Most warm welcome from the receptionist. Restaurant and bar open, after a long drive that was brilliant.
There was oo team at this hotel, just 1 hard working young woman
The accomodation is fine but food was barely edible.
Thuis hotel must do what thee promesse. They sau that they have a restaurant 7 in 7. It was closed. When we came back from a restaurant in th town, We see a regular Customer who was eat in the restestaurant, the charchers for electric cars dont work. Whe had chosen this hotel for this two items. When we arrived the chef of the hotel was unfriendly.
Everything very good, very helpful staff. Single problem was a very uncomfortable mattress!
Hotel needs an overall refurbishment. It is tired
Staff were excellent, location excellent, rooms need a refresh otherwise no ossues
Friendly helpful staff. Our meal was beef skewers, they were disappointing- meat was tough
Very helpful and welcoming staff on arrival
Great for a stop over for the port. The staff are lovely!
Despite the convenience of location for leShuttle, I won't be staying here again.
very warm welcome, the meal was very good
We found the staff welcoming and helpful.
The hotel room was fine. A little dated but clean. great location.
Disappointed we couldn't get food in the restaurant at 9:20pm. The receptionist told us they weren't taking any more food orders although there were plenty of tables available and pointed us in the direction of some fast food outlets.
Good WiFi
Rooms dated and dirty.
Electric sockets hanging off the wall, plug sockets don't work, mould around the shower, bare rooms with no amenities and mismatched furniture, random switches that don't do anything. Gives the place a really run down shabby feel. Like staying in a car boot sale room. Bed small for 2.
No aircon or fan.
Heating looked very dubious.
Bathroom minimal. Paper cups.
Very poor vegetarian food options. No children's food options at all. No vegan options at all.
Came down to breakfast to find the staff member ogling women on his phone. Didn't seem to care that I'd noticed or that my 2 daughters also noticed.
Coffee machine broken.
No milk alternatives.
Basic breakfast. Small croissants and pain au chocolates.
It is near the tunnel. Still a very poor hotel though.
Personnel tres sociable et à l'écoute
Prend son travail trés à coeur
Les salles de bains auraient besoins d'un rafraîchissement
La literie devrait êtres changé et les drap sont trop petits
Super !! Eigene Parkplätze auf dem Gelände
Very convenient, needs updating
Great value for money positioned just outside city centre with secure parking. A short taxi to centre or beach or a long walk. Rooms clean and quiet at back with no views. Dinner menu a bit limited but adequate unless you are vegan or vegaterian. Amazing breakfast. Would recommend for a stop over of 1 or 2 days as Calais has much more to offer than the ferries.
Great location. Free parking outside hotel. Friendly and helpful host. Delightful breakfast. Room was clean and very comfortable bed. Although was a little small it was great for an overnight stay. I don't have anything negative to say about our visit
Hotel chosen by default given the low rating. There were no more places left elsewhere or at unreasonable prices this weekend of August 15. Admittedly the decoration is dated but that is the only point to complain about: the rooms are very clean and comfortable and the hotel is quiet and well located. We slept very well.
Qualité prix pas au rendez-vous, chambre sale , salle de bain avec moisissures
Hotel rather well located, close to the center, beach, etc... Easy to access. A small booklet with the key sites to visit in the region is available in the room. Which is rather well thought out for tourists.
I would say that the hotel needs a bit of modernization
Hotel well placed for visiting the region of the two Caps. Friendly team, concerned about the well-being of its customers.
Hello, thank you to the team for their know-how and interpersonal skills. The hotel is nice overall, however the bedding did not suit me, the bed was too low. For breakfast, it is not possible to eat cold cuts which are only pork, it would be wise to offer poultry, sausages, ham, etc. You have good local cheeses, it is a shame that you offer factory cheeses. No noise in the hotel, which is good. The hotel is in its original condition in the rooms regarding the decoration and the carpet in places is dirty with beautiful stains. The young man at the reception informed me that the hotel is going to have work! It's great! I would like to come back to the breakfast, the pastries are very good and the bread is excellent! I will come back as well as my friends! Think of people who do not eat pork please!
Se fut une première pour nous
Nous avons tres bien dormi le petit déjeuner étais corecte au prix nous avons manger a notre faim
La chambre était tres propre et bien insonorisé
Le personnel était serviables et tres agréable
Nous reviendrons avec plaisir
Booked a room, arrived and were told they were full.
Had to sleep in the car after travelling a whole day.
Very disappointing and wouldn’t wish that on anybody.
