I have been coming here for about 20 years, always friendly staff, excellent meals, and never resting on its laurels the rooms, and food get better every time - and after a log drive the spa and pool is a great way to unwind

A wonderful overnight stay in tranquil surroundings. Our small lodge was well equiped and comfortable although I would have liked an opening window.

This is a great stopover hotel - especially if you have pets. You can park right outside your room (other residents' ineptitude notwithstanding) and there are extensive grounds for walking and exercising your dog. We have eaten in the restaurant but we find it to be very expensive and the bar prices very high for France.
Breakfast is good value - usual continental offering plus hot food.
We have stayed here three times and you can't beat it for convenient access to the motorway when travelling across France.
Rooms have everything you need, great shower although this last time our room had a weird smell.

A perfect place to stay driving south from Normandy to the Alps. The staff were lovely, the room was really clean and tidy and I would really recommend it.

A nice stay in a clean, comfortable hotel. Good restaurant, nice views, just off the Motorway, easy access, good location to break our journey from south to north France. Relaxing in the Spa, but they need to switch on the sauna before guests arrive, it took too long to heat up to use, and there was no drinking water available. It would be easier if the towels were made available from the Spa rather than returning back to the hotel reception up the hill! A small comment, it was awkward to get into the toilet in our room as the large door open inwards very near the toilet.

I have stayed at Le Val Moret many times over the past 10 + years and it is my number 1 hotel of choice when travelling between UK and the alps, winter or summer.

Another excellent stay, lovely room, fantastic meal in the restaurant. They always have interesting Champagnes at good prices by the glass and a good and varied wine list. The menu changes quite often and there is an imaginative use of seasonal ingredients with a good mixture of themed dishes and classics. I stayed twice in August and had two superb meals. I had a lovely room with a view. The ability to park right outside the room is a big bonus. The location close to the autoroute is super-convenient without being noisy and the grounds are very nice.

The staff were all friendly and everything was explained to us. Even called us on our way their to ask if we would like a table booking for our evening meal which made us feel very welcome.

I always go to Val de Moret. It's in a great location, it's a beautiful place and well-maintained.

Another peaceful night at the hotel, the bed is so comfortable! Just slightly disappointed that the sausage with the garlic was not available at breakfast. Never mind, perhaps next time ;-)

Too expensive, noisy VMC, difficult door lock, no safe, cramped room

Staff friendly, rooms clean and spacious although bed could be better due to mattress a little too thin and uncomfortable.

We stay in rooms 39-41 which are better quality than some others. We have stayed many times and enjoy the pool and restaurant very much. So easy to get to from the Autoroute as well.

In room 39 the drain in the shower area was struggling to cope with the water flow. I suggest a plumber cleans out the trap.

Nice quiet location. Perfectly placed.

The overall service offered is pretty good. However, we were very disappointed to have the only room on the ground floor without a terrace, French window with a small table and chair overlooking the countryside. Photos of this room were of course not used to present the reservation proposal. When we booked, only the other rooms were used to show what the room type was. So false advertising. Especially since it's the same price. But without the view, without the terrace, without direct access to the outside, etc. In addition, a second disappointment when we realized that the annex is not on the same land as the hotel. And in addition, false information concerning the distance of 300m announced when we are 500m away. Further at the entrance to the village. So not next door to enjoy the spa which is even further below the land where the hotel is located. And the same for breakfast or other things. Really not practical. Furthermore, the pool was clearly not at 28 degrees as advertised. We are used to pools and this one was cold and therefore not at 28 where we have already had the chance to swim in other establishments. Also, the paid bathrobe rental is abused in our opinion, once again elsewhere it is offered for free. And finally, breakfast was quite expensive for the service offered. So yes, most of the products are good products but that does not justify the price in our opinion. Especially since the pastries are not homemade, nor the hot drinks. The orange and multi-fruit juices are quite basic. The jams are far too sweet for our taste. For the rest of the breakfast, overall very good. And we will end on a positive note, the staff is helpful, available and smiling. The room is quiet and the bedding comfortable.

Consistently good service, comfortable though simple rooms with excellent showers. DOA area and pool - superb. Door in restaurant always excellent. Have stayed here many times en route to the Alps and the south.

