Very good so helpful. One member of the staff actually couldn't understand what we had been saying so she got the translator on her phone which really helped. Because our sailing was later they looked after our bags for us even after leaving time.
Breakfast the lady that helped us even showed us how to use the boiled egg gadget. Really good service.
Decorating was lovely in character with the building. Comfort in your room a really good sleep.
We would definitely go back.

If we have to draw a parallel between the establishment and the quality of the room that I was offered there is a gulf. The establishment, the staff, the restaurant are perfect, with indisputable value for money. On the other hand, the room is really cramped without internet with an almost inaudible television made of a permanent snoring. I think that the establishment would gain in reputation by no longer renting this type of attic and aging room. I say that the value for money is very disappointing, because through booking this type of room is rented for €97 without breakfast and that for this price we are entitled to demand at least wifi and a functional TV
Particularly shocked by the bad comments I read about this establishment!!!!! We stayed there and also tasted the restaurant and breakfast service and can say that we liked everything, absolutely everything. A pretty bedroom with a view of the port, a bathroom with a large Italian shower and a large thalasso bathtub. The whole thing was very clean and the bedding was of good quality. On the food: the products are all fresh, the meat (mine) was delicious and cooked perfectly and the fish (the gentleman's) was just as successful. The hearty breakfast was also appreciated. So we are delighted and certainly during a future stay we will return there. This establishment certainly deserves these 3 stars from Logis de France.
The only problem, linked to road works certainly but not only, is that the address of the establishment is indicated on the quay in front of the pleasure basin, while the photo of the Logis de France site is taken from Place Sainte Anne, which raises doubt, especially since the door on the platform was closed around 5 p.m., it is in fact that of the restaurant. We had to call for a charming lady to explain to us that the entrance was from the back. Fortunately this was the only inconvenience.
Disgusting is the only way to describe this hotel - we checked out almost as quickly as we checked in. I travel extensively throughout the world and this was the worst hotel that I have ever experienced. I chose the hotel because it looked charming in the pictures on Booking.com, was in the Center of Cherbourg by the harbour, and was advertised as having WiFi throughout. When we arrived to check in the first thing to hit us was the smell, a dirty smell from the lobby - lounge - restaurant area. The young lady who checked us in then led us out the back door past the kitchen and outside (in the pouring rain) and down the back street to another building. We carried our bags up three flights of stairs to our room (a triple as I was travelling with my wife and young daughter), and again we were immediately hit by the damp dirty smell. Then we tried to get WiFi but none was available. This was the last straw. We went back downstairs to the same young lady and complained about the smell and the WiFi. She shrugged her shoulders and tried to suggest that the smell was just because of it being an ‘old building’ and I looked her in the eye and said ‘no it’s just very dirty’, the carpets were sticky underfoot (everywhere) and the surfaces were sticky - dirty sticky. She also told us that WiFi was only available in the bar. We decided there and then to find another hotel for the night and told the lady of our decision. She told us that she had spoken to her manager and that they were going to charge us for the night anyway, as those were their ’terms and conditions’. We left anyway and found a lovely hotel (Le Cercle) close by.

Attic room was up 4 flights of stairs which includes 2 spiral staircases. I arrived early and could not check-in Approx 1 hr early) this was no problem so I thought I would get a coffee as they are a cafe restaurant also but was bluntly told no said they are restaurant! Didn't ask if I wanted to eat! So had to leave and go back. Room cosy, good shower, no lights in room worked so was unable to read. Dinner was nothing special went for fixed price 30e After had my starter of smoked salmon I was given back my cutlery to use for my main! I thought this odd as not had that happen before lol! Main of duck was overcooked however creme brulee was lovely. Paid extra for breakfast was average choice. Was able to leave suitcase on checkout day to collect later. Close to everything. Ok for a stop over. Stayed in 3 hotels on my trip in France and this was not as good as the others which were all similar in price in Lille and Rouen.

We had a wonderful stay. The cleaning staff do very good job of tidying the place and cleaning rooms. It was comfortable. We needed last minute booking because of changes in our ferry and we came from far and nearly cancelled because of some miscommunication with booking.con but they helped us immediately and gave us our rooms. Our dog was welcomed. There is parking right behind hotel. It’s an old building but it’s comfortable and clean. Staff was very helpful.

The hotel is very cozy, close to the marina, restaurants and museums. The menus offered by the hotel restaurant are varied and of high quality. The attic room was very nice, clean and well furnished. Thank you very much for your professionalism, we will probably come back because our short stay was not enough for all the visits we wanted to do.

There was no kettle for tea or coffee and the WiFi did not work in the room.

View the hotel's answerthis hotel is still in the 80s! dug bedding, very small tv and sui works with demodulator whose remote control does not work well, breakfast with frozen products (slice bread in particular) it is not acceptable to pay this price for such mediocre services. moreover, when I arrived, no warning of a heating failure (breakdowns happen, saying so avoids ending up at midnight refrigerated) and no commercial gesture made for the inconvenience. to avoid.

I will never return to this hotel, rooms very cold, damp, a bed close to acceptable. I do not recommend this hotel to everyone around me and I will make it known on the internet. The only positive point is the evening meal, as for the breakfast, it is deplorable.
Despite having paid an 11€ breakfast, I waited until 7:30 am and the service was closed.

Well located hotel. According to the description, courtyard view, and view of Notre Dame square?! In fact, a view of a public car park and a building which has a bird's eye view of the room, which has no shutters or curtains, only double curtains and no air conditioning. And above all work on the car park, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.... Impossible to sleep and even stay in the room. Reported the day of departure, very badly received ... Old-fashioned decoration, carpet, bathroom dated and without ventilation.
Comfortable bed. On the other hand, hairs found towards the trash can of the bathroom located next to the bathtub.

Very simple to sum up our 3 nights in this hotel that we did not know. Bed base broke as soon as I sat on it when I arrived. I warned immediately and I was told that we would take care of it for the next day and I am still waiting. So 3 nights in a rather very uncomfortable position! I could have sat in the chair next to me but no luck he was also completely stoned! I could have sat on the chair and connected to the Wifi but no luck either because the network is not strong enough to reach the upstairs rooms (an experience unfortunately shared with other people staying in the hotel). To finish but this is not what I want to put first because it can happen for beginners. We had decided to have dinner there the first evening and we started with 2 glasses of champagne which ended up on the table and on my tablet! We got 2 new cuts and the meal went well. Finally when I paid, I still pointed out that I had had a non-compliant room with this partially unusable bed. I was told that they were going to notify management and call me back to make a move! I am still waiting !!
Very good location on the port of Cherbourg. Ideal for discovering the city.
The building is old and traditional therefore it doesn't have a lift or air conditioning. Or room was overlooking the harbour (as requested), but was stuffy and noisy if he windows were open to let some air in - just one of those things.
The bath had a shower over but didn't have a screen/curtain which meant water went everywhere, but it was fine overall.
The restaurant was lovely and the service good. The food was lovely as well
The public car parking was actually behind the hotel so easy access and safe to leave your car.
Would recomend this hotel but maybe not if you have mobility issues due to the lack of a lift - the stair cases are narrow and wind around so don't take too much luggage. It also doesn't have wifi.
