A very welcoming lady as we had travelled from UK by car and rain most of the way .
It was nice to see a happy face.
Arranged to have a lovely dinner next door even though it was closed to the public as it was Sunday evening, much appreciated

Hotel is old and in need of a serious facelift. Bathroom was of the multicoloured dated variety. Bed & pillows were lumpy. Decor and electrics a mix of old and botched new. Dusty & cold wood floor. No tea or coffee facilities. WiFi weak and intermittent, awkward to connect.

I had a medical problem with a foot during my stay. The hotel could not have done more to support me. They did their best to get me medical attention.I was moved from my original room to the first-class room for the disabled. I was given a wheelchair and the staff refused to let me walk until I had seen a doctor. My lunch on the day of the problem was brought in for me from the restaurant next door and checks on me and my needs were regularly made. Finally they got me an appointment to see a doctor at 6pm. I was wheeled to my appointment and back by the hotel owner. (My eventual failure to see a doctor was due to the fact that the medical centre was evacuated because the house next door caught fire!) So the care from the hotel was first class.

I reserved two rooms for our stay. One room had ample room and a large bed, the other room was VERY small - we had to turn sideways to get around the bed - and the bed was not large.My husband and I took turns in the room to get showered and dressed for the day so we would have room to maneuver. I payed equal amounts for these rooms.

Martine, Fabienne, and all the staff were such lovely, kind, helpful people. The hotel and garden and breakfast room is very charming. The rooms are dated and the lighting is not great. The bathroom was bright. Everything seemed clean. The blanket could use a wash. The breakfast was very good. They have bikes, which we rode through the village and to the wine cave. The location is perfect, accessible to the castle and local restaurants. We were in chinon area for a wedding abd very happy we stayed at this hotel. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you very much, Martine and staff

We were not aware that there was a restaurant on site , as implied by the questionnaire, aor of the extent to which amenities eg grounds and swimming pool were available to us. This did not detract from the overall experience for an overnight stay.

Très déçue qu'à notre arrivée la chambre n'ait pas été faite et paraissait terne; en revanche le changement de chambre a été rapide et la chambre paraissait plus agréable. Toutefois la baignoire n'était pas très propre et il ne restait qu'un seul mouchoirs dans le distributeur.

Very good small hotel close to the centre of Chinon with free public parking just outside the hotel. We had one of the garden rooms which had a very large shower room and a sitting area and tables outside.The room was well kited out with a very large TV and fridge and tea and coffee and kettle etc. The hotel recommended 4 restaurants which were very good !
The only bad thing was an uncomfortable mattress and a duvet with no cover. Other wise 10/10

Bon emplacement dans Chinon. Hôtel avec du charme composé de trois maisons de caractère. Accueil chaleureux.
Chambre calme avec vue sur le jardin. Nous n’avons passé qu’une nuit mais à recommandé pour visiter les alentours.

I’m torn between adequate and disappointing. My room experience was absolutely disappointing, interior looked like from the 90’s and felt like it. An empty medium-size fridge was in the room … for what? To keep it running? What a waste and little consideration of electricity + at least with the current heat would I have expected for a 3-star (maybe more 2* B&B) a bottle of water in the fridge. Even if it costs. But there was no amenity, here is your room … live with it.
The staff was somewhat distant and living in their own world and rhythm (“don’t dare to interrupt me”), yet they were friendly and welcoming. I had a late night arrival and despite the advise in the booking when I arrived there was nobody. I was lucky and there was the chef from the neighboring restaurant (which I figured out all belong to the same owner), who called the owner who was than walking me through how to get my key. That was a shock at first, but friendly and helpful support. Maybe I had too high expectations … did I leave feeling bad: mmh, a bit yes a bit no. Would I go back …. Not at all. Spiderwebs in the room (framing it positively: they were good against mosquitos). Was there wifi (for free as per the prospect): yes. Did I find anywhere the credentials: no. Was I too annoyed to ask: yes!