Delightful staff and family. I know from previous experience very dog friendly too. Our room was next to the new extension which will be excellent but as a result we had no outside table by the room.
The dinner was excellent with very good service. My only small quibble (with many but not all) logis is that I would like proper glasses in the bathroom rather than the paper cups - also mugs in the bedroom .

We ( two adults and a 3 years -old child) spent one night in this hotel while travelling to our holiday destination. We enjoyed the hotel area very much, because of the position close to the highway and still very nice and green hotel surroundings. Our child was happy to have the possibility to run around and enjoyed the small playground under the trees. The hotel concept with separate buildings was very practical as you can park directly in front of your room door. The room was spacious and clean. Only one thing we didn't like was the carpet floor. We also had a little balcony with a view of cornfields and the highway. ( you could hear it at night, when you leave the window open, but it's perfectly still when closed.) Even the air conditioning wasn't disturbing at night and yet very quiet. The sleeping sofa was comfortable, the mattress in the bed little bit too hard as well as the pillows ( which is very subjective). The dinner we had in the hotel restaurant was delicious, one of the best we had in France ! The stuff was very friendly and even tried to speak English with us, which is also not usual in France. We will definitely come again, when we travel through France.

Beautiful hotel, great location near the highway, large and quality indoor pool. Very professional staff, both at reception and in the restaurant. Listening to the needs of its customers. The only downside is the soundproofing of the rooms; we can hear the shower and door noises quite easily in the evenings and mornings.

The bathroom has a large bath but you have to sit in it to shower. There is no curtain or place to clip a shower for a stand up shower.

Reception staff excellent. Restaurant staff very efficient but inflexible and no personality. I appreciate that our French is very limited and this will have been a factor. However my Wife asked if, with her steak, she could have the gratin dauphinois rather than the vegetables that on the menu came with it. Gratin is her favourite, but on the same fixed price menu only came with the andouillette - a dish that by its nature only appeals to a select number of people. Her request was bluntly refused. Just a small complaint but I suggest that the serving staff could be trained to allow the small degree of flexibility that would be expected, and makes a real difference to the dining experience.

Decent enough hotel, supper was chaotic, order was wrong, multiple times and bill was incorrect (which was corrected on check out) Also aupper was very slow, 2 hrs. Not ideal with three small children. Breakfast is expensive.

Exceptional motel style hotel with a superb restaurant. The rooms are very modern and well appointed, including air conditioning.

Ideal location when going back up north. Charming hotel and very functional room. Top restaurant with very original recipes and at a reasonable price. The hotel's best feature is its spa, accessible at no extra cost and very relaxing after driving. It's a pleasure to stop there and enjoy this break, whose staff is very welcoming and efficient.

We have stayed in this hotel many times and it is usually excellent. Unfortunately on this occasion, the room was very damp after we had showered because the fan wasn't working and there are no windows to open. This made the room uncomfortable. The food however was excellent as usual

A very good shortstay/stopover hotel. Comfortable clean rooms (just a shame there is no fridge). Bathroom well provided with good shower and storage. Excellent food and service. The spa is a welcome addition.

We had a spacious room with a king size bed and excellent bathroom. Restaurant provided excellent dinner. Prices may be on the high side, but you get excellent dishes there. Two small extra starters were for the house.

The location while not picturesque is very convenient. The room was nice and quiet. Very clean and had all that I needed. The spa area was fantastic except that at the time I arrived there was no staff and therefore I couldn’t get a locker key. Again it was all very clean. The food on the other hand was a disappointment. Not because of its quality. But as I’m a vegetarian the offering was extremely limited. The starter was a small mushroom thing. Not inspiring at all. The main was a plate of grilled vegetables. I could do the same or better and I’m no cook. The cheese board was very tasty but small for the price.
I was subtly made to feel like an annoying awkward weirdo for being a vegetarian. But this is par for the course all over France. They just don’t get it.
Also I was amused to read on checkout early in the morning that all the staff spoke English. This was while I was trying to explain my needs, to a totally non English speaking member of staff!

Always enjoyable and restaurant very good

We have been staying here for a number of years. Everything about the hotel is perfect. Warm, welcoming and friendly staff. Food and accommodation are excellent. I can't say enough good things about it.

I only stay en route to the alps but the spa/ pool is a great way to unwind after the drive. The food quality for dinner is amazing. I would not even contemplate staying anywhere else.

