A friendly welcome, a large room with a bathroom, and comfortable beds. Friendly and attentive service in the restaurant and at breakfast. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired.

Arrived on Sunday evening to be at my client's house early on Monday morning. Restaurant quite busy for a Sunday evening, 30 minutes before they took my order, meal lasted almost 2 hours. Once in the room impossible to get a watchable TV channel, the TNT does not work!!! And you indicate on the website cable TV!!! It may not be important but it is a service not rendered.

Wij zijn voor de tweede keer naar dit hotel gegaan omdat we vorig jaar het eten zo goed vonden. Het hotel is prima. Kamers, bedden en ontbijt goed. Vriendelijk personeel. Helaas vonden we de kwaliteit van het diner dit jaar veel minder. Vooral de prijs-kwaliteitverhouding. Echt jammer. Vorig jaar zat het restaurant helemaal vol, nu waren er maal een paar tafels gevuld. Hier zal aan gewerkt moeten worden, daar het hotel juist op culinair vlak hoog aangeschreven stond.

We received a very friendly welcome. The room was very spacious. We were particularly impressed by the high wooden ceiling and the good furnishings.
Room 6 was rather small - we had enjoyed larger rooms on previous visits - and lacked towels. Even those which were brought when requested from reception were on the small size and rather threadbare. There was nowhere to lay a suitcase. The reading lights either side of the bed suffered from terminal droopiness, so some refurbishment and tlc would be in order. Breakfast was excellent as was our evening meal. The staff were charming and not invasive.

The room was not proper. (Hair in de showerdrain) and the matrasses in need of changement. When we opent the window there was a lot of mess, didnt look very clean and the schades didn’t work…
There was no shower only a hand held in a bath. The pressure on the water was very low.

We've been coming to this hotel for over 15 years. It's always excellent. Beautiful, spacious rooms (especially after the extension), comfortable beds, clean rooms, and delicious food. A friendly atmosphere and staff. BUT... the hotel was taken over in November 2024, and the owner is unable to create a friendly welcome and atmosphere. He's a very grumpy man who sits behind his computer and asks your name without saying hello, then directs you from reception where to eat. We stayed and ate here both on our way there and back. The first time, you might think, "Oh, this man is having a bad day," but the second time, it was exactly the same. It's such a shame, because the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. And the food is good. We think it's a shame that what the previous owner has built up over all those years can negatively impact the atmosphere due to this man's attitude and presence. My French isn't such that I can speak to him about it and tell him that a smile and a proactive attitude can be helpful. Well, we enjoyed our stay, and changes happen. We'll definitely be back.

After seeing the room we decided to cancel it on the spot. The room smelled very musty and everything was old. The bathroom also smelled of urine. The young man who welcomed us was very nice.

We hebben niets dan goeds te melden over het hotel. Het hotel heeft alles gedaan binnen hun mogelijkheden om voor ons een oplossing te zoeken. Personeel was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam alle lof voor hun op alle fronten.
Helaas heeft de Logis organisatie voor ons een negatieve invloed gehad. We hadden in november al een boeking gemaakt met de mededeling dat we oude mensen bij hadden die erg slecht ter been zijn. Dus ook bewust vroeg geboekt om er zeker van te zijn dat we geschikte kamers zouden hebben. Onze vraag was lift en/of kamer op de begane grond. Zodat er geen trappen gelopen hoefde te worden. Ook aangegeven dat dit niet mogelijk was. Wat krijgen we 2 kamers waarbij ver gelopen moet worden en er trapjes en trappen zijn. Geen douche waar je in kan lopen maar een bad waar je in moet stappen om je te kunnen douchen. Mensen van 85 jaar die slecht ter been zijn kun je dit niet aan doen. Ze hebben geen keuze gehad en konden zich niet douchen. Ook hadden we 3 kamers geboekt en kregen we er 2. 1 voor 2 personen en 1 voor 4 personen. Niet echt fijn maar daar komen we wel overheen.
Het hotel heeft alles gedaan wat kon, maar was volgeboekt en waren er geen andere kamers beschikbaar voor ons. Ze hebben aangeboden om een ander hotel te zoeken maar omdat voor mijzelf de matrassen erg belangrijk zijn als zwaar rug patiënt hadden we weinig keuze dan te blijven. Ook ik heb niet kunnen douchen omdat ik niet in het bad kon stappen.
Dit was onze laatste vakantie als gezin/familie, we vinden het erg jammer dit dit zo gelopen is en heeft dit een stempel gedrukt op deze vakantie.
Het hotel heeft een mooi geste gedaan en hopelijk gaat logis hier iets mee doen richting de eigenaar van het hotel. Zodat hij hier niet voor op hoeft te draaien.
We were here many times when Sofie was the owner. Always very good en superb food. Now there is a new director and we were very dissapointed. The food was very bad and also very expensive. We will never return.

