This hotel in the Logis network offers good value for money, but I am worried about its future as renovation work seems necessary.
The staff were pleasant and competent. Although the hotel is aging and lacks a lift, the value for money remains reasonable considering its location.
Excellent welcome. Good quality breakfast (cheeses, cereals, breads, etc.) with 'real coffee', which is becoming too rare not to mention. Very comfortable bedding. However, the room and bathroom (very clean otherwise) could use some renovation.
We were satisfied with our stay
The breakfast is very good and varied in a pleasant room. The location close to the shops and restaurants of the city center, and on the banks of the Loire is pleasant. The hotel is quiet. On the other hand, the rooms are dated and very old and require a complete refurbishment (bathroom with hip bath and curtain, bidet, sink faucet without mixer, toilet to be replaced, bedroom carpet and entrance damaged on the floor, old damaged furniture, etc. etc.). The distribution of heating in winter varies depending on the floor (hot on the 1st, cold on the 3rd)
Hello, as always in this very old establishment... the bathroom needs to be reviewed, the shower head doesn't hold, the toilet seat is loose, the paintwork.... The welcome is good. The quality/price ratio is not there.
Needs some renovations including 1 elevator but quality hotel
Surprising to discover a hotel that is as old as you want, the likes of which you don't see anymore. This hotel must have had its heyday with its carpets, bathtub and bidet (!) 1980s taps and its vast dining room overlooking the Loire, like the town of Gien, which has become sinister despite its assets. The customer parking lot reveals the hotel's rather unsightly back. The parking lot closure is very artisanal and unlocked, compensated for by cameras... Friendly staff, but unfortunately the place is soulless. All this is compensated for by the cleanliness of the place (although the carpet in the room....?) and the generous and very varied breakfast.
Very average condition of the establishment, room not before 4 p.m.??? Breakfast at 10 a.m. max and out at 11 a.m. max🤨🤨🤨
Impeccable welcome and service. The hotel offers a small restaurant with dishes made with local products and by a master craftsman. We tried it and it was absolutely perfect and at very attractive prices. We had never seen this in other hotels and we highly recommend taking advantage of it.
Old but with Charme. The team is very good: helpful and polite.
Zeer vriendelijk personeel, we voelden ons zeer welkom. Kamer keurig. Leuk restaurant op loopafstand was geweldig advies. Het is een ouder hotel wat eigen charme heeft , de douche mag wel een klein beetje verfraaid worden.
We zouden zo weer boeken!! Echt aanrader om 1-2 nachtjes te verblijven.

Really liked this hotel and would stay again. Staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful. The bed was really comfortable and immaculate clean bed linen.
Only let down was the bathroom. It looks like some have been refurbished, but ours hadn't. It was clean but really needed replacing. Also, one of the window shutters didn't open, so it was a bit dark. Overall, though, i would happily recommend this hotel.

The photos on the site do not reflect reality at all... it is much too old at the moment.
The welcome and reception were excellent and processed very efficiently. We were very surprised and delighted at the high quality and comfort of room that we were allocated. A very pleasant cozy feel to the room. The lounge/bar was very attractive with comfortable seating. The hotel faces the river and the free parking was at the rear of the property.

Very outdated hotel, cobwebs and spiders everywhere, it was very hot in the room, it was not possible to open the window because the window and the shutters were disgusting, full of cobwebs and spiders, stained carpet, cleaning done but not what you expect from a hotel, however the welcome is very good, the bedding is good quality as is the breakfast

The building is in its original state, however, pleasant and the welcome very good; on the other hand, poor rating for: broken air conditioning, broken hairdryer, a toilet with a fairly loud water flow noise every 10 minutes and a double bed made up of two single beds despite the exchange beforehand... a desire to satisfy the customer and welcome them well in words but not in deeds (except for the welcome)

Gien is a nice place and right in the middle of the distance we had to drive back from a funeral. The hotel is a shadow of its former lustre — as many buildings in the town - but it was very adequate with a nice view on the river, friendly staff, free wifi. The bathroom tap was a bit weak but the shower had full force. Big comfortable beds did not leave much more room, while a desk and a luggage stand were provided as well as cupboards in a small corridor.

"Old-fashioned" hotel, in its original state. Pleasant, quiet (thanks to the double windows facing the Loire) and well-located, even if some minor modernization work would be necessary to maintain a better standard: remove the carpet (yuck) and update the bathrooms and showers. The welcome was certainly much less cordial than the check-out experience. We've known the hotel for many years, but its appeal diminishes year by year. Major renovations are needed, both inside and out. Fortunately, the breakfast made up for a lot.

It's a shame there's carpet everywhere. It's not aging well, especially with the light beige carpet in the bedrooms, which was heavily stained when we arrived.

Very comfortable new bedding in an old hotel that needs updating. Quiet room and free parking were much appreciated. If the updating that started with the beds continues on the rest (replacement and improvement of the bathroom, renovation of the room, etc.) then we will be happy to return to this hotel.

