A hotel of good size but quite dated also, with the nostalgic scent of an old school. Greeting by the lady was warm, yet formalities were quite to-the-point. Having booked this hotel because of its pool, we were disappointed to see it was out of order. The room was very large indeed, with a mezzanine. Some family members thought the stairs to it were dangerously steep. The room had everything it needs beside a fridge and a working hairdryer. Style of the room was outdated yet it was clean and beds were good.
The restaurant/breakfast area was not very inviting to have dinner. Lots of signs urging to stop/wait/wear masks/not touch the buffet. Yes, in this hotel it is forbidden to take anything from the buffet yourself. It could be an attempt from the inn keeper to offer extra service, but we felt it was designed as a way to excert control over what you would put on your plate. Quite intimidating and not a way to make people feel welcome. Eggs were cold and no glutenfree options were available, but these are minor side notes to a otherwise quality breakfast with home made jams and cake. Yum!
We would have appreciated some level of genuine interest in us, their guests. Hopefully this review helps improve some things about the hotel experience. This place has potential!

L'auberge est propre, la chambre, salle de bain et lieux communs propres et bien entretenus. En ce qui concerne l'accueil, c'est autre chose! Premier rapport au téléphone deux jours avant notre arrivée peu cordial. Une fois arrivé, déception, l'auberge est au bord de la route, aucunes précisons quand à notre séjour ! Chouette, il y a une piscine.... malheureusement nous avons oublié nos bonnets (covid oblige). Le prêt, la location, la vente de bonnets aurait été un plus, il faut demander aux gestionnaires pour rentrée dans la piscine et "pas de bonnets, pas de piscine"... Ma fille de 11 ans a été très déçu ! Nous avions choisi cette auberge pour la piscine. On m'a rétorqué que tout était indiqué. Pour moi, ce n'était pas clair clair. Bref, un hôtel Logis de France, à côté de Vichy (magnifique), mériterait un accueil un peu plus adapté aux voyageurs d'une nuit.