Very basic but decent for a short term stay. Clean. Limited service and English. Lovely and very helpful madam at reception
I booked via booking.com for one night for me and my 7 year old son as a pit stop on our way back to Dover. I requested a late check in which they agreed to saying it was no problem as they had a 24 hour reception. So on the day I was meant to check in I rang the hotel to confirm the check in time which they again agreed to. I arrived at the agreed time after driving from Paris only to be told there were no rooms. I showed the confirmation email and the receptionist retrieved my booking but still insisted there were no rooms. I was turned away at 4:00am with my 7 year old son after a four hour drive from Paris even though I provided evidence of my booking and turned up at the agreed time. The receptionist was unapologetic and the whole experience was awful. Do not trust this hotel, do not stay. P.s after all of that they have the audacity to send me an email asking me to rate my stay😂
The room was barely adequate - clearly designed for a single person not a couple. No wifi working in the room. Apparently the chef was on days off and had clearly left food to be reheated under the grill. Dos de cabaillaud was nigh inedible. One member of staff struggling to be receptionist, server, and chef - she did really well and could not have been more charming and willing to help. Same thing at breakfast - but not such good or pleasant service.
Did the job but was old and tired
Really handy for the A16 and Eurotunnel Terminal. Staff really helpful. Rooms are comfortable although the bathroom is a little cramped. Food was excellent, really enjoyed the evening meal, good menu.
Aesthetically unpleasing. Very white lighting. Damp room, had trouble sleeping. Feels a bit dirty because things like radiators are old and a bit rusty
The hotel is located conveniently close to Le Shuttle terminal.
The hotel was easy to find.
It has its own outdoor parking area on site.
The reception staff were helpful.
The room was adequate in size, comfortable with good facilities.
Overall a good experience.
As a single person I was made to feel very welcome...the staff were so friendly and polite ,I enjoyed my evening meal,my room was comfortable and clean ,good safe parking
Hello, I paid 20th for 2 stupid lunches, telling me it's until 11 a.m. and we arrive at 10:30 a.m. and the big carrot tells me too late, I was until 10 a.m. and they don't even reimburse me pffffff, real serious jokes
Great staff and close to the Eurotunnel
On out outward journey, there were sachets of tea and coffee but no kettle. I had to go down to reception to ask for one. We had booked a double room but there was only one towel, I had to go back to reception to request another bath towel. We have stayed many times and looked forward to the breakfast; this time however the breakfast for very poor in its quality and produce available. Having stayed many, many times, this was our last, we will not be staying again.
A nice hotel ideal for a city trip. There was a parking place, the hotel offered breakfast and in the evening dinner. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Filthy WC. Filthy, moldy shower. Smelly pillow. Terrible food.
Very polite night staff. Good location.
Adequate hotel, but tired around the edges
Friendly staff . Room ok but a little dated .
Food dissapointing . Frozen, microwaved
Nice hotel for travellers
Outside of the hotel looks nice . However it claims to have secure parking, this is not the case, no gate or barrier . It claims to be pet friendly but our dogs were not welcome in the bar area at breakfast.
We booked because it had an onsite restaurant, when we arrived we were told we coukdnt have food as it was booked for a private party !!!
The rooms are very tired ,i had the base ,but no kettle !!! . The toilet was very much like something from an old hospital ward facility .
Noisy, room very small
nice hotel. Rooms a little cramped. Wonderful helpful staff.
Convienient location. Helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Good resturant. Free parking.
Nice cottage with good service. Just price is a bit high.
The room is very basic, but some things do not work or are faulty. The tv didn’t work and the receptionist said ohh it’s the whole hotel. Lie as the coax cable had been cut and didn’t reach the tv. No kettle just the electric hub bit. The bathroom basin plug didn’t work you had to get under the basin and pull a lever that had parts missing and when it emptied out it filled the shower with black scum and water.
Staff laying on the sofa in the small lounge.
It’s a cheap place to stay but the basics should work. The breakfast is definitely not worth it.
I did find the EV charging station good
Het is een verouderd hotel en je hoort ‘s nachts echt alles, verkeer op straat, deuren, mensen op de gang,….
De parking is veel te klein voor alle kamers en je kan heel moeilijk in en uit je parkeervak met langere wagens.
Good welcome, very clean room, some outdated equipment. Calm.
There were people in the restaurant eating. When I asked how long the restaurant was open, I was told that the restaurant was closed and that the group was just cyclists. You couldn't get anything to eat or drink. The rooms were very run down, very thinly soundproofed and the price was way too high. I won't stay here again.