Disappointing dinner

Staff were so friendly and helpful - we loved the stay and the food was excellent. One comment would be that our room was the down the road a short drive and we weren’t aware, wasn’t a massive issue but would have been helpful with planning.

The restaurant is exceptional.

A very convenient hotel 2 km off the A5 autoroute. The standard rooms are in annexes off the main body of the hotel and are comfortable and spacious. The reception staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Ceck in and check out were easy. Our room was clean, but had a slightly odd smell. The bathroom was well equipped with a good shower. The WiFi was fast and reliable. The food in the restaurant was very good with attentive service and a wide choice on the menu. A good hotel to stop over if you are en route from the south of France to the North or the Channel ports.

Used as a stop over on the way to the alps - fantastic to have a swim & sauna after a long drive; great restaurant (evening meal & breakfast). We will be back!

The only present member of staff was on reception, the restaurant staff didn’t smile or show any cheerfulness. Evening meal was good and breakfast was ok. But the rooms were disappointing, not at all like the website images.

Val Moret is a very pleasant and hospitable hotel, well situated and very well equipped

The location is ideal, food excellent

This is the several times we have stopped at this hotel and we are always satisfied, but one downside this time it was cold with a freezing wind, the room was very cold, it lacked a bit of preheating and the radiator no longer worked. Too bad because everything else was perfect.

We’ve stayed here twice en route from Italy back to the U.K. Brilliant hotel just off the motorway with amazing facilities. The only thing I would say is that whilst the restaurant is very good the menu is rather limited and is expensive. Pichet wine though excellent.

This was a perfect stop over en-route south with us and our dogs being made very welcome. Very comfortable rooms and lovely dinner. We arrived too late to enjoy the extra facilities but we were so pleased with hotel we booked again for the return journey home.

I cannot fault them. Everything worked fine. We had 2 grandchildren with us who, after a full day in Paris at the Olympics were tired but wanted a swim. We were accommodated in the Annex down the road to have a room for all 4 of us. This worked well and we swam both evening and the following morning with fresh swimming towels freely provided. Equally we ate well both ghat evening and the next morning. What was there not to like

Not our first visit - and it won’t be our last! All the reviews only allow a highest rating of very good. The truth is that every answer would have been ‘excellent’.

Room and Spa nothing to say, it's perfect. Breakfast is very good too, small point of improvement, the buffet is quite scattered, I almost missed the hot buffet. For the evening meal, there is a choice and the prices are reasonable. However, we had some problems with the service (we waited a long time between the starter and the main course), one of the starters was too salty and one of the dishes contained sesame oil but it was not indicated on the card, the person who took it did not appreciate this taste, she was disappointed.

Our second stay in this hotel, extremely well located 1 minute from the motorway exit and in the Champagne region of the Côte des Bar - modern and super comfortable room - quiet location with an extraordinary view of the surrounding area

Very good hotel with swimming pool, very pleasant for families. Too bad because the night was very hot despite the air conditioning being difficult to keep cool.

Fabulous hotel with a great restaurant

A first rate hotel. The only issue I have (and it's very positive) is I can't think of any possible reason why this Le Val Moret is graded as a 3 star and not 4 star!

Catering is fabulous with loads of locally sourced products. The rooms are large, clinically clean and very comfortable. It even boasts a spa. For travellers it is 2 minutes drive from the A5. We have used it twice as an overnight stop but are planning a longer stay.

We were given a room with bath but preferred a shower - no problem to change but in future recommended to call the hotel directly to ensure preference is available. Personnel were all great.

Delighted to have spent an evening and a night at this establishment. Special mention for the restaurant, simply fabulous!

Room great but aircon is not available until outside temperature at a certain level so room was hot. Windows that open would solve that problem during “in between”, temperatures. Staff are consistently amazing, efficient, friendly, are genuinely wanting everything to be good. We were running too late for breakfast and they made us a tartine to take away with us. Highly recommended

I travelled alone with two dogs. The hotel is ideal for my needs as it is half way on my journey. I like the accessibility of the rooms being ground floor and opening onto a terrace and grassed area. Ideal. I ate in the restaurant and had the al a carte menu which was delicious. Service was efficient and very friendly. Dogs are welcome but my two stayed in the room. I have passed by the hotel many times but this is my first stay. I will be going back again.

