Overall, a very satisfying experience, with a 10/10 in particular for the exceptionally high-quality breakfast buffet, one of the best I have ever eaten in a hotel anywhere in the world.

Good local establishment in the small town of Charlieu

Very well located in a quiet area near the town centre of this very charming little town. Comfortable and very clean hotel. Private parking. Good quality on-site restaurant.
The photos of the privilege room don't reflect reality. The sleeping area is outdated, and the smell of white vinegar in the common areas at 7:30 am is unbearable. Being grabbed by the sleeve by the lady of the house between the restaurant and the room to pay before going to bed was appalling! I remind you that a credit card imprint is taken when booking online. It would have been more sensible to request payment at check-in if I looked like a thief. I think it's time to hand over the reins to younger hoteliers. The restaurant deserves a thumbs up: the atmosphere isn't amazing, but the food is good and there are nice choices for the set menu. Similarly, the breakfast is quite extraordinary with top-quality charcuterie, salmon, and jams, an incredible variety of fresh fruit (even sliced passion fruit!), and sweet snacks to take away for exploring. All of this is served in a panoramic room upstairs. The hotel's surroundings are great, you think you're arriving at a "small" 4* hotel, but you're disappointed as soon as you enter the room, I won't be back.

I always return to the Relais de l'Abbaye when I travel and I have never been disappointed. The quality of the restaurant, the breakfast and of course the attentiveness of the staff make this hotel a place to recommend.

This was our first time at this establishment. We were delighted and will return when we are in the area again. Very comfortable room. High-quality restaurant as well as a very comprehensive breakfast.
I asked for a carafe of water when ordering, which I never received. My starter wasn't what I ordered. The side dish wasn't very well matched. The dessert was very simple and cold. And the most annoying thing was a cockroach in the room. No pastries at breakfast, and they were overcooked when they were served. Too bad.
I paid 115 euros for my room to discover stained sheets, crumbs everywhere. Discolored carpet. In conclusion, an expensive and poorly maintained hotel. The price is not justified.

Pleasant hotel, professional and friendly staff. Very clean hotel. We had a ground floor room with a small private terrace. Regarding the restaurant, we arrived late (8:30 p.m.) but we had the opportunity to dine there. The sweetbread and scallop casserole and the Get 27 soufflé dessert were excellent.

Everything was perfect: warm welcome, quality and personalized service, the dishes were delicious, with amazing flavors (bravo to the cooks and pastry chefs!). Our bed (room 15) was of poor quality, the mattress was deformed and we were unable to sleep through the night. Our room was cramped.

Your logos exceeded my expectation in every way except I found the bed mattress far too firm. It was a comfortable room, extremely clean and the bathroom was a perfect size and very functional. The welcome was genuine and warm.

Excellent value for money
Everything was perfect. The hotel is very accessible, you can park easily in the car park in front. The room is simple and elegant, the bed very comfortable. The room and bathroom are very clean and neat. You can have dinner in the evening at the restaurant (35€ set menu) even if you haven't booked in advance, it's very appreciable when you've had a long day and you're tired. The staff is charming and attentive and accommodating if you have special requests. I would come back with pleasure (and relief to have found a place of such quality).

Hotel side and breakfast very good but restaurant side the prices are exorbitant. They are just justified by the too large number of servers to be paid. The dishes are common. The fries are just 2 potatoes cut into 4. The wines are very average. Very disappointing.

Beautiful establishment, good welcome. However, the room was small because a 3-seater sofa, in my opinion unnecessary, cluttered the space; left side of the bed much too close to the window panel and its curtains!!

It was the restaurant that guided our choice. we had a shared experience (overcooked Turbot main course and unsophisticated side dish for a bib gourmand). The price of the room is high compared to the bedding. (measurement taken on other rooms at this rate in more opulent places). Room with pleasant private garden. Room size and equipment good. Bedding: poor quality mattresses. perfect cleanliness. excellent breakfast, lots of choice, local and fresh products, salty and sweet. Very good value for money. a suggestion, it is a good idea at this price to add some raw vegetables (tomato or broccoli style) for diabetics.
Given the relatively high room prices, I had always expected something a little bigger. The only thing missing for breakfast was some vegetables (tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, herbs).

This establishment is popular with the whole family. A stay at the Relais de l'Abbaye is always a moment of conviviality because of the welcome given to us, the quality of its catering, and the comfort of the rooms. Too bad the heating is a bit noisy.
