Restaurant le Tronçais

This is our fourth stay at the Hotel Le Tronçais. We arrived around 4:15 pm and received a very warm welcome and were shown to our room. We had an excellent dinner with succulent sweetbreads.

A peaceful hotel in the heart of the forest. The welcome was very friendly, the room very comfortable, especially the perfect bedding! A welcome tray was provided in the room. Dinner was excellent, and the hotelier's recommendations were a bonus. Breakfast, with pastries, freshly squeezed orange juice, and yogurt, was delicious. We'll be back for a walk in the forest in the fall! Thank you for preserving places like this!

The establishment was clean, the welcome excellent, the food delicious, and the service fantastic. The bedding was very high quality. The only downside: the bathroom in the room (overnight stay) was a bit dated, and the heating wasn't on when we arrived. It took a long time for the room to reach a comfortable temperature. Also, be sure to check that the complimentary bottle of water is new; mine was already open. Despite this, the value for money is excellent.

Special mention for the welcome and the food

Beautiful, quiet hotel, well located on the lake, great restaurant. Breakfast a little expensive at 14 euros, no buffet, but still satisfactory. I recommend it.

Do not recommend

Room: Shower with blocked jets! Poor heating! MEAL: I had booked a gourmet meal for €70. It turns out that I chose dishes from the €35 menu. How can I justify the €70? Okay, there was the aperitif. Otherwise, quality meal and perfect service!

Beautiful setting, very friendly welcome. We really appreciated the advice given to us to go and listen to the deer call! We just regretted the absence of a small table or a desk in our room. The disadvantage of duvets (which are becoming widespread in all hotels) is that they are generally much too warm. When will there be light duvets for customers to choose from?

Our opinion is mixed, namely that: Room not great! Room 12 in the annex - Velux curtain in a mess; and moldy (black) all over the bottom - Manual roller shutter doesn't work well - No bedside table. Shower really unsanitary (moldy all over the bottom!) This room should be redone before offering it. €85 is still not a small price. We expected better. Breakfast: Very good but not many options. A small self-service restaurant would be welcome. Restaurant Very good - pleasantly surprised. Friendliness of the manager appreciated.

The Tronçais Hotel is quite unique. In the heart of a vast forest, it exudes nature and tranquility. We always sleep very well there. The service and welcome are provided by a pleasant family. The food is very good and attracts locals from the surrounding area (Cher and Allier), which is often an excellent sign. It is truly a special place where we have been stopping for a very long time on our vacation route. Special mention to the current owners who are carrying out a plan to renovate the rooms. It is not luxurious but simply comfortable and good value for money.

From arrival to departure, our stay was made extremely pleasant thanks to the kind and friendly welcome of the people who welcomed us, not forgetting the delicious dinner and breakfast.

This charming residence offers excellent value for money and guarantees a peaceful stay thanks to the forest setting. The service is excellent, thanks in particular to the dedication of the owner couple, who are very attentive and professional. The restaurant is also a pleasant surprise, with varied and high-quality dishes. A very good choice for those who want to get off the beaten track and avoid the hordes of tourists in the summer.

A very warm welcome in a chic and quiet place, the rooms are comfortable, the restaurant serves excellent dishes, I recommend the Negroni cocktail as an aperitif, and the sweetbreads as a main course. This establishment is worth a detour.

A remarkable site.

Very pretty building, comfortable room, shower a little narrow. Please note that in case of extreme heat these do not have air conditioning but only a fan. However, the establishment made a nice commercial gesture due to the discomfort linked to scorching temperatures.

Een heerlijk hotel met echt enorm vriendelijke gastheer en gastvrouw. De man sprak erg goed Engels, wat op sommige momenten wel erg fijn was. Het was er heerlijk relaxed en niets was te moeilijk of te lastig. Ik miste een koelkast op de kamer, gezien de temperatuur (40 graden) en er had wat betreft broodbeleg wat meer aanbod mogen zijn (alleen boter en twee potjes jam), maar het is absoluut geen reden om een lagere score te geven ! Wij gaan er zeker terug komen !

An extremely warm welcome, despite a late arrival, a large comfortable room, and the kindness to serve us late, an excellent meal even though we hadn't warned. The setting is magnificent. The couple who run the establishment are warm and eager to make everything perfect. We would love to stay there for eight days!