We have stayed a good few times before and always really enjoyed it but it was not great this time. We were in the annex down the road.. completely by ourselves and after a long drive you really don’t need to have to drive to have a swim then drive to have a meal then drive for breakfast in the morning. It was very weird and not at all comparable to the main hotel which we have always really enjoyed. No hot water either,just warm.

The Saturday evening service was very rushed and very hectic during this meal.

The only negative was the shower which basically was a bath with a shower attachment. Would have much preferred a proper shower.

It was our second stay at val miret and still very impressed with it. We git a lively smile when we arrived. Professional and friendly service. It is very clean and well appointed and in a lively area. Will be coming again.

Expensive restaurant. Clean accommodation. Comfortable. Lots of parking. Close to motorway.

We usually use room 31 a luxury room with balcony. On this occasion the hotel was very busy and we could only have a standard double. It was small but beautifully formed and the large wet room with shower and WC was excellent. The room smelled beautiful and everything was clean and bright.

For the price, the breakfast deserves a greater choice. Not having had time, we will come back to try the restaurant and the swimming pool. Charging station for electric vehicles at the price of €0.53/kWh as of 04/01/24.

We have stayed her previously and like the hotel and friendly staff. The hotel restaurant is very good, with food cooked to high standard and well presented. The hotel is located near the A5 so is easily accessible.

Everyone at Le Logis Le Val Moret is warm and welcoming. We have stayed many times and the friendliness, hospitality, good food, beautiful rooms are always top quality. Our favourite room is 31 but we have stayed also in standard rooms and they are also a delight and far above standard. The spa is so welcome after a day’s drive.

The hotel is really handy just off the motorway. Excellent parking right outside your accommdation. Very useful for bringing your bags in. The room was clean and well decorated and very comfortable.
The restaurant was clean and tidy with an à la carte and table d'hôte menu. The table d'hôte selection was fine for a seasoned French palate, but for the visiting British tourist (the vast majority), the menu had no translation and may have been a bit too niche for their taste.
For those visitors, I would suggest you stick to the à la carte for safety.
The breakfast was European style. Don't expect a cooked breakfast. What was available was fresh and of good quality. The muesli had chocolate in it. Not great for a person with chocolate allergies!
Overall, a great stopover on your way up/down the A26. Just the right distance from Calais.

The rooms are adequate and spa facilities good at the price point. However, other than the staff at breakfast the customer service was awful, especially at dinner. Will not be returning.

Clean comfortable and convenient. Have stayed 3 times before. When we arrived this time our room had an odour of dog so I went straight to reception and they immediately changed my room. Will definitely stay again.

Beautiful establishment, very accessible by car as it is close to the highway. Very friendly welcome. Excellent and inventive restaurant. Very good stay to repeat during a next visit to the region

Very nice hotel with easy access off motorway, and decent restaurant. Not sure what time breakfast is serv ed until but we were there just before 9.30 and very rushed with little choice.

My only real comment is inadequate outside pathway lighting
I stayed in room 10 and left in darkness at 06.00 hrs
The pathway lighting next to the car park is totally inadequate especially at the junction between the pathway from the room and the car park where there is a kerb which is not lit or highlighted.
Luckily I have only grazed my hands and knees but for an older person the injuries could have been much worse.
I have stayed at the hotel before and really enjoyed the food etc I will visit again but strongly recommend you have a look at the nighttime pathway lighting in this area of your property.

As always we had a wonderful time in your hotel. We love the room with the balcony ( No 31) -it is spacious, attractively furnished, spotlessly clean, quiet, it is warm and comfortable with good air conditioning.
We love that we can use the beautiful spa with it’s beautiful pool, super sauna, jacuzzi and steam room and that it is possible to book treatments.
The 1st dining room is our favourite and the food is, as ever, imaginative and delicious. The vegetarian option which I have had previously was wonderful as of course the fish and beef that we chose on this occasion.
The warmth of the staff and reception is always excellent and we are made to feel very welcome.

All wonderful. My only comment would be that it would be nice to have more vegetrian choices on the menu.

A quality evening stopover

We have stayed many times as the hotel is very well, paced on the return journey form the Alps and the south. The welcome is warm and friendly. Staff are keen to please. Services are good. Room are comfortable.

We have stayed at the Val Moret almost every year since 1999 either on the way to the Alps or returning. Great restaurant, simple comfortable rooms and always a warm welcome. Perfect!
