Excellent location: between the train station and the cathedral. Good bedding. Some noise from the neighbors.

This room was a disgrace, the shower was unusable because it was so small with a poor shower curtain, it smelled bad, the lighting was awful and we could hear the person in the next room snoring.

Excellent discovery of this quality accommodation with attentive and pleasant staff and a restaurant that I can only recommend.

A very pleasant stay, the hotel is very well located, and the staff are very welcoming. The only slight drawback was the rather small bathroom.

The hotel is very nicely decorated. The welcome is excellent and the staff very attentive. However, the rooms are a bit small and the bathroom is really cramped, especially the rather impractical shower. Furthermore, the soundproofing in the rooms leaves much to be desired; on the other hand, the surrounding area is quiet.

Very nice location, fantastic restaurant, room a little dated but it will be new in a year. We can't wait to come back and see the new hotel.

The hotel is centrally located in Chartres. The room wasn't very large. The bathroom was small with a shower curtain.

Excellent location for seeing Chartres. Food was good. Staff friendly but it is an old building in much need of refurbishment. The room was very small, soft furnishings dark and dusty, stained carpet, dust++ behind the bedside table. Very heavy lumpy duvet. Bathroom was very cramped. Painted surface under sink was peeling, grout was mouldy, radiator peeling and rusty. Very small corner shower with shower curtain. Very thin towels. The stairs were very narrow with no hand rail - and the one railing around a small half landing was very very loose. Not really the standard of accommodation we were expecting for the price. The public bar area and restaurant were good and clearly popular with local people, it felt as though this was the focus of the effort rather than the accommodation.

Super comfortable hotel with beautiful decor.

Friendly welcome and very competent staff!! Breakfast could be improved by adding a fruit salad. The mattresses are a little too soft. For traveling with friends, a 160cm wide bed is not enough.

Fabulous little hotel with excellent restaurant

Hotel staff were very welcoming and the food in the restaurant was excellent.
Room and bathroom were very small and you could hear people in room next door even when they pulled the curtains.
We had a nice stay despite not getting much sleep due to traffic noise and from other rooms. View from room of cathedral was nice.
On departure bill was wrong we had been charged for several items we had not had so check your bill.

The hotel and staff/owners are all very welcoming and kind. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable and the breakfast croissants were delicious!

The dinner was generally tasty and well presented but the portions seemed small. The only negative was the rooms were really warm and you need air-con. Yes you can open the windows but if you’re on the first floor and you have a small dog they can easily get out the window and walk along ledges below, so not ideal. We were here in September and it was manageable with noisy fans in rooms but I would not like to imagine it in July or August.

Room was small but adequate. Clean and they supplied a fan. Breakfast was also adequate! Nice stay and we would stay again if we were in the area. Had an amazing view of the cathedral!

A stay that I will happily mention: quality of sleep, pleasure of finding a ventilation tower in the closet to effectively cool the room for the night then delicious breakfast in a bright veranda with a view of the cathedral and finally last but not least: the attentiveness and responsiveness of the management. Ideally located 2 steps from the most beautiful of cathedrals.

A very good welcome and staff. Disappointed with the room because it was very hot and impossible to open the windows before midnight because of the kitchen host who pushed out the odors, not to mention the noise. Air conditioning would have been welcome. Well, I'm not blaming them, we are in the city center with the constraints that this entails. Otherwise, the stay went well.

Very good service and cuisine. Parking is easily accessible and located near the hotel. The hotel is in a good and beautiful location opposite Chartres Cathedral, which is worth a visit.

A perfect location, so close to the cathedral. Hotel parking easy and not expensive. Fabulous dinner. The rooms and bathrooms are small but for such a central location definitely acceptable. The lift is so quaint as it is tiny but so useful for luggage. Very friendly staff.

Room 34 very very hot upon arrival at 5 pm. Room had no air conditioning. Had to sleep w windows open, generally fine, but late night noise from restaurant below, and radios inboard across the street went until 2 am. Noise from adjacent room TVs pierced the thin walls.

Friendly welcome, ideally located hotel and we enjoyed the concert in the square outside our room.

Very limited consideration for customers: Reserved parking but inaccessible because a customer's car is blocking the way, no other solution than to find parking elsewhere, then concert on the square until 11:30 p.m., no one warns when booking even though it was planned for a long time and takes place every year at this time. If I had known, I would have taken a room on the courtyard side, and which is also cheaper.

