I was wanting to exp,ore the Omaha beach, you get no better place, on the main exit from the beach and lieraly 50m fr9m 8t. The views is outstanding, never closed the windoows or shutters once, the morning view as per d-day but with horses instead is magnificent. Every afternoon with a beer at the lounge and watch the sun fade is just magic
Excellent location, friendly welcome, fair price (value for money)
We had a really great time, the staff were fantastic, very attentive, and the Valentine's Day meal was excellent. Thank you for this wonderful discovery. The room had a magnificent sea view.
We had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant, the waitress was outstanding
The hotel is in a perfect location; renovation should not be postponed any longer.
Super nice location, friendly staff, and my room was cozy with a beautiful view, good coffee machine and muffins at the reception. On the other hand, breakfast is not continental format, no bacon or crushed eggs as in the photos, filter coffee without being self-service, 2 mini pastries pre-served on the table with pieces of bread, the buffet part is limited to a choice of cereals and compotes and some yogurts and a little cold meats. The room was equipped with a miniature TV, the TNT image cuts out all the time and takes a long time to recover, and the heating in the room / bathroom was cut off during the night, fortunately these days were not too cold like a few weeks ago. The restaurant at -1 was nice, but for those who like well-composed and eye-pleasing dishes (gastronomic type), you really have to try the restaurant at level 0 (breakfast room), the waiter is very friendly and professional, and the chef makes very pretty dishes to savor :D
Non-existent reception, cleanliness of the rooms (bins not emptied, bad smell (mold, musty), tiny TV in the rooms, information on the site is inaccurate, etc. etc.
Arrived late, nobody about, found someone after a short time and checked in, no problems, great room with sea view. Went for the bistro rather than the serious restaurant and had a great meal. Overall a good choice and would happily stay there again.
Prachtige ligging uitzicht op zee vanuit een prachtige grote kamer. .mooie grote badkamer,
Fietsen konden apart in in schuurtje staan.
Even though the hotel have signs of years being in use we had a wonderful two days stay. At room no.2 we could see Omaha beach in both directions. The breakfast was ok and the restaurant downstairs was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
The location, overlooking the beach was great. The rooms are comfortable.
A very pleasant stay. The hotel's location is excellent! The room was truly lovely, with an incredible view. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean. I only gave it 3 stars for "ease of access to the hotel": this is because I don't have a car and the bus service in the area is insufficient, at least at this time of year. A major drawback: the price (€175 per night) is excessive (even for breakfast: €15 per person). If I weren't a World War II enthusiast and had a car, I wouldn't have stayed at this hotel because of the price. I would have liked to stay an extra day or two, which was impossible due to the cost; I could have spent more time at the hotel restaurant/brasserie and explored the region even more. Another drawback: the Mathelia restaurant offers very good food, but it's expensive (it is a gourmet restaurant, after all...) and the price of alcohol is completely prohibitive. My ratings for the restaurant only concern Mathelia, not the brasserie below the hotel (same owners).
Very pleasant staff. Impeccable catering services. Highly recommended.
Top location
The hotel's location is excellent for exploring the various historical sites from 1944. There's also a great, large sandy beach for swimming.
A memorable stay at this very historic hotel and historical area for various reasons. Excellent location with spectacular views of Omaha Beach. Our bedroom, looking out onto the beach, was very clean and elegant, with very comfortable bed. The area was was quiet in the evening/night-time ensuring restful sleep. Not so on both mornings: noisy banging of other bedroom doors, and service trolley being manoeuvred along the hallway was disturbing.
We ate in the bar/brasserie on two evenings. One female waiting staff had no English - she told us, although I always make a decent effort to speak French. She could have made an effort to be pleasant at least. At payment I supplied the Logis ETIK loyalty card, but she just shrugged her shoulders, indicating she had no idea what this was about. Another female staff who served us on both occasions was friendly, professional and helpful, and spoke to us in French and English, kindly allowing me to use my French! On our second night eating in the brasserie a young male waiting staff was just as efficient and friendly. The food was lovely and reasonably priced.
