Very pleasantly surprised considering the ratings on online sites. The restaurant was excellent. The staff were efficient. The hotel was clean. There was a bit of noise from the hallway. I was surprised by mosquitoes! Be careful with the bathroom vanity unit; it needs legs, I think.

Super netjes allemaal, hotel ligt aan een doorgaande weg met verkeer, maar door de goede isolatie hoor je niets. Kamer en badkamer echt super netjes en schoon. Restaurant is een aanrader, heerlijk gegeten voor een hele nette prijs.

The price-performance ratio would have been excellent, if it weren't for the small breakfast for €12 per person. It consisted of two types of sausage, two types of cheese, and either scrambled or boiled eggs.

...A late autumn stopover (almost winter already!), so the peace and quiet and availability were much appreciated due to the lower crowds. As a result, the welcome was truly "human-scale" and in the countryside. The room was beautifully renovated with taste and comfort. ...As food lovers, we must admit that the seasonal menu (main course and dessert!) impressed us with its presentation, but also with all the flavors and details of the preparations. Truly beautiful work to highlight: the salmon rosette on slightly crispy beetroot (pure refinement!), duck breast (not fatty at all!) with subtle parsnip cream and sauce, or the duck confit leg, accompanied by stuffed cabbage!... while the "trompe l'oeil" pear looked like it came straight from a top pastry chef competition. The chef and the pastry chef really make a great team... not to be separated (°-°)... from the other members of the team, by the way! (at reception or in the hall). A very eloquent thank you to everyone!

An excellent discovery. A completely renovated and very well-equipped establishment. The staff are incredibly friendly and motivated to make your stay enjoyable. To top it all off, the evening set menu is surprisingly varied and very appealing, featuring cuisine that is out of the ordinary, yet perfectly executed. Absolutely flawless! It's automatically added to my favorites and will definitely be one of my stops on future trips.

Vriendelijke ontvangst en betrokken personeel. Goede ruime kamer op de begane grond, met dito badkamer en inloopdouche en goede bedden, erg fijn voor ons.

De nieuwe kamers zijn goed met prima bedden. Alles is schoon en fris. Het eten is voortreffelijk. Blijkbaar een Vietnamese kokkin. Die van ons een 10 krijgt. Heerlijk gegeten. Personeel receptie en restaurant zijn top.

Rural location, easily accessible hotel. Very friendly welcome. Completely renovated and modern, tastefully decorated. Room has air conditioning and a good bed. Pleasant terrace with table service. Restaurant has a good menu and serves delicious dishes. Good advice from the waiting staff regarding wines and dishes. Minor drawbacks: there is sometimes a faint ‘sewer-like’ smell in the room. Fortunately, this disappears very quickly. And really annoying: lots of fruit flies in the restaurant.
Good breakfast buffet from 7 a.m. Overall impression: very nice hotel for a stopover.

Well-maintained, clean hotel! The restaurant's food is "gastronomic," which we don't expect in a transit hotel; the dishes are too complicated! But definitely recommended: clean rooms and comfortable beds! We stayed twice this holiday: on the way to our destination and on the way back.

Hello, To begin with: beautiful establishment with a beautiful room and good bedding in a pleasant setting. Big downside: The mosquitoes in the room and in the restaurant, I had to fight with them while eating. Regarding the evening stopover: I did not have a feeling of welcome: separate restaurant room with a single menu: a starter, a main course, a dessert. My neighbor at the table who did not eat pork had the horrible remark: "why don't you eat pork?". The ladies next to me who had not had an aperitif were allowed olives. When paying the next day, no request was made to see if the stay had gone well, as is done in every establishment. I politely mentioned that the single menu was rare and restrictive. The answer: here it is like that, we only have 19 rooms. Why do other establishments of a similar size do better? All this leads to a very divided opinion.

Hotel is goed.
Nog een paar tips:
Bij aankomst na 19.00 uur is het onduidelijk dat je je moet melden bij het restaurant. De balie is dan niet bezet. Het zou handig zijn als er een bordje staat met die verwijzing.
De badkamer die bij onze kamer hoorde had een rioollucht, dit heb ik vaker in reviews gelezen, jammer dat dit nog niet is opgelost.

The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. The beds are very comfortable. The welcome is very friendly and efficient. The chef has very creative cuisine with a sometimes surprising, but very successful combination of flavors.

