Restaurant la Croix Blanche Fontevraud

A nest of turtledoves in the ivy geranium tub at the window is so exceptional: an unforgettable stay.

Maybe visitors need to be told the standard rooms are a bit small - we were glad we were able to upgrade!

Reception staff were very welcoming. We had a vintage room which was very well appointed with a comfortable bed and extra pillows. The hotel itself is an historic building on the main square and ideally placed for visiting the Abbaye de Fontevraud.

In the hotel there is a very good restaurant serving delicious local food at reasonable prices. Highly recommended is the La Gouline, a local pie with wild mushrooms and a goats cheese sauce. Wines are well chosen. There is also a nice bar and comfortable lounge.

Breakfast is served in a separate room and is copious with excellent fruits and croissants.

Car parking is easy. I hope to go back soon and highly recommend.

Excellent location, good car park, lovely swimming pool, attractive terrace, good breakfasts and dinners. Menu doesn't change and fish of the day was always salmon, so best for short stays if you plan to eat at the hotel every evening. The swimming pool is short of umbrellas. During our stay the weather was exceptionally hot, so the rooms can get very hot, although a fan is provided.

Very well located for visiting, beautiful rooms and to top it all off a good restaurant and of course, top-notch staff.

We unhesitatingly recommend the Logis Hôtel "La Croix Blanche" in Fontevraud, where we stayed (five nights) in May 2025. The welcome was friendly and efficient. The common areas (restaurant, breakfast room, lounge, and especially in this season, the indoor terrace) are all very pleasant. The hotel has a very convenient private parking lot. Our room ("Vintage Superior Room") was small but pleasant. The nights are extremely quiet. Rest assured. The breakfast is perfectly adequate, in line with those of similar establishments. We enjoyed one evening and one lunchtime at the hotel restaurant: also a good address.

Very good, on all levels, for a reasonable price. The restaurant's food is good, and the staff is charming. Sleeping a hundred meters from the recumbent statues of Richard and Eleanor is unusual! There's plenty of room to store bikes, and the Vienne River is nearby, so good walks are possible.

A beautiful discovery

Charming hotel restaurant well located, in the heart of Fontevraud and its magnificent abbey, in a very touristic region. Thank you for their warm welcome! The restaurant is also a great discovery, with quality local products. For gourmands and gourmets, a real treat! If we return to the region, we will not fail to stop at the Hostellerie de la Croix Blanche in Fontevraud!

Ideally located in the heart of the village, free private parking, very good restaurant with the possibility of dining by the fire, smiling and helpful staff. Very complete breakfast. Simple but efficient room with a beautiful spacious bathroom.

Beautiful traditional establishment in the immediate vicinity of Fontevraud Abbey and its modern art museum.

Superb hotel, very comfortable rooms

Problem with the booking date (wrong arrival day). If the price of the rooms is correct, the price of the catering (dinner at €38 with a limited choice and very very classic breakfast at €16) are in line with the magnificent setting of the abbey.

Lovely hotel in superb location.

We love Croix Blanche. Our only slight negative is that we were here for 4 nights and Megan to fu d the menu a little limiting. Having said that the food we had was delicious!!

We went forward, in eleven days we didn't! Ruime kamer, mooi ingericht, zoals heel het hotel trouwens. Midden op het dorpsplein, zoals enkel in the French platteland mogelijk is. Have dinner for your meal.

Magnificent establishment, very friendly welcome both in the hotel and in the restaurant. Delicious dishes. A little lack of soundproofing for the room.