I booked a night in this hotel, I had already stayed there once and I had good memories of it. Except that this time, no luck, it was the "white evening" at the hotel restaurant. I was warned the same day before arriving that the restaurant would not be available in the evening, that there was a private party. On the other hand, no mention of the music group until 11:30 p.m. ... Too bad when you come to stop to rest ... I would have appreciated being warned when I made my reservation. And also that the staff had a little consideration when I commented on it the next morning.

Only one night spent at the Logis du Boeuf Couronne, but I was amazed by the value for money of the "Gourmet Getaway" weekend. A night in a room with quality bedding and impeccable cleanliness, a meal close to gourmet at the L'Amphytrion restaurant, and a breakfast buffet that lacked nothing, everything was impeccable. To nitpick, it was very hot in the non-air-conditioned room, but my ecological conscience approves of this choice of not giving in to it? In any case, it was very hot absolutely everywhere. And a shower a bit small. But I'm quite tall...

No air conditioning. Very small room. Price practically identical to the four-star hotel next door which has air conditioning. Avoid in summer anyway. Friendly staff but it's not enough.

Very good location, pleasant welcome and nice decoration, shame on the other hand room and bathroom too small, shower curtain in general not very pleasant... and especially very poor soundproofing with the neighboring rooms, the impression that the neighbors share the room. Finally, very surprised to have to wait behind the staff (apparently the head waiter) to serve a coffee from the machine, a first. Note that the restaurant (with careful decoration) that we did not try was strongly recommended to us by friends from and living in the city. Next time we will try it but choose another hotel, shame.

Very professional staff. Our child was sick on the day of our departure, so we were able to stay a few hours longer than planned to take care of him. Thanks again to the Bœuf Couronné team for this small gesture, which was a great relief.

The hotel is very nice and well located, but the WC is very small.

Very satisfied with our stay at the Hôtel du Boeuf Couronné, including breakfast and meals. Our room was on the 3rd floor and the view of the cathedral is splendid. The weak point concerns the decoration of the bathroom, but everything was functional and we were able to use it without any problem. The staff was charming in all circumstances, whether at the hotel or the restaurant.

In my opinion, the hotel is best located to admire the cathedral, especially the night lighting. Close to the historic city center and the cathedral. It is easy to navigate between the two (walks/hotel). I share the opinions on the size of the bathroom but the equipment is very good, and according to my criteria, that is not the main thing. It is elsewhere: very comfortable hotel, nicely decorated, room of good size, staff who know how to welcome and receive, professional. The parking, secure, is at a reasonable price, especially compared to the price of public parking. Finally, the breakfast is perfect. The products served are very high quality and the price is commensurate. The breakfast room (in the restaurant) is very pleasant and functional. Very good stay, which is why we are coming back in a month... and will come back again. The city of Chartres is constantly evolving.

Perfect location for visiting the center of Chartres. A small parking lot is available for the car. The only drawback is the noise from vehicles on the street (which is fine with closed windows) and the room's soundproofing is average.

Big disappointment regarding the soundproofing of the room, both outside and inside: we felt like we were sharing the room with our upstairs neighbors.

Centrally located good sized bedrooms

The hotel's location is ideal, especially for visiting the magnificent cathedral. However, it is recommended to rent a space in the hotel's secure parking lot, despite the small size of the area.

The hotel and restaurant are very nice and friendly. The only downside was our bathroom, which was very small but had a window. This is the second time we've been there.

A high-quality, "historic" establishment with a particularly knowledgeable and friendly staff. The restaurant is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in the city of Chartres.

Un hotel tres accuillant

The bath and shower are UNUSABLE unless you are at serious risk of falling. The bottom of the tub is slippery. When standing in the tub under the shower, there are no grab bars at body height, which is unthinkable. I was unable to shower or bathe. The tub is very deep, and I injured myself slightly trying to step over it. However, the towels are of the best possible quality and absolutely clean.

For a 3-star hotel, we expected more comfort, especially in the bathroom! A shower stuck behind the toilet and much too small to be used comfortably. (60/70 cm)!!!! The parking request was not taken into account despite two messages sent. So there was tension upon arrival. The staff was friendly but it was impossible to change the situation. The location of the hotel is ideal for visiting the city.

