They are very friendly, courteous and committed. We had a great advice and introduction to dinner, especially because we couldn't immediately translate everything on the menu. Our studio was in perfect condition, everything was clean, the bathroom very modern. The bed was also very comfortable. I guess we've chosen the best place to be in Saint Chely d'Aubrac.

The concern for profitability is more important than the comfort of customers in this hotel. Beautiful room just renovated but no heating at the beginning of April due to 'the sun during the day'. No curtain and no shutters for a room overlooking the village square. Bad luck for us, the hotel had organized a banquet that evening just below the room. Between the banquet, the dishes, the tidying up and the cleaning with a vacuum cleaner which I would summarize as 3rd half staff time until almost 2 a.m., the sweeping of the headlights of the customers' cars and the staff when they leave, reflecting in the room ... the bakery delivery truck at 3 a.m. with its lights on, we didn't sleep. As for the catering, the starter was too raw, the vegetables too al dente, the main course would have been a divine pleasure if the pepper was not so present (an ordeal we suffered from). On the other hand, the dessert was excellent. Please note that during breakfast the buffet does not have one. The manager accompanies us to check the quantities collected, and his camera can also be used if it is in service. Also be aware before booking that the hotel does not accept holiday vouchers. A coffee for compensation? Well no ! I just wanted to sleep actually! And another couple of customers too. Keep it up and good luck!

we actually apologize for the noise until 2am. The banquet in question, which we receive every year, took on proportions that we did not imagine... We recognize that this may have disturbed your sleep.
However, as for the other points raised:
- the heating does not turn on in a room where it is 20°C. My husband came up and offered you additional heating, which you refused. All our rooms are also provided with extra blankets.
The bakery truck doesn't come until 7:30 a.m.!
When it comes to meals, when you have a starter based on crunchy vegetables, yes, the vegetables keep their promises: they are fresh and crunchy!
The breakfast buffet is faithful to the photos posted on our website.
Holiday vouchers are accepted for reservations made directly. This is why you have switched your reservation from Booking to a half-board option directly with us. Indeed, no holiday vouchers for reservations made through reservation centers (Booking, Expedia, etc.)

Very pleasant evening stopover in this small hotel. Clean, comfortable and well appointed room with good bedding. We were well received by the owners and our little dog Tinkie was at the party with a warm, family atmosphere.