A young staff (man) was not friendly.
The electric plug in the room was damaged, I asked them to fix, they told me that it has been fixed, but it was not!!!
They called room at 10:40 and said, note that you must check out before 11:00, this is not friendly at alllllll
Very welcoming experience, nothing was to much trouble, very accommodating
Excellent very friendly
Hey not luxury but good value for the price and very convenient. Staff went out of their way to make us and our dogs welcome-thank you! We will definitely come back next time.
Very helpful and friendly staff, good parking facilities. Super clean good breakfast
I have never had such a bad stay anywhere as this place!
Wi-Fi- none existant on the firstly floors at all. The receptionist advised there was a current problem. Checking on previous reviews, this 'current' problem has been there for over at least 3 years!
Restaurant- the receptionist was also the bartender and waitress. Only one other couple dining (one of them returned their meal). €34 for a 3 course sub-standard meal. The bar is basically in the restaurant and I had to ask a party of 4, who’d been drinking heavily, to turn down their very loud ‘Bollywood’ music (the staff never intervened).
Room- a ‘twin’ bed room. Obviously 2 kid’s beds pushed together, 4 inch mattresses on a slatted base. No sleep whatsoever!
DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!
Everything was great, I would definitely come again.
This hotel deserves to be better maintained. The washbasin seals are loose, the heater has an auxiliary radiator, the shower seals are black... the style of the decoration dates from the 80s...
We have stayed here before but found the hotel rather shabby and in need of urgent refurb. No lights in corridor, very dated bathrooms and staff sleeping when we arrived for breakfast in the reception area. Laughable really.
We have been to this hotel possibly more than 20 times .. It is good access for the channel tunnel, But we find it very expensive in comparisson to other hotels we stop at on route to Spain. I complained the last time I was there to the receptionist about problems with the room . These hadn't been fixed . This time we were told that breakfast was served from 6.30am till 10 am . we arrived down at 10 .0 clock and the guy was hurrying us up saying we only had 20 minutes , we weren't the last down either.. I wasn't best pleased as he kept walking up and down obviously waiting for us to finish
Nice welcome staff. Good price and nice basic food
excellent brief stay
We like staying at the Cottage. It is getting a bit tired, but any problem is sorted out by the staff with cheerful service.
Simple and comfortable
Very welcoming and friendly. On-site dinner ideal after a long journey. Ideal for single travelers and very convenient for Euro Tunnel.
The hotel is ideally situated for the Channel Tunnel. However, it would very much benefit from a good refurbishment throughout, I first stayed here 17 years ago, and little has been done to change the decor or facilities since then. The staff, both at Reception and in the Dining Room were warm, welcoming and very pleasant and efficient. However, the food offerings, while adequate, do not meet the standard or quality of years gone by.
The establishment is OK, quite basic in equipment but very welcoming in reception and service. The bad rating for the arrival is because the access is not at all obvious, even if you can see the building from the road. The GPS gives wrong directions, and from time to time we arrive at the other side of a hedge!!
Everything is perfect for spending the night before or after Ferry: very good location ( close to Ferry and to the Motorway), free parking, 24 hours check- in and check- out), very friendly staff, good breakfast, good rooms( basic but everything you need: comfortable beds, heating, toilet and shower) . We will definitely stay again. Good value for money.
This hotel needs a complete renovation, the room was cold, you could not turn on the heater in the bathroom. All in all a poor night's sleep. Will not use this hotel again.
Internet is too slow and keeps stopping, not able to get evening meals over the New year when other restaurants are closed or over booked
Nice staff, comfortable and good food
Nothing to complain about Ideal location close to the main access points Very good value for money
Overall a very disappointing experience, I am disabled and needed a room with disabled facilities the “disabled” room we were given in our opinion is definitely NOT suitable for a disabled person. There was a bath but could not be used as with my disability I could not gain access to get into it, a walk-in shower as other hotels have is much more suitable, the bed was far too close to the wall and very uncomfortable I had to use my rollator as my wheelchair would not fit in the space provided, I do not recommend.
Great stay
I wanted a hotel with character and that's exactly what I got. Real people, real food
Friendly and clean
Good establishment, very pleasant welcome
Excellent staff. Friendly and welcoming. Extremely helpful overall, and especially with meeting the needs of my disabled travelling companion, despite the inadequacy of the hotel's provision in this respect.
Easily aaccesible from the autoroute.