Good overall, but the bedding is average, and the automatic light in the lobby (which those sleeping in the living room must pass through to access the toilet) is not practical and stays on for a long time. A very nice little hotel with a fantastic location. The room was very nice, but unfortunately the TV remote didn't work (despite a battery change). The bathroom is extremely small, with hardly any space, and the hairdryer is very wobbly. Overall, it's very noisy. The hotel has a lot of charm; it's OK for one night, but not for longer stays.

Overall satisfied with our stay. The hotel is very well located next to the cathedral, with private parking and excellent staff! However, the bathroom was too small with no separate toilet and a small shower tray!

Very nice hotel located 10 minutes walk from the cathedral. The staff is very welcoming and professional. Please book your parking space as Chartres doesn't give away its parking spaces... The hotel bar is very nice with a beautiful setting. The only downside is the soundproofing of the rooms overlooking the cathedral for light sleepers, for my part no problem. Overall the hotel is very good with unbeatable value for money. Don't hesitate to book at the Boeuf Couronné for a stay in Chartres.

Bedroom not so good. Very small, no room for a wardrobe or chest of drawers.
Bathroom inadequate. Tiny, no towel rail, no extractor fan, shower sprayed the floor and walls rayher than the person. Macerator toolet worked, but who wants such a thing.

The welcome and the staff are perfect. The only downside is that a room may not have been renovated yet (Booking reservation).

I give a better rating to the catering and breakfast which exceeds in quality the hotel part. Possibility of parking in the hotel garage is very difficult.

Quick one-night stay preceded by a meal at the Amphitryon. Despite the late check-in time, I was warmly welcomed by the reception and restaurant team who made me feel completely at ease on this point. Subsequently, my dinner was a real treat, as I like them, that is to say recipes made with fresh quality products and cooked with precision. The service is not left out with a lot of attention without being omnipresent. Bravo to the restaurant team, smiling, to the kitchen and the pastry for the quality served and to the young receptionist for whom the warm welcome has no secret. All this is very complimentary but it is sincere!

Excellent stay at Bœuf Couronné! Everyone is smiling, welcoming, sincerely kind. The location is great with a view of the cathedral, the hotel is clean, the decoration is relaxing and modern, the bar is very pleasant with an impressive cocktail menu and the restaurant is very good! We recommend a stay in this hotel to enjoy a break in Chartres with everything on site.

Excellent location just a very short walk to the beautiful cathedral. Good secure parking close by for €10 a night which is reasonable. Great cocktail bar and restaurant where we had a delicious evening meal. The breakfast buffet was fine but nothing special and at €15 pricey for what you got. I’ve stayed in a similar place in Blois where the breakfast is included in the room for no extra charge and was the same choices. The room is pricey for the standard - it needs some updating and smelt damp and musty. I wasn’t sure if the bedding was fresh as I could smell a whiff of tobacco and perfume. I didn’t mention it as I couldn’t be certain but it wasn’t the best. The bathroom is absolutely tiny and makes using the shower a bit cramped. Plenty of dents and marks that need refreshing with a new paint and polish. Overall although it suited us for this visit we’d look to stay somewhere else a bit cheaper next time but we would be back for the restaurant.

Hotel ideally located to visit old Chartres, its alleys, walks along the canal, the cathedral, and the circuit of lights. Neat hotel, very nicely decorated (stay at the beginning of December), spacious room (quiet courtyard side), good bedding, the bathroom is small but functional and it lacks nothing. The staff is welcoming and attentive. The hotel offers parking nearby for a reasonable cost (10€ per day), with possible electrical connection (if you have the appropriate cables) which is really a +.

I really like this hotel. It is decorated with taste and originality. Since we are close to Combray, Marcel Proust would have liked to stay there. Very good breakfast.

Nice hotel and very well located, warm welcome, small room and poorly soundproofed and noisy because you can hear the noise from the other rooms upstairs and next door. Small bathroom, as well as the shower. Missing a magnifying mirror in the bathroom. Television works very poorly, access to channels very difficult. We ate at the restaurant for dinner, too bad that most of the dishes are served with mushrooms especially for a person who is allergic to them, the dishes were delicious but disappointed by the bland desserts.

Very nice hotel, the establishment is nicely decorated, and the staff very welcoming and helpful. On the other hand, 2 big negative points, the 1st: the soundproofing which is non-existent. We hear all the discussions from the neighboring rooms, and at night we have the impression of sleeping with our neighbor on the landing (snoring ....) 2nd: the lack of accessibility for people with reduced mobility. As for the hotel restaurant "l'Amphitryon" it is superb. The dishes are beautiful, good, the cuisine is inventive. On the other hand, I would have liked better support from the sommelier.

