Nothing to say, great!
Very attractive original property and grounds at a stunning price with an amazing approach road lined with giant conifers.Impeccably clean with super comfortable bed albeit at 1.4m wide, a little small. Brilliant shower, soft towels, with a somewhat uncomfortable toilet for an older person.
Reception and restaurant service needs professionalising and smartening a tad, without losing its youthful laid back quality.
The evening meal was poor. The entree on the fixed menu despite the grandiose description was glutinous and tasteless. The fish and mushrooms
overcooked. Nothing seemed fresh despite prebooking required 24 hrs in advance. Perhaps our worst Logis culinary experience. The waitress offered no drinks (we had intended to have wine) so we stayed with water; When the carafe emptied no refill was offered or provided.
Breakfast was generally of excellent quality but a bit short on variety for the price . We were surprised there was no member of staff on hand.
For us a mixed experience of very good and very bad which is a pity as the venue has lots of potential and much that is done well. Do room rates really have to compete with the nearby Ibis Budget? I somehow doubt we shall be returning.
The rooms were exceptionally good with spotless bathrooms.
The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Overall a very pleasant stay in beautiful surroundings and very good value. What a find.
We'll be back.
Thank you.
Surprised by the value for money, the place was superb. Impeccably clean, breakfast with good, fresh, and varied products. Very comfortable bedding (we only stayed one night) and the room was at a very good temperature with clean air (it didn't smell like an "old castle"). Passing through quickly in winter, we weren't able to fully explore the place and surroundings, but it's a good starting point. Just one small thing to improve (for the room we had): having a separate toilet from the bathroom (there were three of us in the room).
Much more pleasant and welcoming than a chain hotel. One drawback: no central lighting and the bedside light is too dim and not designed for reading in bed.
Room 225 has very poor lighting and the shower is difficult to activate. Room 224 is spotless.
Clean, spacious room, but slightly dated bathroom, in beautiful chateau. Great value for money.
In line with our expectations
A magnificent setting, excellent evening meal.
Perfect !
Nous avons eu personne à l'accueil sauf le jour de notre départ.
Idem pour le petit déjeuner du mardi, petit déjeuner bas de gamme, pas choix.
Salle de bain veillissante avec bruit de tuyauterie la nuit
a very nice upstairs room with a view of the park
Really very good, just a little more decoration in the room and a refreshed bathroom and it would be the best; Excellent value for money!
For a little while, look for a variety of salted meals, as well as biscuits. Pas beuacoup d'étagers en la salle de bain. as partout on find the same cover as before, du coup soit on a trop chaud soit trop froid.
One small problem, however, is that the price of €20 per day is excessive for our little dog.
Arrival under a cypress hedge to discover a very well-maintained castle in a quiet area with a swimming pool, chapel surrounded by a park, all at an affordable price for quality services. I recommend it, we have stopped there several times.
I am very disappointed with my experience. The night was ruined by a leaking toilet, and there was no one at the reception desk to help us. Furthermore, the service at the restaurant was unacceptable. The waitress made it clear that she was in a hurry to get home, which forced us to rush for dinner. The dishes came one after the other at breakneck speed, without us being able to enjoy our meal. The situation was all the more unpleasant because we had to finish our last drink in a plastic cup.
The hotel was fine and the price reflected what you get.
There is a nice pool, food is okay, friendly staff but strange the restaurant is closed on the weekend.
It is beside a highway so you can hear the traffic but it’s not that loud .

A bientôt au Chateau Saint Marcel!
Hotel that seems to be exceptional but we were not fully satisfied The strong points: - the location and the reception area, magnificent castle! - the swimming pool: huge, quiet and with enough deckchairs - quality of the breakfast - welcome and kindness of the staff The - : - cleanliness of the rooms not great and maintenance: we stayed 3 nights and not once did anyone come to our room even to change the bin (we have a baby with diapers, not crazy) - equipment in the rooms: no safe or fridge, in the middle of a heatwave, very very annoying. We had to throw away the chickens provided. A 50cl bottle of water for 3 provided on our arrival. In this period, one per day, would not have been a luxury. - bathroom in its original state: in such a beautiful building, we expect everything to be... but the modernity of the bathroom leaves something to be desired - price of breakfast: although generous and of good quality, 14€/person seems a bit overpriced to me - mediocre bedding: soft mattress and bed too small (we generally prefer hotels because the beds are large and comfortable) In conclusion, a hotel that is all in all pleasant but with many points for improvement. Thank you for the welcome

Château Saint Marcel combines the exceptional setting of a Relais-Châteaux without the frills or the excessive prices. Beautiful swimming pool (cool), beautiful terrace, modern and comfortable room 19, friendly and attentive welcome. Possibility of charging your EV (note only one terminal available) Areas for improvement: - offer a range of treatments (while keeping it simple, for example in partnership with independent masseurs) - change the shower head: tiny, it is no longer up to current standards - offer eggs on demand for breakfast - the park could do with a little cleaning - it's a shame not to have a restaurant on weekends, even simple, at least in high season