Very hospitable staff.
Excellant value for miney.
Basic but very clean and comfortable
The bedroom was as clean as it could be, but the decor was outdated and in need of refurbishment. The bathroom was also
in need of refurbishment, for example the underside of the toilet seat was yellow with age and was quite off-putting. The restaurant was also disappointing, we were told that only the main courses were available, the were no starters or deserts
available.
Great location for motorway and onward travel. Little dated but comfortable, great value for money.
The parking is good and well lit at the front. It’s nice to have an actual person to welcome you even when it’s late. I’ve used your hotel a few times and will continue to do so.
Check in service adequate. To expect one man to act as barman, chef and waiter can only result in poor service.
Great location for Calais ferry terminal, we were going from Dunkirk (only 30 minutes away) but would stay here again, welcoming helpful friendly staff clean comfortable room. Can highly recommend.
a warm welcome with a caring attendant both on arrival and during meals
My experience was very complimentary - highly recommended….. Best value and best locality…. Super easy parking too. No problem
very good renovated hotel, very practical and functional for a weekend stay
Breakfast is good, and the location is very near the Tunnel, but very far from being a Logis Cottage!
Staff were helpful and friendly, but the facilities were very basic and cramped.
Overall, room was over-priced.
Dry good staff
Nice staff, but the walls are very thin and my neighbor was on the phone for a long time at night and I couldn't sleep
One night stay traveling through Europe. Very friendly staff. Good value for money although a bit far away from the city center.
For the price you can't complain, not the most modern but has everything you need, booked for a night before a ferry crossing and slept well, surprised it had tea & coffee in the room, easy access to plugs for charging anything, friendly staff when checking in and leaving, plenty of space in the car park
Clean room, clean sheets - if you just need a room for the night in Calais this is good value for money.
I liked the unusual location, not to far walking from Calais centre.
Very happy with our stay - will be back
Clean and reasonably comfortable. Fine for an overnight stay.
it's my 3rd times to this hotel and I was very shocked this time, it's different Room every time and all dirty, never again, no air-conditioning, in the winter no hot water, even I need hotel every month for my Business, but it's gonna last time I use this hotel
Well... no more 😅
nice budget price hotel. Perfect for an overnight stay when leaving the Shuttle leaving you ready and rested for your onward journey. Food was adequate. The hotel really benefits from the helpful and pleasant staff.
WIFI not working contrary to what the hotel reception tells us. I was able to log in at 10:00 p.m. Tight bathroom. Weird breakfast without a tray to help yourself to, you have to go back and forth 50 times to help yourself. Croissants not cooked, crushed by anything appetizing. Bad coffee in the vending machine.
Most of the time there was only one member of staff available, to book in, serve at the bar, waitress, answer in coming phone calls. washing and drying bar glasses. There was an obvious delay for customers wanting any of these services.
The décor, furnishings have not changed for approximately 30 yrs. Shower dirty with coving falling down.
For a one night stay ideal, good parking food eateries quite near. 10mins to ferry and train
Room dated and in need of upgrading . Bathroom particularly , no anti slip Matt in deep shower tray that required a big step in and out making it dangerous. Thin , worn towels . Shower curtain dirty and soap stained grout .
Excellent location for the tunnel, staff very helpful, food very good and reasonably priced, rooms could do with an upgrade but adequate and clean
Excellent staff, extremely pleasant and very helpful
The lady at reception was amazing, she was so polite and welcoming.
We use this hotel a lot - it is a perfect overnight stop before taking LeShuttle early the next morning.
The rooms are small and basic but perfectly clean and comfortable with everything you need.
Breakfast is good.
Evening meal is average/good
Price is reasonable.
I chose the hotel as a base for exploring the area on my motorbike. I was 2hrs earlier before check in but the lovely lady on reception made me a coffee while I waited. For my room . The room was spot on for my needs . The continental breakfast was lovely and so was the evening meal . The hotel is used as a stop over for travellers heading to the ports but I was more than happy to spend two nights there . All the staff were courteous and nothing was any bother for them . Location was great and within 20 minutes you was in the country side and in easy access to the ww2 sites and the seaside.
lower cost option for a few hours sleep after arriving on ferry
hotel very tired
breakfast very basic.
not worth the 90 plus euros
felt I needed to apologise to my partner
sorry but that's how I saw it
The hotel is pleasant and very good value for money. The room very clean. Kind staff.
The accommodation was possibly the poorest quality that I have encountered for several years.
