Restaurant la Caravelle (Baie d'Ispe)

Hôtel très bien situé, vue de la chambre sur le lac très belle. Calme et grande sérénité !
Accueil agréable, professionnel et attentif.
Merci pour la bouilloire et les tisanes dans la chambre, c'est une délicate attention.

Very nice establishment, well located on the lake, with ample parking and a very good restaurant. The bedroom and bathroom, with a view of the lake, were large and spacious. Breakfast offers quality products but on the other hand, very sweet (cakes, sweet yogurts, etc.). Some sugar-free yoghurts or cottage cheeses as well as sweets would be welcome for people who should not eat sweets. Finally, the staff are really charming and welcoming. He takes great care of you, remembers your preferences... We had a very pleasant stay.

The location of the hotel is superb. We were on half board. The welcome and staff were good and friendly. The room was okay, but the highlight was the terrace which allowed for a breathtaking view of the lake. The bathroom was really a disaster, space wise, you had better not be overweight. The toilet was in the back of the bathroom wedged between the wall and the sink. It was clear that it required at least a refreshment. This bathroom issue was already reported in previous reviews. We can also notice on the site, that there are no photos of the bathroom. There was enough storage and it was easily accessible. The food offered was not, for us, of the "Restaurant Gourmand" level, which speaks to you of generous cuisine in a neat setting. Nothing to say about the setting as it was a continuation of the view from the room, but what about the food???? We do not know if it is the fact that we were on half board, we were offered a menu for an estimated amount of 32 Euros, a compromise between the menus offered between 29 and 35 Euros. The imposed choice was not always in line with what one would have expected in a region located near the sea (salmon on a bed of sauerkraut, black pudding). When we asked if we could be offered something other than the imposed menu, we were told to taste first??? We had the impression that our remarks were not taken into account and that leaving the imposed menu created a lot of problems??? We never said we weren't ok with paying extra if we had to eat a la carte. We received a small gift when we left to apologize for the inconvenience of our last meal in the evening, which in a way confirms our assessment. In summary superb place but the restaurant is to be forgotten as soon as possible. We can understand that we are coming out of a difficult period for independents, but we do not think it is a good idea to reduce the quality in order to attract customers again.
