A very beautiful establishment well located on the banks of the river with a breathtaking view, the room is spacious and comfortable, the welcome warm and professional, the catering is very refined and excellent gourmet.

A very pleasant and quiet place by the river, a room upstairs apparently to be redone (meh/bad smell when arriving) A mirror light in the bathroom that turns on by itself in the middle of the night and turns off!?! A shower in the bathtub very dangerous (slippery / shower head badly placed / not holding), towels in an unacceptable state (to be thrown away) frayed / worn / rough Window handle with rusty nail (dangerous), an entrance door to the room building that remains open or must be closed with a loud noise (for the neighbors). Restaurant Well there it is a real discovery of happiness as much by the staff, as the dining room, A simple but pleasant menu, very good dishes well prepared and tasty! A very diversified wine list

Hotel Auberge chosen a bit by chance, originally we wanted a hotel in Vouvant but there isn't one (if there is, they are poorly listed on Google). We came across the Auberge de la Rivière and really no regrets since the sites we wanted to visit were relatively close. Superb experience. A very beautiful bucolic interlude at the foot of the river. Peace and nature. The restaurant, the menu, the a la carte menu, everything is to die for, a real treat for the taste buds. The staff is friendly, all in all a very nice experience that we highly recommend.

We arrived at a hotel with a charming setting; we were welcomed by a smiling, caring and professional team. We dined at the hotel restaurant, more precisely outside, by the river, and were able to taste the chef's delicious and inventive cuisine, highlighting local products. The service is impeccable. We slept very well in a pleasant room with a terrace on the ground floor overlooking the river; the bedding is very comfortable and the bathroom has a large shower. In the morning we had a delicious breakfast where many products are homemade. Everything was perfect! Thank you to the whole team for taking such good care of their customers!

We had an excellent stay, both in terms of food and hotel services. We will return with great pleasure.

Nice hotel with spacious, comfortable rooms and an excellent restaurant offering very good value for high-end cuisine. The lack of internet connection via wifi was disappointing and frustrating. Parking is a bit limited. Breakfast was good but there should have been staff on hand to refill the orange juice, milk and hot water, all of which ran out.

Very pleasant bucolic stay; helpful staff, comfortable bedding, quality meals (a little expensive). Only small downside: room on the 1st floor with neighbors on the ground floor who smoke, on the terrace, making it difficult to open the window when you are a non-smoker yourself.

This was the second time we stopped at this establishment, 3 years apart. We found the address in the Michelin guide. This hotel is still as good in every way. The owners and staff are very deserving!

Hotel chosen for its proximity to the Vendée River, its quiet location, rooms with access to the terrace. Very pleasant stay, admittedly a little short, in an extraordinary place. Absolutely won over by all the services offered (warm welcome, comfort of the room, beauty of the site, wonderful meal in a magnificent room and attentive staff), it is a place to discover.

Second stopover evening this year in this hotel, and again it was PERFECT! Spacious rooms and impeccable cleanliness, absolutely delicious restaurant, varied breakfast, copious and of a quality much higher than other accommodations practicing the same prices. A warm welcome full of smiles, all in a magnificent setting for 12 hours of vacation in the middle of the work week. A big thank you for all that!

A lovely hotel in a tranquil setting. Our room overlooked the river and, after a few hours driving, it was wonderful to sit on terrace and enjoy the peace. Service was excellent throughout. The evening meal was superb and the wine list comprehensive. An excellent place for an overnight stop, we’re definitely planning on staying again!

One or two faults with the room, bathroom floor tiles loose, dirty mark on wall above the bed, but comfortable with a lovely terrace and view onto the river. Food was a little expensive but was good quality. All in all an enjoyable stay.

The Auberge de la Rivière is a place full of charm, in an idyllic setting, and peacefully on the banks of the river. The owners are in the kitchen and produce cuisine that is always a pleasure thanks to its creativity and the quality of local products. Perfect welcome and service.

We had an excellent stay at the Auberge de la Rivière. All the staff were welcoming, smiling and attentive. The twin terrace room is comfortable and the view of the Vendée is really a plus. We will definitely come back!

for a week we benefited from a welcome that was as professional as it was pleasant and attentive. The rooms are conducive to well-being thanks to the proximity of the river. As for the restaurant, the choice is varied, always original and of high quality. In a word, we found our stay ideal in all respects.

What more can you say, apart from excellent in every way. The restaurant meal was superb, local produce, wide choice, extensive wine list and personalised service.

Perfect, very pleasant place, the terrace and armchairs when leaving the room a plus. At the restaurant, the tasting menu with top wines. A downside, we were too hot at night and there were no windows that we could open.

Decor from the 1950s, no storage units, I used the drawers of a desk. Very modest bathroom lighting, shower without mounting bracket, bedroom, black floor, dark gray and dark blue, anthracite gray walls, very small window. Sloped ceiling. 6 hangers in the chest wardrobe on the floor!! Wc common evacuation noise with the adjoining room black bathroom!!! Horrible and 'n the Booking note puts 9 or 10 !! Scam!!! A very very big spider on the wall at night!!!! Horrible !!!

Very good gourmet dinner (top flight) at a very reasonable price. Remarkable location on the edge of the Vendée (and no mosquitoes!) The downsides: no wifi working in our room in the annex building. At the reception, a more personalized treatment would be appreciated as well as a local newspaper to leaf through in the bar lounge area

The hotel was lovely and located in a quiet village away from the hubbub. After a long day travelling this was important. The room was well equipped and very comfortable overlooks the river. The hotel is pretty. Service is very good and the best hotel restaurant we have eaten at for many years. Fabulous food! We wish we could have stayed another night.

Beautiful setting by a river to listen to the birds. High quality bedding and spacious bedroom opening onto a terrace by the water. When in the restaurant then, words fail me, everything is cooked to perfection, with very high quality products. A mixture of original flavors, the work on cooking the vegetables is remarkable! Even the homemade bread is delicious! It is hostels like this one that make France famous and the happiness of travellers! THANKS !

Warm welcome, quiet and clean room and excellent restaurant! I highly recommend this establishment.

The room was a bit small and gloomy. There were no curtains, just a light-tight blackout curtain in front of the patio door - no other window. Passers-by could look straight into bed with the curtain open. However, each room had a pretty terrace surrounded by greenery by the river.

Idyllic setting, by a pea green, slow flowing river. Fantastic dinner menu, well matched wines, served on the terrace in a very attentive and friendly manner. Comfortable room, with excellent blackout curtains..Tea and coffee in the room. Many choices for breakfast, sweet and savoury, including a range of breads and cakes. Friendly, relaxed staff. Super value for money. We hope to return, soon!