Rooms not very clean and really drab.
Two of the female staff were extremely rude and argumentative towards us and I was quite shocked at how aggressive they were. (This was witnessed by some other guests)
I would not recommend this establishment based on the my experience.
The €10 breakfast was non-existent. 2 slices of Ham, 4 slices of Salami and a Baguette lying on the table...
I know times are hard but, this was a really poor show by any standards.
Le personnel est sympa, le logement est propre, je suis reparti détendu!
a total disaster i booked a room but for a delay at Dover i went there the day after to re book the room paying a fee , the lady there told me that it was full but the parking outside was empty they have kept my money without giving a service , i would also like to point out that the night before i didn't sleep at all i was on a bike heading to Italy i was tired and exhausted risking to make accidents , and they didn't show comprehension , very disappointed as i was already one of their client previously . total disaster do not get there !
Practical location for a transit stay, with a very good breakfast and pleasant attention. Recommendable!!
This hotel is ok just for stay a night during the travel because is close to the Calais ferry port
Friendly, professional and trained staff. Accommodation clean and good in relation to the price
Good place to stay only 5 mins from the Chunnel terminal
I was very disappointed with the structure, they asked me if I wanted to have dinner and at 20.00 they didn't let me eat because according to them it was late and they already had a group. Note that the hotel is up a lane off any walking services for a single female. In the morning, after missing dinner, I asked for breakfast and no! It wasn't possible because I hadn't booked. I think that if you have a very decentralized structure, flexibility and the possibility of providing a paid service to a hotel guest is essential. You don't send a person to bed without dinner! Maybe offer a frugal sandwich, but above all don't let him leave in the morning without even a cup of coffee! Terrible! Bad service!
|Restaurant not so good as previously
Decent standard hotel, well located not far from the coast, but not easy to find due to road construction. Friendly staff. Decent room. No noise pollution during my stay.
Staff very friendly snd helpful but hotel old & tired, room not very clean though bed was comfortable. In urgent need of refurbishment, the bathroom in particular was terrible.
Noisy hotel room opposite with people who care little about others then snoring in one of the rooms next door. No soap in the shower dispenser, old paper cup in the shower, very slow flow. Curtain rod (thin sheer) that fell in the night while I was sleeping
Excellent hotel, spacious and comfortable room. The advantage is to be close to the beach. And finally, a very warm welcome from the staff.
Okay
Small rooms yet comfortable
We arrived and they lied and told us they'd sent a message to say the family rooms were all gone, which is what we booked and paid for! After alot if moaning, as they wanted to give us 2 separate rooms, separating our family, which was not acceptable, they gave us a room, with a separate room for the kids, which was very very basic, with cold water in the shower. It had a musty old smell about the rooms... This was meant to be a suite?? Awful... Not happy that they lied because obviously they messed up before we arrived, but no email was sent to me whatsoever!
Very good for a stopover in Calais before embarking for England.
Perfect location for tunnel, and a clean spacious room. Staff all delightful.
Excellent value for money 6mins from the station
Needs renovation
Ideal for tunnel
The manager is excellent: innate sense of hospitality and the resolution of small problems
We wanted to use the restaurant and arrived around 17h00, they were unable to offer a place in the restaurant before 21h20
it's a good restaurant, we used it on the way out to England about 2 weeks previously, we had to go to Courte Paille which has since CLOSED.
Only other option nearby is Burger King No Thank you
Near LeShuttle!
Breakfast is over priced
Pleasant staff as well as the room cleaners who were also friendly.
Ok place for overnight stop no problems.
Good location, really good meal in the restaurant.
A super little hotel with an excellent range of facilities. Friendly and welcoming staff.
Pleasant welcome . Was able to help with me request for a room near reception . Able to make hot drinks in my room . Good wifi .
I didn’t realise that breakfastwas included. I think it would be a good idea for reception to inform customers of this when checking in. I didn’t realise this until it too late and because I was waiting for someone to pick me up from the hotel I had to wait in reception therefore had no breakfast .
Easy to reach and affordable hotel. Friendly people and good service.
A pleasant stay
20 minutes walk from the center. Free parking. Decent room; little noise. good bedding. very friendly welcome. We can arrive late. Its an asset
Very good value for money
Excellent, we hope to be back when we have finished our holiday
Wonderful greeting with a genuine smile. Receptionist was lovely. Easy to find, Parking secure, food was very good and the bed was comfy. Best shower I've ever had. Great UK TV channels too. Hard to fault.