Use of the private parking was needed which was only 80m away, the location of the hotel is only a short walk from the town centre.
The restaurant is excellent, we would eat here again even if we weren't staying at the hotel, the staff were very professional in the service and the served with care and attention, the food was delicious.
The staff are all very welcoming, friendly and helpful.

The private parking booked in April was questioned by the receptionist and we had to prove the booking by showing him the email sent from the hotel to me. Otherwise the facilities and evening food and breakfast were superb.

The customer service was amazing. One of our bicycles had broken and they helped us get a replacement, and then after we had departed they helped us ship the broken bicycle back to the UK. Thankyou for all your help. You enabled us to continue our holiday

Extremely well situated hotel in a town with much to offer to the passing tourist. Hotel was smart and clean, and the restaurant offered good food, both staffed by a welcoming and friendly team. As the hotel is an older building I guess, the elevator is very 'cozy' indeed but the hotel itself, the decor and other amenities I found very pleasant and up to date. Shower space was also very tight - but the shower itself was good. I also would have preferred the hotel parking, which is not on site, to be free rather than chargeable, but it was extremely close to the hotel [and the cathedral]. The breakfast was good and plentiful. Overall, I would be happy to stay there again.

Reservation for 2 nights, the L'Amphytrion restaurant is really very good, the service attentive and efficient, the pleasant setting. The breakfast served in the dining room offers a complete offering. We also enjoyed our experience at the cocktail bar. The extra parking is a real advantage in the center of Chartres, parking being very complicated in this city! The downside comes from the room, door opening directly onto the corridor, without airlock or entrance, bathroom certainly renovated but far from being impeccable, we smell the DIY and patching, rickety toilet and unsuitable toilet seat, electrical installation under rods poorly adjusted electrics, not inspiring confidence. Too bad there is such a gap between the restaurant, the welcome, the service, the bar, the setting and the quality of the rooms...

Very nice, the bed was a little short for me I'm 185cm tall it was 190cm But it was…. Maybe poorly soundproofed, you can hear everything But it doesn't matter It's a nice hotel

An excellent up-market experience and there really is a magnificant view of the Cathedral, especially at night.

Well located hotel

This is a beautiful hotel, with a wonderful atmosphere right across from the cathedral. I tried emailing a few times before we arrived to ask about parking and to book a table in the restaurant but didn't receive a reply. It transpired both had booked when we got there... so my message had been received. In the restaurant we ordered three courses and the food was good but our third course didn't arrive. We asked a young waiter after waiting twenty five minutes for this third course and then another ten minutes later it still wasn't there, so we left. We had also been hoping to order more wine to accompany our desert and cheese but didn't get the chance. It seemed that the restaurant had become very busy with people who seemed to know the staff and we were suddenly invisible. I couldn't understand how they were struggling though as there were so many waiters. It's a shame as this is a really lovely place with good food and all the staff were very polite and friendly ... just disorganised. I want to leave this feedback as the place has the propensity to be excellent. Also we found out that their parking spaces weren't really big enough for a 4x4 so we reserved at Q space carpark some 200 metres away which wasn't a problem .... just mentioning this for people with reduced mobility

Very poorly soundproofed hotel, the services are not up to the price (very small room and bathroom) In addition to the noise of other customers (footsteps, conversations and others) we had karaoke music loudly until 1 a.m. 😤 and this even after calling reception. If you want to sleep in a hotel, that seems legitimate to me, and run away.

the noise walls too thin we can hear the neighbors in the next room as if we were with them both in the bedroom and in the bathroom

We have stayed many times over the years at this hotel. We like the bar.though a little expensive and the restaurant is good. Staff always helpful and friendly. Having car parking is necessary.

the hotel is very well located, the room was pretty and spacious, the parking at €9 per day is perfect and a stone's throw from the hotel. The only downside is that the room is moderately insulated and the breakfast could be more varied. Despite everything, the hotel was very beautiful and it was a pleasant stay for a first visit to Chartres.

El hotel está perfectamente situado, a 3 minutos andando de la catedral. La decoración del hotel es preciosa, tanto en la entrada como en la habitación y el restaurante.
Destacar el desayuno de buffet. Los productos que tienen son de excelente calidad.
Personal muy amable.
Muy contentos con nuestra estancia.