My opinion is mixed, as the contrasts were so striking! The setting is magnificent, the food enjoyable, and some of the staff members were completely professional. Unfortunately, these positive points were overshadowed by a series of incidents and inappropriate behavior from some employees. Upon our arrival, the room telephone was not working, making any communication with reception impossible. The television was also out of order. It was replaced quickly, but with a very small screen. I pointed out that my son, who is visually impaired, would not be able to enjoy it, and I was told that if I wasn't happy, it was the same. When my daughter began vomiting after a fall in the pool, a staff member insisted that I isolate her in the room and gave me very insistent instructions, even though I have more than ten years of experience in the medical field and my son has a disability. The next day, we were woken up at 8 a.m. by work in the hallway, which lasted more than two hours. In the afternoon, sound tests were being carried out for a wedding, preventing the children from getting any rest. When I expressed my dissatisfaction at the reception, two employees vindictively replied that, since I had booked on Booking.com at a lower rate, I had nothing to complain about. When I pointed out that if I wanted noise and poor service, I would go to the campsite, one of them replied with aplomb that I would have been better off going there. This discriminatory treatment is unacceptable. It is regrettable that such a beautiful establishment, in such a pleasant setting, should be tainted by such contempt for certain guests. I have just left the hotel, and no apology has been offered to me, no goodwill gesture has been made: no tourist tax reduction, no lunch, no coffee, no aperitif. I'm looking forward to seeing the response to this comment, because, based on previous responses to negative reviews, it seems that the person in charge is not in a process of questioning things to improve the quality of services in the area... To be continued!
The place was amazing, really gorgeous in a quiet area with no one around to bother us ! The staff was incredibly sweet, helpful and kind. Big up to the team. The swimming pool was beautiful and big enough for long swims. We had dinner there and the food was exquisite. The Chef is a real star and honestly, we got 3 meal courses that were tasty and delicious, the best we had fot a while! I absolutely recommend this place, the restaurant is a must. Thank you for making this 2 night-stay an amazing one.
Beautiful establishment, especially the arrival between two rows of cedars! The location is good even if you can hear the noise from the nearby commercial area. Quiet at night, however. The hotel is perfect. Large room, quality bedding, XXL TV, beautiful bathroom, decent linens. The restaurant's 25 euro menu is very good value for money. The dishes presented are tasty and plentiful. The wine list is very balanced. We can regret the minimalism of the placemats (kraft paper square) and the napkin! The swimming pool is a definite asset for this establishment. The breakfast is okay, nothing more.
Magnificent site, very beautiful castle, beautiful swimming pool..! Very pleasant one-night stopover stay. Positive points: the welcoming, smiling and accommodating staff (room made available earlier than expected, and made it easy to prepare a pasta dish for our son for dinner that evening). Very pleasant swimming pool. Less positive points: it's a shame that the mini golf and pétanque courts are no longer maintained and usable... As for the restaurant, the dinner menu offers very little choice (cheese platter as a starter... that's not common!) and minimal side dishes (no vinaigrette with the asparagus salad). We are not in a gourmet restaurant, even though the place would lend itself to it. As for the room, the television screen is very small for a family room for 3 people... (not essential, but it feels cheap)
Excellent accommodation, nothing to complain about. The only thing we missed after the journey was the opportunity to have a drink and relax on the terrace (we had to wait for the restaurant to open at 7:30 p.m.)
The hotel is well-run by professional staff, and its grounds and swimming pool are a real plus. We had an excellent stay.
A lovely hotel, everyone helpful and friendly,
At short notice, they provided me with a gluten free breakfast and dinner, whih was much appreciated.
I think that the only thing that could be improved is the gardens at the rear, beyond the swimming pool.
Very pleasant staff. Relaxing setting.
Only negative is the lack of service during the day. When we order a wine and beer at 17.45 we are being told wine only after 18.00. While beer is being served. Either serve everything and everybody or serve nobody but make it clear you dont serve drinks.
It would have been helpful if the evening meal menu had been announced or displayed. In my case, the dishes were served without any explanation. Luckily, I didn't have any dietary restrictions.
Our stay at the St Marcel was great, the chateau was truly beautiful and well renovated.
The room was clean and simple.
The staff were always friendly.
The hotel was almost empty apart from us. We thought it was a shame that there weren’t more people there.
We felt the price we paid compared to the beauty of the hotel was fair. We wondered if the concept wasn’t positioned correctly as there wasn’t much service so maybe it should be advertised more like an Airbnb or guest house as the notices all over the hotel about guests being aggressive to staff suggests that people are sometimes disappointed.
There are a few areas of improvement:
- the service could have been better - for example the mugs we’d used from the tea/ coffee point in the room were not replaced / cleaned during the stay.
- the hot water was boiling and it was hard to regulate it, we almost scalded our child in the shower
- there was no cold water out of the tap to drink
- the breakfast was a bit over priced for the quantity / variety of food. It would have been nice to have something warm like eggs and better quality coffee. The yoghurt and juice were delicious
A very good address in a green park. The staff are super nice. The 140 bed is a little small if we have to make a single improvement.
Dear Sandrine,
Thank you very much for your comment ! We are delighted that you enjoyed our location in this green park . The friendliness of the staff is a priority for us. We take note of your comment regarding the size of the 140 bed as a potential improvement . We look forward to welcoming you again!
Otroligt vackert.
an exceptional place

I've stayed at this hotel before, and the value for money is very good. The only thing, as with all Logis hotels, is that when you leave a comment about a request or anything else, it's not read. So, I had asked to be on the top floor and I had to change rooms. Furthermore, the room I was given was really nice, but it didn't have blackout blinds. Being a light sleeper, I couldn't get enough of them.