As a budget hotel, close to the Tunnel it does the job!.
Lovely made the stay wonderful experience
Very good stay, impeccable welcome as well as the cleanliness of the room and very good breakfast with a lot of choice. I highly recommend
Very attentive staff.
Good meal and breakfast
Parking available
Near motor way and euroty
Disappointed restaurant closed on Monday evenings.
We had to fix the shower head ourselves to make it work
I called to the hotel, because I want an invoice, and man hang up on me. Now he doesn't pick up. I don't know why.
A single person for reception, kitchen (diner!), bar and service with at least 15 hungry guests, an impertinence primarily for the person but also for the guests. But the employee made the best of it and, considering the adverse circumstances, did a great job!
Compared with local rival used the week before, tea making facility yes, but no bottled water, cardboard cups, dog 5euros dearer. However does have a restaurant and we had a good meal.
I noted very disappointing because until past midnight there was a huge racket. People were laughing, talking extremely loudly in the dining room, as well as in the hallway, we were on the ground floor. The doors were slammed shut. We had 800 km of road today and I absolutely did not rest. The soundproofing needs to be reviewed and calm should be demanded after 10 p.m.
Staff very helpful, but room and general fabric of the hotel past it's best. Bed hard and uneven, needed to be replaced.
Reliable. Middle of the road facilities.Welcoming staff.
Condition reflected in the cost of stay. Cannot judge catering as restaurant was completely booked. Not much choice locally for dining.
It feels like 1920s hotels. Mold on the joints in the bathroom, shower curtain (germ nest alert) very old-fashioned. Almost non-existent reception
Ras
The decor was tired looking. The ladies on the front desk were very helpful and went the extra mile with us and other clients during the stay.
Basic accommodation but very clean room lovely staff and all you need, fab location from tunnel. No frills but good price.
This is an excellent hotel, highly recommended. Very helpful multilingual staff, the rooms spotless and I had as many free coffees as I wanted. We also got extra pillows for free, which contributed to an excellent night’s sleep. We could open the window at night so the room was nice and cool. There’s extra towels provided and a nice mix of tea and coffee in the room. The location is fantastic, close to Calais ferry terminals and some charming seaside towns like Sangatte. It’s easy to visit the six nuclear reactors at Gravelines too, and we had a five star meal at Les Petits Bouchons, close to the quiet, bunker-studded dunes. We would definitely come back!
Proved to be a good overnight stop - from the Tunnel and ready for our onward lourney to Switzerland the next morning.
Very helpful staff
A good stay before shuttle
For a 1 night stay en-route to the UK it is ideal with easy access from A16 and back for the Eurotunnel.
Welcoming budget hotel. Helpful staff. Clean and comfortable. Evening meal lovely. Great position near to the tunnel and ports
This is a good place to stay near the Eurotunnel. No frills but clean comfortable and convenient.
Would like bigger coffee cups!
Very comfortable stay.
Try to find a good clean hotel when you have a pet is always a challenge. The Logis Cottage is all that clean comfortable and very welcoming. No problems would definitely stay here again.
Lovely staff very clean
Very nice staff, private parking, lovely evening meal
We stayed only one night but the hotel was clean, staff was welcoming.
Maybe the breakfast was a bit overpriced for the choice (10 pounds).
It was amazing the fact the hotel was pet friendly as not everyone offer this service for a total good price :)
Definitely recommend
Friendly welcome and good food, at a very reasonable price
Wonderful helpful staff and a delicious meal - steak, and salmon.
Thoroughly recommended.
The room was cold and had to sort heating myself. One set of towels for two people. Bathroom cold no heating. Hot water was available but took some time to run hot, wasteful of water. Toilet flush wobbly took some movement to work. Light in corridor on timer switch clicked off before reaching room every time. Location was good for on off main road and to tunnel. Some restaurants and City Europe near. Apart from the previous ok for nights stay. Other Logis hotels have been better.
We have stayed at the Cottage Hotel, Calais many times and we have always found it to be a comfortable and friendly budget hotel. However, this time the room that we stayed in was in very poor condition. The bedside shelf was broken and sagging down. The material around the edge of the table had come off and would get caught in my clothes as I passed by the table. Also, the lace curtain over the window was no attached to the wall or window and when I tried to open it so see out, it fell off. The headboard of the bed had been replaced, but the wall had not been repainted and still showed the outline of the old headboard.
I would do the experience again but a little freshening up would not be refused, such as plumbing, painting and sanitary furniture.