At checkout time the service was very disappointing. The lady who checked us in and showed us to our room did not converse or attempt to converse at all during our stay, at check-in (no Bienvenue) or check-out (no Merci or Bon Journee) - in any language. Very perfunctory. The bill was given, I again showed the ETIK card, this appeared to be unexpected, she went away to get a scanner, scanned it. Most hotels with loyalty programmes will have this in their system or ask if you have a loyalty card. One week later no loyalty credits on my account! At the end of our stay I spoke to this lady in French to thank her and to say how beautiful the hotel is. No acknowledgement at all. No word, no gesture, no effort to communicate with me or my husband. No matter how beautiful and historic the building is, or how spectacular the location, this lack of common courtesy, even if it has to be practiced, is disrespectful and unacceptable. The price alone should have warranted an automatic “Merci d’ȇtre resté avec nous”.
Wonderful location directly on Omaha Beach, beautiful views from the windows of the spacious room. Friendly staff, large public parking in front, adequate breakfast. The only small issue: the spotty Wi-Fi connection, which requires frequent reconnection.
Breathtaking view, very good quality/price brasserie...modernized hotel but still quite dated...for the bathroom for example...we will come back even if the price is not cheap!
Excellent hotel with exceptional view and excellent breakfast. Attached to the hotel there is a restaurant with a beautiful panoramic terrace and very friendly staff.
Very good hotel, well located with a breathtaking view of Omaha Beach. The big plus: the restaurant (not the brasserie... THE restaurant). The half-board dinner was very good and the lunch... excellent. Suggestion to be even better: offer scrambled eggs or omelet (on request) and... local butter (we are so close to Isigny...)
Only an overnight stop, but great location and excellent lunch, dinner and drinks. And a fridge in the room! Great in the hot weather.
Junior suite room rental with shower, the one presented with a bathtub, double room proposal with 2 extra beds because nothing else, of course not served, on the other hand on the room side, blind on a window broken, light in the room until 10 a.m. and back at 6 a.m. Refrigerator broken.
When we arrived I had to go and find someone to check in. Checking out the bill had been prepared in advance whether we wanted breakfast or not. The room was nice. No air conditioning. It was well appointed but showing the first signs of getting a little frayed at the edges. For example the paint was peeling on one of the radiators. The hand wash and shower gel dispensers were empty. Best of all there was a kettle with only one sachet of coffee. Staff did not seem able to find and give us more. The restaurant was shut (Sunday night) so we ate in the brasserie. Mistake. Lukewarm fish soup sent back. Steak frites and salad- steak OK, brown wilted leaves are not a salad . Frites OK. No mustard. My wife what was supposed to be an omelette. It was cremated. Again a salad is not a pile of brown edged leaves with one cherry tomato.
Breakfast was adequate but not memorable. Bread was good. Ham, sausisson, smoked salmon etc looked discoloured, old and unappealing. Had to ask for butter.
Recommend, probably not.
What a great hotel, nothing was too much trouble for Julia and the team. Quite special staying near Omaha and thank you for your hospitality.
Everything was perfect: welcome, bedding, cleanliness of the hotel and quiet for sleeping with a sea view. Very good gastro restaurant where we dined with top-notch service as well as breakfast. To book without hesitation 😊😊😊
Outstanding location and service, whether for the lodging or the meals. Highly recommended for a visit to Omaha Beach and its museums and cemeteries commemorating D-Day.
Very warm welcome at the hotel and restaurant. Very well located hotel, magnificent view.
Very good. A bigger TV in the bedroom would be better.
We enjoyed two nights in the hotel which is an excellent base for exploring the area around Omaha and Utah Beaches.
Great location, hotel could be more modern, but everything is present.

The room was very dirty not a good welcome very old towels a tablet that was not ours on the floor and thankfully our dog did not find it first wi-fi was always going off and needed to sign it every 5 minutes even when we put rember us
