We had a very good experience at this hotel. The person who greeted us was very friendly and always smiling. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the food was excellent, no complaints whatsoever. There was a wide variety of choices for breakfast, something for everyone.

It's a shame to have such a lovely exterior and not make the most of it. The interior is shabby, with an absolutely unpleasant smell that's strongest in the hallways and in the room we stayed in. We had to open the window several times (even though it was quite cool outside) to try and get some fresh air, but it quickly became unbearable again. It was also quite warm in the room, which didn't help the smell. That was definitely the most bothersome thing. As for the price, I think it's quite expensive for what it actually is. It's not comparable to a B&B or an Ibis where—generally speaking—you can get a comfortable night's sleep. Regarding breakfast, I don't have much to say except that I tried to get some water, and it was really bad. Tap water, combined with the horrible smell we had in our room. I think the dishes must smell of that odor, which "flavors" the water. Using brand-name water like Volvic, Cristaline, or something similar would have been much more pleasant to drink... Regarding our 8:30 pm arrival, telling us we were expected at 7 pm and lecturing us is hardly what I call professional. When we made the reservation, we didn't yet know what time we would actually arrive, and blaming a customer for being late is clearly inappropriate, or at the very least, saying it more politely would have been much better received. The way they handled it wasn't really appropriate. And the whole issue between the neighbor's parking lot and the cottage's parking lot, and any potential friction between the two establishments, isn't really what concerns us... Especially since we were parked properly, and not in the neighbor's lot in the first place. To put it simply, this woman's behavior wasn't exactly welcoming... And I doubt we would have been spoken to that way if we were 20 or 30 years older, or if we were men. When you're not above reproach, you don't allow yourself to be so critical.
We had a lovely stay at this hotel. It's a 10-minute walk from Chenonceau Castle. There were four of us in a family room, and it was plenty big enough. We opted for half-board and the food was excellent: complete, delicious, and plentiful. We received a very warm welcome, both at reception and in the restaurant.
A great discovery, I will gladly return.
During my business trips, I make a special detour to spend a comfortable, quiet evening there, with excellent Wi-Fi. The service, overall, is exemplary. My only complaint, a minor one, is that it's absolutely impossible to contact the establishment by phone.

A very warm welcome. Pleasant and smiling staff. EV charging stations right next to the entrance of the hotel's free private indoor parking. A large, very comfortable room (our room, N4), very clean, with bottled water, biscuits, and tea provided. Quality bedding with a large double bed. Large bathroom with toiletries and a separate toilet. Flat-screen TV. Excellent breakfast with a wide selection of products, homemade jams, cold cuts, omelets, fruit, etc. We had a very pleasant stay. I recommend this hotel.

Unfortunately, upon our arrival, the room was freezing cold and unheated. The bathroom radiator was disconnected and not working. It was impossible to shower.

The room was perfectly adequate, but it was very cold and there was no information on how to heat it. Breakfast was perfectly fine. Dinner was unsatisfactory (very outdated decor and bland, unappetizing food). You have to walk through the staff break room or work area to get to the dining room.
We stayed 3 nights at this hotel. The welcome was very pleasant, with an attentive staff member who was concerned about the guests' well-being. However, several technical issues should be noted: no heating in the bathroom despite the low temperatures, a non-functional towel warmer, several power outages during our stay, and the parking lot lighting was not working despite the installation of the wiring. The establishment has a rather austere appearance and would benefit from investment in equipment and overall comfort.

Having left a wristband in my room, I tried unsuccessfully to call the hotel a few hours after my departure, and several times over the course of a week. I called the landline, the mobile number found on the website, sent emails, and left messages on the answering machine… No one answered or called me back, which I find unacceptable.

Hotel Clair Cottage is a lovely hotel in the Loire Valley - many chateaux are within easy driving distance and there is a great walk along the river directly from the hotel.
Plenty of free parking on site.
Rooms are of a good size , with comfortable beds and bedding, better lighting than a lot of the hotels we have stayed at, courtesy tray in room including bottles of water which were much appreciated, tv , en suite bathroom with walk in shower and complimentary toiletries.
As we were at the far end of the hotel we found the free wi-fi sporadic, but that was easily sorted by going down in to the lounge area.
Buffet breakfast was excellent - great value for money : a great choice of cold meats and cheeses, hot scrambled eggs and bacon ,cereals, various breads, cakes , the largest pain au raisin and pain au chocolat I have ever seen (as big as my hand ....and very fresh and tasty.) jams, honey, syrup, fruit juices, hot drinks . Definitely worth having.
We had an evening meal on the first night : good choices available .The young waitress was attentive and friendly.
Sadly on the second night we were disappointed , which is a real shame as everything had been fine until then.: our entree arrived , and was very tasty. However we then sat at our table for a further hour without our main course being served , despite numerous tables around us (who arrived and placed their orders later than we did ) receiving their mains and even finishing them. We received no warning of a delay or reason why. Due to medication my husband takes he needs to eat at regular intervals so we eventually left the restaurant and ate snacks from our car.
One blip in out stay - but we would still return to this hotel.

Our welcome was with a smile, the rooms very spacious and comfortable. The evening dinner a pleasure with a few dishes from Reunion, a welcome variation indeed.

VERY WELL-LOCATED HOTEL FOR DISCOVERING AND STOPOVERS ON THE LOIRE BY BIKE
The photos give the impression of a beautiful residence with a lovely terrace. However, the hotel needs a major refresh to match the photo: breakfast room, reception, terrace to be planted. The quality of the morning buffet is also quite average: very basic teas, overcooked scrambled eggs that seem from the day before, industrial brioche, greasy pastries. For €150, you can really expect a lot. The room, however, is quite acceptable.