Very warm welcome, very nice accommodation and very good breakfast. Apart from a small problem during the first dinner because the bottles of wine ordered took a very long time to arrive: my wife had finished her hot starter... I waited... because the starter was cold... Good food, quite generous

Very nice hotel and restaurant discovered during a visit for my work, Welcome, room, catering, everything was perfect. I only removed one star for comfort because the second night, the heating was almost off and it was not very warm in the room, nothing serious. Hotel very well located on the Belgian border, with many things to discover, the abbey of Scourmont near Chimay, the magnificent medieval castle of Bouillon not to be missed, and, on the way back down towards Franche Comté, Verdun and its many ruins. Thank you to all the friendly team for their welcome.
Pleasant and well-located hotel Spacious room, very comfortable, modern, probably recently renovated Restaurant very disappointing despite a promising menu No more homemade tripe, even though we were at the table at 7 p.m. The perfect egg, smoked potato emulsion.... was tasteless and did not provide any taste satisfaction The half lobster must have been a very young baby, it must not have weighed more than 15g I think, very abusive on the part of a chef The Pomerol was good, but on the one hand we were not allowed to taste it and on the other hand it would have been beneficial to decant it So big disappointment in terms of the restaurant, a lot of improvement to be made.

After a first stopover evening almost a year ago, it was with pleasure that I returned to this hotel, with the same satisfaction, whether for the catering or for the accommodation.
I was here for the second time; the hosts are very friendly, the rooms are spacious and clean. Comfortable beds, good food and nice breakfast.
Very spacious, comfortable room. Excellent shower, excellent bed. Perfect blackout and very quiet. Excellent breakfast, but rather limited in choice. Scrambled eggs and bacon would be an asset. Presentation is a bit messy. There is certainly room for improvement here. Dinner with high-quality products, excellent wines. A bit of a long wait for an aperitif, otherwise excellent. A minibar in the room would fit in well with the rest of the room. Excellent hotel restaurant with excellent price-quality ratio.

Hotel is good, although a bit of a maze. Do choose the more expensive room, they are in the new part and are spacious and pleasant. But the restaurant ABSOLUTELY does NOT deserve the qualification 'Restaurant Gourmand'! After an exhausting ride we sat down hungry, and only then heard that there was no choice from the extensive menu that can also be found on the website. No 'Hunter's menu', no meat from their own farm, but an insignificant fish pie, straight from the freezer of the supermarket. Only later do we read, very small, at the bottom of the internet page where the mouth-watering menu is also located, that there is no choice on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and that one menu is served. We would have liked to have known that before making a reservation!!!

A warm welcome; comfortable and spacious room (well equipped and furnished); excellent dinner and friendly and efficient staff. We first stayed here over 20 years ago with our young sons (who are now parents themselves), and have been back intermittently since. There is a very good reason we come back! Very many thanks to all staff at the hotel - we look forward to our next visit with you.

Concerning the restaurant, the choice is quite limited but they are good local products. The appetizer leaves something to be desired because it is identical all 3 days!

Room is ordinary. Large bright bathroom with separate toilet. Price of drinks is off-putting. Breakfast and dinner were good, taken on site due to the discouraging quality-price ratio.

Everything was great, but it is a shame that when booking we were not informed that on Wednesdays the restaurant is closed. In fact it is a Gourmet relay and we were not able to take advantage of it. We had a unique menu not extra. Breakfast is average.
Very good value for money
Rurally located chambres d'hôtes, accessible via stairs. We had breakfast here and in the evening we were able to enjoy a 3-course meal carefully prepared by the hostess. We were welcomed by the hostess and host for dinner with an appetizer of Pinot de Charantes and had a delicious meal. The hostess bakes the baguette herself and it is delicious. We will definitely come back!
It was a great pleasure for us to be guests in this place. The room was excellent, the food was wonderful, the service very friendly.

If you want a truly gastronomic, authentic, tasty French 3 course dinner made from locally grown food, his is the place to choose. We would highly recommend the set menus just 35 Euros. It was the best meal we had all week and hands down beat others at twice the price. The staff were so friendly and helpful to assist us. Breakfast was plentiful and the fresh local bread heavenly. Simply could not fault this Auberge. it was simply DELIGHTFUL.

The smallest places you can take a look at the other places, but you can see the hotel at the door of the hotel when it comes to the 'verkocht'. De kamers waren ruim met modern sanitair en alles was uitermate schoon. 's-Avonds hebben wij heerlijk gegeten in het hotel voor een prijs, die bijna 'vooroorlogs' is. The damage was a bit higher and it was easier to get rid of it. Dit alles werd ondersteunt door uitermate vriendelijk personeel, die absolut de bedoeling had om voor je te zorgen. Auberge de l'Abbaye is now open!
