The welcome was great, the room was clean and there was a good varieties of drinks at the bar. The breakfast choice was good

A very nice hotel on the outskirts of Chartres. Close to many shops and restaurants, although has its own restaurant if preferred. We were travelling by bicycle and safe cycle storage is available. a very nice hotel.

Friendly staff, nice place.

Our stay was very good. The hotel was recently refurbished and the standard of decor was high. Two things did make our stay less than excellent - firstly no facility to make a hot drink, and secondly and more importantly the carpet in our room was covered in dog hairs.

Hotel is well situated for a stop over en route from the UK to Limoges. Close to restaurants if you don't want to eat au Francis.
Room was clean and comfortable. Good breakfast.

Since the renovation works were continuing while we stayed. the overall amiance that the hotel used to have has been distroyed. It's now displays a cheap and tacky persona. The room service is appalling the beds are not made properly the bathroom toiletrys are non existant. All the class that this hotel once had has been lost. my bed side lamp consisted of a white box with no light.
The only redeeming point was the help the front desk staff gave when our car broke down in the car park. Beyond that, on our arrival and exec from ibis had parked accross the only 2 disabled bays renedering them unusable. On commenting we were told he wouldn't be moving it for another 2 and a half hours. Frankly discussing behaviour.

I stayed at this hotel for one week, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in a hotel — especially considering that I stayed in Chartres for 4 weeks in total and tried several hotels, none of which had issues like this.
• First, the air conditioner was extremely noisy and malfunctioning. I had to turn it off because the sound made it impossible to sleep.
• The window curtain was torn in half, which allowed direct sunlight into the room from 5:00 AM every morning — waking me up much earlier than I wanted.
• The bathroom smelled terrible, and the pipes were clogged. Water didn’t drain properly.
• Worst of all, I found red spots on my skin, and later my girlfriend had them too. We believe this was due to insects or bedbugs, which forced us to go to the doctor.

When I reported these issues to reception and asked to change rooms, I received a very rude reaction. I was told there were no rooms available. However, I checked online and saw availability, so I asked again. Only then did they say they needed to check the air conditioner themselves first. I waited over 24 hours, and finally got a new room — but it was in even worse condition.

In the new room:
• The hair dryer didn’t work.
• We had another insect problem, and again developed red marks on our skin.

This experience was unacceptable. I hope this feedback helps other travelers avoid a similar situation, and I truly recommend management to take serious action on cleanliness, maintenance, and how they treat guests when complaints are raised.

We found it difficult to locate the hotel initially but once we got there everything was good. Thank you very much to Nicolas for arranging the extra bed at the last minute!

Excellent value for money. Clean room but lacks some storage space. Charging station!

It was a shame, they were renovating. Our room wasn't ready, but we got an upgrade. Excellent. Also the restaurant was closed, but with the restaurant "Leon", we found a good replacement. Breakfast was rich.

There are no hooks for the coats .

Very noisy at 4am woke us up

A very good culinary experience in addition to a very comfortable room. A welcoming and attentive team, attentive to your needs, it is very pleasant. A top restaurant, impeccable service and very good cooking, thank you from my taste buds. I would still have a request concerning the room doors, we really need to find a solution so that they no longer slam so much, it makes an unbearable noise, especially when some guests are not discreet from 6:30 in the morning, just like the soundproofing of these doors so as not to hear everything that is happening in the corridor. And another thing, the transistor of the air conditioning unit crackles incessantly, it will be necessary to have this checked. These are only small details to be resolved but it can really harm the stay of people sensitive to noise.

very nice receptionist. neat room, good shower and lovely bed.

Offered the same room as my last visit in March. Renovations now completed. Coffee machine in place and working fridge. Table provided. Air con still a bit hit and miss. But a lot better than before. Ibis takeover at the beginning of July. Hopefully no discernable change in service. Happy to up nt review again to 'Very Good'.

A good value and comfortable hotel with an excellent restaurant.

Excellent all round, I have some difficulty going up and down stairs, not a problem, the lady in reception, Eva , upgraded my room and the new one was on the ground floor.

Overnight stay ++++

To be avoided, at least during the work! When ordering breakfast when checking in, I was told that it would be a "box" because of the work on the restaurant. I was surprised and was told "it is specified when you booked" which is false (I showed it the next morning). To get to the room from reception, gymkhana between the dismantled doors in the corridor (still the work). The shower floor is very slippery and there is no bar to hold on to, guaranteed fall if it is wet (common for a shower...). Hanging towels is very awkward. Back I looked on the website and noticed that it was not up to date, the latest "news" was the Valentine's Day menu (February when it was May) and that there was no mention of the work, therefore the closure of the restaurant. Thank you for the reservations!

Our fourth visit to this hotel. Helpful and polite staff. Good food and comfortable clean bedroom with a very comfortable bed.

Bye bye Logis. Hello Ibis. Expected coffee machine no longer provided (still listed as available on Logis site). Desk area replaced with a shelf to accommodate aircon unit . New air conditioning not heating - no instructions, touch screen not displaying. And smell of paint from corridor refurbishment. Room fridge not cool (as usual). After 8 or so visits a year over the last 2 years, this was the first time all of my reviews were not marked 'very good'. Refurbishment whilst still trading always a difficult balance to get right: didn't work for us. We'll try again when it is part of the Ibis chain.

