Our second stay here. Beautiful gardens, quiet & peaceful. Spotlessly clean with a really comfy bed. Plenty of hot water. Luxurious dinner in splendid surroundings. All within 20 minutes of the centre of Dieppe & the ferry port. What more could you want?

A very pleasant place with a magnificent garden bordered by a river. A very pleasant welcome.

Great hotel, with good food. However, personally we were disappointed that there was not a residents lounge/bar as we arrived early, although in good weather there are facilities outside.

Lovely setting in an extensive planted garden alongside the river. Newly refurbished room, spacious, comfortable and with a view of tge garden. Good restaurant. Limited but adequate breakfast. We arrived at 3 and couldn't get in. Clients need to be told in advance that the reception is closed until 4pm. We were short shorts!

We really enjoyed the accommodation, the food and the extensive breakfast. The beautiful garden was a very nice addition.

Lovely ambience and excellent restaurant but the experience was let down by the quality of the bathroom. The bath/shower is raised up so the top is about 80cm above the floor and a portable step is provided, but for elderly people this is unsafe and daunting. The shower isn't thermostatically controlled so the temperature can vary if other rooms run hot water.
It's a pity that this issue spoiled what could have been a perfect break.

Actually I don't want to share this hotel because it is so good😀 we have been here for the 4th time and it gets better every time.

An idyllic setting, very welcoming and pleasant people

Very beautiful setting, the garden invites you to relax, it's pleasant. Friendly welcome, great availability of staff. The room is pretty but could do with some updating. The bathroom is small. The shower bath is very high, which is not practical. However, we had an excellent stay. We will come back.

This is a very special and restful hotel, at which we have really enjoyed staying several times all aspects are excellent, it's setting by the river Arques is truly beautiful. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The restaurant is excellent. For me l'Auberge du Clos North is the ideal small country inn.

You drive straight into paradise from the main road. And then afterwards you eat divinely in the restaurant. Highly recommended.

Lovely old hotel in a town setting, with attractive gardens with a river running through the grounds.
Our room was well furnished and spacious, with a large well appointed bathroom.
Our stay was spoilt by a complete lack of soundproofing and guests above us who made excessive noise returning at 3.30 am, with no consideration for other guests !!
The restaurant was full of character and food and service were good.
Wi-Fi signal was somewhat weak !

A most pleasant welcome. Staff always smiling and attentive. Refined cuisine. Spacious and very clean room. Bedding of excellent comfort. The entire estate is very well maintained and magnificently planted with various flowers and shrubs. Watercourse at the bottom of the estate where it is nice to relax, read or have a drink! A big thank you to all the teams. We will not hesitate to return if the opportunity arises.

Beautiful place by the stream with a good restaurant

It's a nice hotel. I can recommend it. Above all, the parking lot is safe. You can also park your car easily with bikes on a rear rack.

Having booked my first night here after sailing into Dieppe, I booked again for the night prior to my departure.

The team are superb, the hotel and gardens leading down to the river are delightful and the food is excellent.

I will definitely be back on my next trip.

Very beautiful setting with beautiful garden and river. Very good restaurant. There were 9 of us so we had the rooms on the 2nd floor to ourselves. Pretty, clean and very practical rooms for the suites with a special children's area. Very good restaurant with refined but hearty cuisine. The only problem is for the children's menu which was refined (puree, vegetables and sauce and chicken). Pasta, fries, nuggets or ground steak would have done the trick. Even though it was very good, the children didn't eat it. The rest was perfect. Good value for money.

We are very glad to have found this lovely hotel, and will definitely return. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the food in the restaurant superb! Would thoroughly recommend.

The room is pleasant, but we feel that the maintenance is not optimized. The bed is "soft" which gives me back pain, but that's a matter of personal choice.

We stayed here once before and were delighted with warmth of the welcome and overall comfort of the hotel. The staff are wonderful. The garden and stream add to the beauty of the stay. The food is exquisite and in particular they are able to cater for my dietary requirements, I am a coeliac, with care and attention.n - it is such a joy that the diet is not regarded as problematical. We highly recommend staying here and we shall certainly be back.

Correct evening stopover. Good value for money. A refresh of room no. 6 would be a plus. Shower faucet scaled, bedding to be changed. I've stayed here a number of times, always good. It is quiet has a pretty outdoor area by the river. The restaurant has excellent food and is always full so you need to book a table early. The owners are very attentive to your needs. I shall return again as it's so lovely.

Great hotel de charme. Room is what you expect from an old and traditional French hotel. Nice location on a river with good lounge chairs on the adjacent terrace. Reception fine. In itself I would rate the hotel 4 stars if it weren't for the so-called restaurant. The ambiance is fine but not in keeping with the rest. No cooking is done here, but it is heated in the steam oven. Quality of the food is a mockery and a shame for French gastronomy. The starter (a fish pate) resembled a bowl of cat food and probably tasted even less than what I serve my pet. The main course and dessert were also barely edible. Even worse than the food was the service. This gentleman continuously made nasty jokes at the expense of the (predominantly older British) guests and made it a day job to correct the pronunciation of French. With us he was constantly making strange faces and shouting the word Monkfish at every opportunity.

