Chambre correcte
Very friendly welcome by Madame and Monsieur, perfect hotel location (near Rocamadour) and a very good butcher close to the hotel....
Very welcoming
Very good surprise. Pleasant setting, well located and quiet. The owners are very nice.
In a very pleasant setting, average comfort for a 3*, but which suited us perfectly, double room (2 rooms) clean, small fridge, ceiling fan, the stay was pleasant despite the high heat during the day (35 °C). The noise of car traffic for rooms on the street side may cause some open windows as well as the absence of air conditioning in the rooms. In terms of catering, quality cuisine, fresh produce, good choice, we really enjoyed it. In short, ready to come back.
Nice fresh room despite the warm temperatures and the fact that there is no air conditioning. Good bed, nice breakfast and cheap and tasty restaurant. Just a pity that it was only open from 5.30 pm. Friendly people.
Very nice discovery in a very pleasant setting and very good food.
Nice establishment. Arrival from 5:30 p.m. is nevertheless too late.
Very very warm welcome by the hotel team
I find it DISAPPOINTING the fact of always going through the street to access either the room or the dining room, as well as waiting until 5:30 p.m. to see the hotel open its door.
Great welcome. Too bad there are no electrical terminals as indicated if the website. Please note that not all rooms are air-conditioned. The family comfort suite is perfect and excellent value for money!
Restaurant perfect, room very simple, breakfast perfect, lovely location, in the garden you can have dinner of a drink
Very calm location
Magnificent establishment, the owners and staff are top notch and attentive, the restaurant is of very good quality. I recommend
Very comfortable room
Very relaxing stay, very quiet hotel. Be sure to get the opening hours specified before arrival.
Room dilapidated (carpet and bathroom more than 10 years old) and dirty (cobweb, moldy fridge). We slept (at least tried) upstairs where the heat is unbearable without air conditioning and the poor fan that only has one speed will not change anything. A vital need for renovation. It is not a three star but 1 at most.
The room is small, with a noisy fan. It overlooks the road, so impossible to sleep with the window open. I find that paying 80 euros out of season is too expensive
Top gegeten in sfeervolle tuin.
Lovely hotel with great restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Pool was a great add on’
Simple, functional, comfortable, clean, considerate and warm welcome, neat and hearty breakfast. Impeccable all the way.
Very nice building, but too bad no air conditioning and really it was very very hot in the rooms. Beautiful well maintained swimming pool. Too bad It lacks the little presentation effort, the big jar of jam bought on the buffet table in the morning is a bit limited. Bread, pastries limited, in this season orange apple as fruit is a bit disappointing. A room for 4 and 2 small bottles of water, a little stingy.
Fleas in the bed found the night before last. We left early the next morning. The bathroom floor was filthy. (the white carpet was still grey). The room always smelled damp. (Week of heat wave we could only open the window at night from 11 p.m. to 9:30 a.m.) then it was too hot. It was written in the ad "air conditioning", this was not the case. Poor ceiling fan. False advertising. On the other hand the reception was at the top and we took advantage of the swimming pool which is well maintained. A reminder to customers that it is forbidden to urinate in the swimming pool would be welcome. Knowing that the toilets are clean and close! (Sometimes when I got out of the swimming pool, my swimsuit top smelled of urine.) The kindness of the managers meant that we didn't say anything about that. Ps: the cushions are horrible (we had 2 tfes roof sore neck) Nothing to make a little coffee in the room and no fridge to keep your drinks cold
Very good stay however we had a little hot in the room. An air conditioning would be welcome but that did not prevent the quality of our stay.
Consider installing air conditioning. Eggs and charcuterie at breakfast would be welcome
The little extra with the infinity pool, hammock and deckchair and very pleasant and the setting is beautiful and soothing. Very nice for a morning swim. And the staff, very friendly too. The bedrooms and the bathroom are spacious, there is an entrance and a beautiful balcony. Lacks a bit of air conditioning in this scorching heat.
very beautiful shaded setting with a very beautiful swimming pool. a warm welcome, a very good restaurant with good local products. we can't wait to go back it's a haven of peace. moreover the region is magnificent. see you soon
An excellent Logis with a very good restaurant!
Excellent hospitality and very helpful staff
When we arrived late afternoon the hotel was completely shut with a sign on the door to call a number in case of absence, but only after 17:30. I called anyway but no reply. We were not given any notification of this at all in advance. The (new) owner of the hotel is just awful. We were constantly interrogated if we would or would not have breakfast (while we were tired and hot and didn't yet know), we were given the worst possible table both for dinner and breakfast. The breakfast buffet for €12.50 each !!!! consisted of some pieces of stale bread & croissant, a few rolled up slices of ham and cheese, cake, cereals and some yoghurts tugged away in the back of the fridge. And not at all presented kindly or nicely let alone appetizing. The lady owner constantly breathed down our necks during breakfast. And when after breakfast we went for a short stroll before departure, she came chasing us down the terrace to check where we were going with the key and when we would be back, as if we were some kind of criminal! After we checked out we walked through the courtyard garden (which is set-up with tables and chairs for restaurant/bar service) back to the parking area to find the dogs had been released and told to do "pee-pee" right there in between the guest tables!!! (By a young lady whom I assume is the owners daughter, she had the hotel shirt on in any case). We are dog and animal lovers, but not lovers of owners who let them piss and shit all around your guests areas (would you do this at home?)!!! The thing is, I love smaller family hotels and am happy to understand, actually like the quirkiness that comes with that type of accommodation. This particular one I have known my entire life. It used to below to Jean-Pierre & Edith who were both an amazing cook, a lovely host and a couple full of live and hotelier love. Of course the 70'ties / 80'ties have long since gone and times do change. So yes I know I can be prejudice with hints of nostalgia. But over the past decades I have been back from time to time to visit Grangier on several occasions, either for dinner or a stay. Over the years the hotel has been modernised, some changes are amazing like the pool. Some not particularly to my taste, like the bland and boring rooms. But the area is beautiful, the chef was always amazing and the people who ran it knew how to make you feel welcome still: with a lovely set up breakfast and an understanding of hospitality. Currently that feeling of being welcome is dead!! The chef is still okay, so for food a visit it is fine. But the service of the owners is just awful both in the restaurant and the hotel. I did leave a tip for the chef and the waiter (whom was extremely nervous around the lady patron) and I hope the received it, but I canceled my return visit as this experience is not to be repeated. I hope somehow the new owners will be able to turn this around and make Grangier a loving and welcoming place again. The natural surrounding are so beautiful and the core of the building is so lovely it deserves better.... and so did we!!!
Very good, a warm contact, a family atmosphere in a very pretty garden, for meals.
Good casual atmosphere and high price for the level of service provided
Très bon rapport qualité prix.
Chambre un peu bruyante sur la rue avec les fumeurs sous la fenêtre.
An evening on reservation in the middle of the stay without having been warned... So manage it yourself, it's the only black point that spoils the stay a little, but overall: good welcome, cleanliness, pretty setting, good value for money
Thank you to the entire Fan-Fan and Jean-Marc team for their welcome. Establishment run with care and with a smile. All our best wishes for this season and the following ones!
We have stayed at Le Grangier before and Jean Marc and FanFan have recently taken over this delightful, small hotel.... everything is still very good and a very happy welcoming feeling when there. Great room, shower, bar, restaurant and breakfast. We will stay at Le Grangier again, for sure! Thank you, Jean Marc and FanFan.... a very happy few days with you.... Good Luck with your new business! Charlie B.