Not much of a warm welcome & the hotel seemed to be in the last stages of a revamp. The hotel is alongside a highway which was busy in the morning. However, there is effective sound proofing. Curious lighting system in the bathroom which can only be switched on if bedroom lighting is on. Staff much better in the morning & breakfast was good. Might be good if egg boiler was already switched on though.

Breakfast very poor. Lack of pastries, very minimal for the price. We asked for a croissant, as there were 3 left. The receptionist cooked 4 frozen ones that were totally underdone, just like raw dough

Cleanliness nothing to complain about, perfect bedding and breakfast large variety of toppings for bread and excellent pastries. Yes I recommend L'Orée de Chartres.

Great apart from a faulty shower that suddenly went very hot then normal. Showering was risky.

A consistently reliable and pleasant stopover hotel.

Unfortunately we arrived to a closed car park, due to an event group. Staff extremely helpful with our bags. Fire door left open to allow event participants to utilise the electricity which made our room extremely cold.

Nice hotel, a bit unclear where to enter, at first. Maybe because of the cycle competition? But not ideal to close out other guests from main entrance. Room very spacious, but cold. We were helped with a mobile heater - great! Shower with very low pressure and not really hot water. Otherwise good. Pity that in France in general and also here you almost NEED to eat meat. As a vegetarian you feel very much like an alien from outer space.

The only good thing about this hotel was the convenient location

Everything was ready for our arrival: spacious PMR room, table reserved in the restaurant (the dinner was delicious!) and friendly welcome, smiling and helpful staff. Passing by on our journey, we appreciated the Tesla charging station installed near the entrance to the hotel.

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed but the young lady behind the counter served us at the bar. She was very good and made the effort to speak english as our French is not great! Pillows were not the greatest however.

Yet another fantastic welcome and stay at this Logis hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff at reception and our family of 5 had such a comfortable stay. We arrived an hiur early without warning yet our adjoining rooms we already available, which was really appreciated after a tiring and hot journey. Breakfast was great value with the 5 euro price for children. All of the produce is fresh and unlimited and the waiting staff kept everythinf topped up right to the end. Anybody travelling between north and south france should consider this hotel for an ideal overnight stay on your journey. Thank you Lola and team once again!

very good value for money. I am used to book 4start hotels, so the quality is lower than what I am used but it was very clean, room was large enough, good table to work, good wifi, good airco, enough free parking, close to shops and restaurants, even you can walk there

Far more than just another budget hotel chain. The communal areas are top rate, including the bar and lovely restaurant. Best of all the service and professionalism of the staff was first class. They went above and beyond to make our family of five feel welcome and comfortable including arranging connecting rooms. Highly recommended.

Very uncomfortable 80 cm bed from a width point of view, the minimum should be 90 cm, what's more for a room sold at the same price as a room with a 160 cm bed!

Welcoming and good value plus receptionists were very helpful.
Breakfast is fairly basic but all ok and tasty. Presentation was lovely.

The only slight issue was that perhaps the bathroom and bedroom was a little dated but generally ok.

We love the comfort of the room and the quality buffet breakfast! On a business trip I inform you that I had breakfast included, the woman told me no told me no twice, and I was saved by a young man who took the time to read the small inscription at the bottom of the page indicating breakfast is covered. Please inform all your colleagues for everyone's satisfaction.

Easy access and good position.
Stayed in room 202. Comfortable and quiet, even though it overlooked the entrance.
But 14.90 for a buffet breakfast with only average selection? Not good.

We stayed here 3 weeks earlier and were delighted however this time the staff were not quite as friendly apart from the restaurant waiters who were lovely. My friend couldn’t take a shower as you had to step up into a bath.
When we came to pay for our dinner in the morning the reception charged us 30€ more for the same dinner as we had on our earlier stay as it had been so delicious. See my previous review .

Easy to get to, good room with good beds, great hot water and heat, nice deep tub.

The hotel staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Quick check in, then up to a good room for the money. Comfortable bed, slept well. Had a drink in the bar and there is a restaurant on site. It’s always lovely to have a bar and restaurant on site after a long trip. The hotel was nicely decorated and comfortable. Would definitely stay again. Much more than a budget hotel, but for a budget price. Definitely value for money. Looking forward to our return.

It was an excellent location for a one night stay on the way to calais. The hotel had extremely friendly and helpful staff. The room was great with a few little issues ... wasn't crazy about how the toilet and shower was positioned in the room, maybe just a French thing. No kettle for morning coffee or tea.

I work in 31 departments and I am used to sleeping in a hotel every week, and often via Logis de France. But there, dirty hotel room, cotton swab full of earwax on the floor in the bathroom, pubic hair on the toilet bowl. Hotel located along a 4 lane, very poorly soundproofed, you can hear the road, very ideal for sleeping. For the shower, we wait for the water pressure, we can barely remove the shower gel, we have to wait and wait... For an evening stopover at €134, we expect more comfort. Through my job I spend my time on the road, we sleep in hotels at a certain price to have a good night's sleep, otherwise, we go to lower cost hotels. I was asked why I didn't ask to change rooms, well just too late, I had settled in and changed into something cooler than the shirt. I was entitled to an apology and a 10% discount, but that will not change my opinion, nor my desire to return to this hotel at 134€ for such poor comfort and above all, we are only in Chartres . The only good point that preserves this hotel is the quality of its catering at dinner, very good breakfast, only one downside, the cold scrambled eggs and 15 minutes after the opening of the service..

Stayed here twice during December and was given same ground floor room as requested. Invalid room was big enough for my wheelchair and shower was perfect for us. Lovely Hotel to break our journey to the UK .