It's the 2nd time we've looked for this hotel and it's still great. Very friendly staff, a nice spacious room and good beds. The food in the restaurant is very tasty and beautifully presented. The breakfast is also good with enough variety. The hotel's garden is also lovely to relax in. We would love to come back again!

A quiet location and a magnificent garden

We had room 12 which was terrible. Tiny room, Sockets not working, no mirror in bedroom, decoration had been done badly, tap in wash hand basin not fixed properly, np ventilation in bathroom, bathroom door didn’t shut. Maybe the owner should try sleeping in in that room.

An excellent stay!

The welcome is warm, the hotel and staff are charming, and what's more, the hotel is very well located in this wonderful corner of Normandy. The hotel is also comfortable, very clean and very well maintained. The staff takes great care of the residents. The adjoining restaurant offers delicious dishes served with such kindness and class. In short, it was in all respects a very pleasant stay that we will certainly repeat in the future.

From our arrival when we were warmly welcomed by the lady on the front desk to our departure we had a great time at Hotel le Clos Normand. We ate in the restaurant which is rightly described as Gourmand, the waiter who spoke some English also had a lovely manner about him, he improved our dining experience.
The grounds of the hotel are fabulous and I look forward to returning on a sunny day to have a drink by the stream running past the property.

This was the 3rd time we had booked an overnight stay at Le Clos Normand. It's such a nice place to stay after a day of travelling. It's a nice historical place. Beautiful garden, on a stream, and as far as I'm concerned, typically French. Very basic but everything you need. There is now a new owner and he has handled things well. The restaurant is fantastic, what a great service and delicious food. Really enjoy. The breakfast is also recommended. Definitely a favorite of ours!!

Old room, bathroom from the 70s, old toilets. The photos on the website do not represent reality...far from it. In addition, billing error at the start. Only positive point, the restaurant very good in terms of quality and service. But that doesn't make up for accommodation.

Our second visit to this atmospheric hotel. Room old fashioned, but large and cosy. Beautiful garden with a river at the end and chairs and tables where you can enjoy your drink and listen to the birds. Lovely staff. Delicious dinner and very efficient t service. Will definitely visit again.

My wife and I have stayed here several times before and the quality of our stay has always been excellent. There are now new owners but quality and service has not only been maintained but improved. We would recommend this hotel to anyone as being exceptional and the restaurant is superb.

This is a lovely hotel full of charm and character just a short drive from the ferry terminal in Dieppe.
There is a stream at the bottom of the beautiful garden and beautiful planting throughout the grounds. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Clos Normand and will definitely be back.

Pleasant stay just the jug of water in the room hot and the water tasted weird. The towel dryer stays on all the time so it's hot in the bathroom. Restaurant at the top

The hotel offers a magnificent setting with very comfortable bedding. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of quality products. The restaurant is excellent and has a very pleasant room with a view of the kitchen. It offers a varied menu with hearty dishes worthy of great gourmet restaurants (finesse, flavor, presentation). Whether in the hotel or in the restaurant, the service is provided by friendly people who know how to maintain a friendly atmosphere in a good mood.

Very pretty park and exterior of the house. Well maintained. Welcoming staff. Nice hotel restaurant. Regarding the room, we had reserved a deluxe suite for 4 people. Looking at the photos on the site, we expected something quite different. Disappointment on entering: Chandelier and switch broken. Hole on the side of the bathtub. Paper and sockets ripped off in places. Aging decor. No commercial gesture from management. We also find it expensive to charge €10 for breakfast for children under 10 (even for a buffet).

A delightful few days stay in a place with obvious history and character in a very peaceful location. The team were very warm, friendly and welcoming and we were very well looked after. The breakfast was a good start to the day and dinner was excellent. A lovely time visiting the area and the stay at the hotel was great!

A place that seems steeped in history, in a setting full of charms run by an equally charming host who welcomes you, concocts you a rich and refined cuisine at the same time, with a hat on the head, and even hugs you in the dining room.. ..Bravo and thank you! The building and the setting are simply magnificent. The bedroom (n°2) is very comfortable (even if I prefer showers to bathtubs) with a decoration that follows the general style. The floor squeaks a bit and you can hear the neighbors walking, but whatever, it's in line with the general atmosphere. I would stay there again without any problem;

Our second stay in this superb place with very pleasant and discreet staff at the same time, perfectly clean and prepared room. High quality restaurant too, delicious and well presented dishes, varied menu without excess, guarantee of good products, we had an excellent culinary moment. Ditto for breakfast, often neglected in hotels, here it is irreproachable. It would be difficult to find a negative point, a big thank you for everything!

Welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. The setting by the river is wonderful and we will try to return in the warm summer months when we can sit out and enjoy.

Hello what mishaps about the hot water and then more water, until the next day, but we did not dramatize, we were rather consillient, because it was nobody's fault.

This is a classic and beautiful semi-rural hotel with a strong emphasis on its restaurant (which is excellent), I selected it carefully for the last night of our 3 holiday touring France. I do not. book restaurants months in advance as I prefer the liberty to choose where we dine after arriving. Unfortunately for us there was a wedding party present at the hotel and there wasn't a table free. This was not the fault of the hotel. Dieppe was insanely busy due to the staging of an International kite festival. We had to drive to St Marguertite sur Mer (20km) to find somewhere to dine - again, not the fault of the hotel. Upon our return When we returned at 2140hrs my partner and I wished to buy and drink a bottle of wine at the hotel. A waitress told us rather abruptly that this was not possible which surprised and annoyed us. We spoke with a male waiter at greater length who again refused us. He offered to serve us outdoors (it was was very cold outside, he then offered to serve us in a small, empty reception. We explained that his restaurant at that time was starting to clear and that there were tables free. Again he refused us that option which further annoyed us.. And so, our last night in France was damaged and we retired to our room decidedly frustrated and annoyed. To be paying circa 100 euros and not being able to have a final night drink in this beautiful hotel was remarkable. BUT - moments after retiring to our room we were visited by the patron , a very lovely and charming young la dy. She had not come to visit us over this bar issue. but to explain most apologetically that there had been a water burst in another room and that the hotel had lost all supply of water. It could not be repaired until the following day (showing problems for everybody). She brought us some bottled water and could not have been more apologetic and explained that she was obliged to cancel all room charges for everybody. The hotel was full, this was an expensive step for her to take and she was clearly very stressed behind her outward display of charm. We told her that we would cope just fine and again this WAS NOT her fault - it was just one of those unfortunate things. We did however explain our upset at being refused to enjoy a last bottle of wine before departing France in the morning. She expressed surprise and horror that we had been refused and personally stepped in to ensure that a table was found The waiter and waitress were instructed to serve us and our last evening was saved.due to the truly charming patron who totally understood the matter of hospitality somewhat better than her staff who were doggedly reluctant to serve us. and who had been somewhat abrupt.. I cannot rate the Patron highly enough for her very kind attention to us when she herself was under so much pressure with the water burst, a full restaurant wedding party and full rooms. So many issues which were out of his control we could understand, sympathize with and tolerate. She has owned the property for just 6 months and we are quite certain she has everything in her character and personality to make a great success of her new business and we wish her well. We shall return quite happily some day, we will strongly recommend to people seeking accommodation close to Dieppe. Although we didn't dine there the food we saw delivered seemed to be superb. Lovely hotel, great food, nice people...go try it!

We had a very good stop-over at the Clos Normand. A lovely warm and smiling welcome from Sophie Bedu added to the good experience. We enjoyed a very good dinner and before that a beer in the large grounds overlooking the river L'Eaulne. Our room was comfortable although we would prefer not to have had our window and glass doors opening onto a veranda which gave access to two other rooms further along. We enjoyed our stay here.

Slightly quirky property, great location and very good food

I took my stay as a stopover, and I found that my main course, although very good, lacked a bit of generosity compared to people who took a dish from the menu. The faucets in the bathroom are a bit old and the shower is quite low for someone 'tall'. Nevertheless, I remain very satisfied with my stay. The owners are very attentive to their customers.

We found the decor and the bathroom in room 11 in need of updating. Apart from that the dinner and the breakfast were excellent and the atmosphere and the welcome too. We will be back, but maybe in another room.

Thé patronne was a one man show.she always had a smile,was a waitress ,receptionist,chef.The only disappointment was that only one waitress was on duty in the restaurant and service was quite slow.However it was a bank holiday and the food was excellent.

Le Clos Normand is for us the best hotel in the world! The complex is beautiful and the garden is a paradise. The rooms are wonderfully appointed and extremely clean, the beds are large and extremely comfortable and the restaurant eats like the gods!!! But best of all is the staff. The professionalism of the crew is at the highest level and the staff are extremely friendly, warm and full of humour! The cordiality, friendliness and helpfulness of the owner Sophie are unmatched!!!! We only wanted to stay two nights before continuing our journey north. But the calm and charm of Clos Normand are so unmatched that we stayed at Clos Normand until the end of our vacation. Every night it felt like coming home! We still have nostalgia for Le Clos Normand and we look forward to our next visit!!! We wholeheartedly thank Sophie and the Clos Normand team for this wonderful stay in paradise!!!!
