Cheval Blanc was taken over about three years ago by three friends. Each with his own speciality, they took charge and the result is truly a success. Good address to visit the DER lake
We had a very beautiful, recently renovated superior room on the 2nd floor (no elevator). Beautiful decoration, comfortable bedding, large TV, modern and complete bathroom. Nespresso machine and courtesy bottle of water, a small kettle for tea was missing however. My son stayed in an essential room on the 1st floor, which was very basic though. Breakfast is basic, no hot food included. Possibility of having eggs but with a supplement. The products presented are of good quality. The hotel is well located near the lake and easy to access with parking at the rear for guests and street parking at the front. The restaurant is very beautiful with a beautiful gastronomic menu and more than reasonable prices. The staff is welcoming and available. A beautiful stay in a beautiful region

The rooms have just been redone, they are truly magnificent, decorated with great taste. The breakfast is quite simple but good, and as soon as a basket is empty or bread is missing it is immediately replaced! The hotel is very well located, right next to Lac du Der, the view from the rooms in the morning with the sun is really very beautiful. The only downside is the level of service, the restaurant is of very high quality but there is nothing simpler if you want to eat quickly, for example sandwiches at the bar or hot toast, and you would have liked to have a herbal tea in the evening but no information found regarding the service in the rooms, and we did not want to disturb. A really quality hotel but not very suitable if you have to go quickly. On the other hand, it must be said... The shower is magnificent! We will come back with pleasure but for a vacation, when we have more time to enjoy the restaurant etc.

Old-fashioned room except bathroom, insulation: flushing noise at night The electric vehicle charging station did not work, I was able to charge for a few hours on a mains socket, i.e. 30%. I was billed 15€ when it should have been 3€ even if we consider that it depends on the energy supplier we cannot go beyond such a difference especially since I was on a classic electrical outlet 🤔. No details provided on the invoice. Disappointed with the quality/price ratio
Avoid the rooms on the 1st floor which are not redone, old, the paint is peeling, the carpet is dirty...we had 2 80 cm beds...a pair of sheets was dirty
Second visit to this hotel and first since the renovation. The rooms are beautiful, modern, practical and tastefully decorated. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. We will definitely come back.

In the evening stopover, the choice of a dinner 'starter + main course' or 'main course + dessert' and the complete formula 'starter + main course + dessert + 1 drink' generates an additional cost of 15€ :-( Nothing to say about the quality of the cuisine but the quantities on the plate are 'gastronomic'. The bottle of Châteldon sparkling water will cost you 8€. correct but room and bathroom would require a real refreshment including the equipment Nothing to complain about the reception and the environment of the hotel.
This was the second time this year we have spent our last night in France at this hotel. The food was excellent, the room was comfortable and the staff were friendly and efficient. A very enjoyable last night in one of our favourite French hotels.

A very quiet hotel-restaurant on a large property in a small town on the Lac du Der. The hotel rooms are of an older standard in terms of furnishings, but functional and correspondingly inexpensive. The restaurant stands out for its exceptional service (4 waiters including sommelier) and the quality of the menus and the very extensive wine list.

Very nice family run hotel, this was my 3rd stay and I would return. The room was tiny and simple, but clean. Free parking, quiet location, the food in the restaurant is top notch! breakfast a bit tight, it lacked eg eggs and complait bread and, unless I am mistaken, cereals.

Location could not be better when you want to be a stone's throw from the Lac du Der embankment. Certainly, the decor of the room is dated but impeccable bedding, impeccable cleanliness, calm. And then, it is planned to redo all the rooms little by little. An amazing breakfast, there is something for everyone with local products. Finally, a charming and attentive welcome. Congratulations to Sébastien and Julien who took up the challenge of offering us a performance of this quality. As for the restaurant, wow! Delights of delights. Cheer !

The reception is perfect, very friendly. The catering and breakfast part is perfect, everything is very good, local products. Only downside, the room is outdated and not in harmony with the very cozy ground floor of the hotel. But for a night or two, it's not very inconvenient. We will gladly come back.
The hotel is charming, the team perfectly kind and the restaurant is excellent. Also the breakfast is remarkable. Parking is easy and the situation nearby the lake is great. The bed was totally comfortable and the room cosy. I‘ll certainly come back for a longer stay as I really enjoyed this one. BTW: Changing artists are displayed in the restaurant, it is beautiful art that matches the ambiance.
The location is quiet which is a plus. As for the room assigned to us, I'm still unsure whether it was a single or a double. Really narrow bed. The bathroom was old-fashioned and the toiletries were provided for one person !!!

This hotel is located close to the nautical base of Giffaumont-Champaubert, in the center of the village. The personal is very nice and I had an excellent stay. Moreover, the restaurant is highly recommended, I had a nice dinner with local food which is highly appreciated. I will for sure come back.

Malgré un week-end pluvieux nous nous sommes retrouvés au cheval blanc et nous avons reçu toute la chaleur qui nous manquait hélas dehors.
Un superbe lieu avec des personnes vraiment aux petits soins pour nous...
La chambre..rénovée..très belle et bien équipée.
Le restaurant ... un pur moment de plaisir.. il faut absolument y aller et goûter leurs mets... nous reviendrons sans aucun doute.
