Excellent location for seeing Chartres. Food was good. Staff friendly but it is an old building in much need of refurbishment. The room was very small, soft furnishings dark and dusty, stained carpet, dust++ behind the bedside table. Very heavy lumpy duvet. Bathroom was very cramped. Painted surface under sink was peeling, grout was mouldy, radiator peeling and rusty. Very small corner shower with shower curtain. Very thin towels. The stairs were very narrow with no hand rail - and the one railing around a small half landing was very very loose. Not really the standard of accommodation we were expecting for the price. The public bar area and restaurant were good and clearly popular with local people, it felt as though this was the focus of the effort rather than the accommodation.
Super comfortable hotel with beautiful decor.
Friendly welcome and very competent staff!! Breakfast could be improved by adding a fruit salad. The mattresses are a little too soft. For traveling with friends, a 160cm wide bed is not enough.
Fabulous little hotel with excellent restaurant
Hotel staff were very welcoming and the food in the restaurant was excellent.
Room and bathroom were very small and you could hear people in room next door even when they pulled the curtains.
We had a nice stay despite not getting much sleep due to traffic noise and from other rooms. View from room of cathedral was nice.
On departure bill was wrong we had been charged for several items we had not had so check your bill.
The hotel and staff/owners are all very welcoming and kind. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable and the breakfast croissants were delicious!
The dinner was generally tasty and well presented but the portions seemed small. The only negative was the rooms were really warm and you need air-con. Yes you can open the windows but if you’re on the first floor and you have a small dog they can easily get out the window and walk along ledges below, so not ideal. We were here in September and it was manageable with noisy fans in rooms but I would not like to imagine it in July or August.
