A lovely family who made us feel at home from the very first moment. The breakfast was delicious and very complete, with everything you need to start the day off right. The room was clean and comfortable, although it could use a little renovation to make it even more welcoming. It was definitely a very pleasant stay.
The owners are welcoming, the rooms are quite large and cool despite the August 2025 heatwave without air conditioning. The bathrooms are small and could do with a renovation. Unparalleled value for money. A hotel for a few nights, not for a long stay. Private parking in front of the hotel is very convenient in Saint Nectaire. Breakfast is a well-stocked buffet with fresh products, which is not always the case in other hotels of this category. So a good stopover during your stay in Auvergne. Lots to do within a few kilometers of the hotel.

We probably had the least comfortable room booked via Booking. Window at street level, very busy during the day. Don't imagine taking a little rest after lunch. Noise from the bathrooms (shower, toilet tap) from early in the morning and in the evening. TV the size of a computer screen. Cramped and dark room. Period bathroom. Impeccable welcome and breakfasts. The hotel team is very friendly, it helps save the furniture. PS. Room 108 May be suitable for 1 night.

We returned to this hotel after a hike on the GR 30. We were able to leave our car in the hotel parking lot, what a convenience. The bathroom was really very small, you can't fit two people in it. There was no fan, neither on the ceiling nor on a stand, even though the summer heat is known in the Massif Central, it was stifling. A good point at breakfast: the fresh fruit salad.

We had chosen this hotel for an overnight stop, our choice having fallen on the establishment because its restaurant was listed as open on the evening of our arrival, Whit Monday. We had notified a reservation for dinner, the same day as the room reservation, on the Logis website. We checked twice by telephone with the hotel, on the Sunday and Monday preceding our arrival, that the restaurant was indeed open and that our reservation was registered. This was confirmed to us, bordering on kindness. Once on the road, we received a call to inform us that the hotel restaurant was closed on the evening of our arrival. A restaurant was suggested to us which did not satisfy us (we recommend "L'Hermitage" in Saint Nectaire which did the job very well). The justifications given by the hotel management were not satisfactory and we expressed our dissatisfaction with this lack of professionalism, which we have encountered for the first time since we have been loyal to the Logis label. Note that the bathroom is well below expectations, with a shower equipped with a curtain that just wants to stick to the body. The window of this room, when opened (without opening the shutters otherwise the privacy disappears), shows that it has not been cleaned outside from splashes probably coming from vehicles driving in the street on a very, very close curve. This proximity to the traffic lane makes it easy to wake up early in the morning, in a room whose bedding is however decent. The room where breakfast is served (the one in the restaurant where we would have liked to have dinner) is dark, old-fashioned, and charmless.

Does not respect the ethics of the lodges regarding menus. At St. Nectaire, we were offered chicken with legs for a meal. Doubts about local and fresh products prompted us to eat outside of this establishment, which greatly disappointed us. The loyalty card is very poorly managed. A huge disappointment, avoid this establishment. A scam!

The room we were assigned, room 109, is located on the ground floor of a busy road and does not have a ventilation system. The frequent passage of cars at night, despite closed shutters and drawn curtains, creates flashes of light that make sleep impossible. The temperature of the room, very hot, is incompatible with normal sleep. At 1am, absolutely unable to sleep, we left on foot (we were hiking on the GR30). This is the first time I have written a negative review of a hotel and it is the first time I have slept in a hotel room in which it is so impossible to sleep since a stay in Varanasi, India, in a hotel on the upper floor that was being demolished. I do not think the hotel managers ever tried to sleep in this room. I don't know what about the other rooms, but room 109 cannot objectively be rented, even less in the context of a hotel labeled logis hôtel and certainly not for a two-star. A note was left for the hotelier who did not offer any commercial gesture and debited 20 euros of missing bill (a check for 120 euros having been left at 1am when leaving to go hiking in the middle of the night), the room having been billed 80 euros and the meal, poor, 30 euros per person.

Our host was very welcoming, and spoke good English (which helped!). Hotel was comfortable, with a large double bed in our room, plus two chairs and a desk. We ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel- both were very good; the evening meal was hearty "mountain food", although lighter options were available. The hotel is well situated, allowing us to explore Mont Dore and Puy de Sancy, as well as La Bourboule and St. Nectaire itself. It is an area we were not familiar with, and we were very impressed and hope to return some time.
Good welcome, beautiful spacious room, free private parking. Only one complaint: the breakfast advertised between 5 and 9.5 euros on the hotel's website is charged at 12.5 euros! And this high price is not justified because the buffet offered lacks choice and renewal (eg. Green tea only, only one small waffle, 3 mini pastries) even though we showed up at 8:15 a.m.

The hotel has been renovated, the bedding is perfect and the family welcome is very friendly. We were with our grandchildren, when paying we had the happy surprise of having a commercial reduction for the children's dinner. The weather was very bad but in the room there was an auxiliary heater and blankets in the cupboard... So much attention deserves to be noted.