With limited options in Gien, we had to decide on the night. Spacious room and quality bedding. Having stayed at this hotel during the hot summer months, air conditioning would not have been a luxury. The decor is a bit dated and the bathroom could use some updating. However, the room was very clean. The breakfast was excellent and the welcome was also friendly. A slight disappointment was the €16 supplement for early booking of the room. Overall, it's okay. The price/quality ratio is acceptable.

This hotel doesn't improve with age. The rooms are dated, the bathrooms are from another era. The breakfast is no longer appetizing, the bread isn't fresh (probably defrosted), the eggs have been replaced with scrambled eggs that are definitely not made on-site. The management doesn't seem to want to renovate the building... This hotel is good for a quick fix, that's all.

We booked a suite for 2 nights at €200 per night. The carpet in the room was not clean. The bathroom 😡the taps were completely rusty and the shower head pipes were broken, held only by the rubber hose. There was no soap in the dispenser, neither in the shower nor in the sink. Despite our declaration at reception, nothing had changed in the evening. A sore spot of poorly poured wood to hide the under-sink area and hospital-grade linoleum in the bathroom. No safe for a suite 🤷♂️ Extremely dilapidated room, lack of hygiene and maintenance, not recommended.
Condition of the floor is poor, stains all over the carpet, a shame for a 3*

I was given a first room with unmade beds. Then a second with urine on the floor and toilet seat. Finally, the third room was satisfactory, although the cleanliness was questionable... Very good breakfast.

Super friendly, my family and I really liked it
The rooms could do with a refresh (stained carpet, dilapidated bathroom, especially the toilet). The bedding is OK, however. Very good breakfast, but it's a shame to have an extra espresso coffee in the morning, otherwise coffee in a thermos.
Personnel très accuillant et professionnel, qui m a aidé pour chaque demande.
Chambre décevante: pas de chauffage dans la chambre (jour ou il a neigé!), bonde du lavabo coincée empechant l ecoulement, prise electrique ne finctionnant pas. Le carrelage de la baignoire est en train de partir.
La personne a l accueil a été très réactive à chaque fois et et m'a tout de suite fourni un radiateur mobile par exemple.
Les chambres auraient vraiment besoin de rénovation et plus d entretien.

Excellent location, wonderful view, exemplary cleanliness. As you always have to find a fault, there is no elevator. Another point, independent of the hotel, why does the city of Gien have to pass (and pass twice) a very noisy leaf collection machine at 6:30 in the morning :(. Overall 5 star stay, we will return.

Very well located hotel, on the banks of the Loire, easily accessible with a friendly and professional welcome, benefiting from parking with a very good quality-price ratio. The beds are comfortable and the room was clean. Only small downside: a refresh of the bathroom and the decoration of the room would be necessary.

Spacious and very clean room, large bed, impeccable bathroom. Very nice home. A special mention for ADELICE who served us a breakfast with many fresh products and always with a smile and helpfulness which got us started on a pleasant day.

The staff, parking, location and breakfast are all good. The room had been updated mostly and was okay. The real issue is with the overall condition of the hotel exterior, lobby, stairs, etc. It all needs an update and some investment. We found the Wifi totally inadequate.

Notre « suite classique » (réservée au prix d’un placard à balai dans une grande ville), est une belle et grande chambre avec vue sur la Loire, dotée d’un très grand lit confortable, d’une entrée indépendante et de deux salles de bain !
Parfaitement équipée, la chambre comporte aussi deux bureaux et un canapé, ainsi que la climatisation dont nous n’avons pas besoin en ce mois de mai plutôt frais.
La décoration est classique, voire un peu vieillotte, mais c’est ce qui nous plait !
Le petit déjeuner est servi dans une salle agréable qui donne aussi sur la Loire. Il est simple, mais bon. Le pain, notamment, est excellent !
Le personnel est d’une gentillesse et d’une prévenance remarquables.
Il suffit de traverser la route pour se promener agréablement le long de la Loire. Le centre-ville est accessible à pied en moins de 10 minutes.
Le petit plus est la possibilité de se restaurer jusqu’à 21h30 avec des bocaux de qualité proposés à un prix raisonnable (25 € pour entrée + plat + dessert) et des vins de la région.
Les seuls petits défauts de l’hôtel sont :
- Eloignement de la gare de Gien (30 minutes à pied. Heureusement, les services de taxi sont disponibles et efficaces). Si on est en voiture, on peut se garer facilement juste en face de l’hôtel.
- Pas d’ascenseur, alors que notre chambre est au troisième étage. Heureusement, nous n’avons des affaires que pour trois jours.
- Une seule carte pour accéder à la chambre, ce qui n’est pas toujours pratique à deux.

Very good overall. On the other hand, check in at 5 p.m. so much too late... you can pay an early check in of €18 to access the room earlier. It's expensive despite a typical arrival time in other hotels. A plus would be to have a coffee maker and tea maker in the room

Hotel with a slightly old decor but very nice. The staff is very welcoming. A small downside, the hollow on the path that leads to the parking lot: My car is low and rubs against the ground, even when almost stationary.