Wij waren met onze hond 1 nacht in het hotel. De kamers zijn mooi nieuw opgeknapt, schoon en goede bedden. Goed geslapen. De badkamer ook helemaal nieuw, ruim en schoon. Wij hebben de D-weg niet gehoord. Het personeel was heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het restaurant is heel fijn als je van een lange reis komt. Het eten was goed en de bediening prima. Je kan ook in de omgeving een wandeling door het dorpje maken. Er waren flink wat Nederlandse gasten onderweg. Het ontbijt was ook heel goed, croissant, roerei, kaas, verse jam en vers brood. Ontbijt was ook vanaf 7.00 al mogelijk. Heel fijn. Wifi was wat wiebelig maar meestal goed.

Een uitstekend en gastvriendelijk hotel. Mooie kamers, erg goed eten en klantvriendelijk personeel. Niets op aan te merken.

Ein sehr schönes Hotel für eine Zwischenübernachtung. Die Zimmer sind nicht so groß, aber mit allem was man braucht. Frühstück und vor allem das Abendessen sind sehr zu empfehlen.

This was a really lovely hotel. The staff were extremely friendly , the room was spotless and the food in the restaurant was the best meal of the holiday!
There was loads of parking spaces in front of the hotel. The only negative was the WiFi was very weak/non existent in our room.

Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

The water pressure was very low, so the shower only gave a very small stream of water.

Hotel has been refurbished to a very good standard.
Have stayed here many times rooms used to be very tired. But now they are very modern and nicely decorated.
Prices have increased but well worth the money.
Restaurant on site great choice of breakfast.

Perfect, we will stop there again when we return. The restaurant is also excellent.

Only French television channels are available. During my stay several guests were not French so I expect them to have the same wishes.
The bathroom towel was clearly worn and should be replaced.
Besides these points I enjoyed my stay and I think I will return.

Despite late arrival very flexible and friendly start of stay with first question whether or not we would like dinner as the kitchen was about to close . Kitchen staff stayed longer to make very very nice dinner

3 persoons kamer, airco maakte iedere 5 minuten een hard krakend geluid. Kon 1 raam open omdat voor de andere geen hor zat, maar door geluid van constant voorbij rijdende treinen en vrachtwagens was dit ook geen optie met 37 graden overdag en een erg warme nacht. Kamer zat vol met muggen.
Badkamer was in orde maar niet schoon, lag haar op de grond en er zaten spetters tandpasta op de spiegel.
Gegeten in het restaurant. Om 19u gereserveerd en ter plaatse. Wij waren de eerste in het restaurant. Echter iedereen die na ons kwam werd geholpen. Wij kregen na 1,5 uur een voorgerecht. Menu was duur, erg kleine porties. Onze zoon van zes heeft 1,5 uur op zijn eten gewacht, waarna het stukje kipfilet met wat groente flink gepeperd op tafel kwam. In de nacht ziek geworden van (waarschijnlijk) het eten.
Eigenlijk het enige wat in orde was, wat dat het extra bed wel lekker lag. Tweepersoonsbed was erg hard. Een verschrikkelijke nachts gehad op doorreis vanuit het zuiden naar huis.
Wij komen hier nooit meer terug en raden het iedereen af, weggegooid geld.

Schitterend hotel met een keuken met sterrenwaarde. Super lekker en mooi gepresenteerd. Heel flexibel personeel. Mijn ochtendlijk baantjes zwemmen in het zwembad was voor hen geen probleem. Kamer met badkamer zeer mooi en net. Goede bedden, rustig, heerlijke douche. Fijne mensen.

After staying there for 5 nights. Human and pleasant staff. All of them. Whether it's the excellent cooks, waiters, or chambermaids. The rooms are clean. The meal: the 39 euro menus are excellent and bold. A mix of cuisine sometimes with an Asian touch in good French gastronomy. The desserts: I've never seen such boldness in the mouth. Flavors never associated and surprising. Bravo to the pastry chef. The waitresses are friendly and kind. The pool is pleasant to swim in. The environment is great! In the greenery and next to a medieval town like Langres. Possibility of cycling around the lakes in the region and observing black swans. You have to dig to the national forest park and see its marshes. After a beautiful visit, a little massage is a must at the hotel. I never thought I would experience such a massage by a person expert in different types of massages, with magic hands. Gwen is passionate and knows the acupressure points. The breakfast is very varied, perhaps there is a cheese missing to spread on the bread. Excellent jams made by a grandmother who has her own fruit trees. Everything is local and fresh. My husband and I had a green and peaceful stay. The parking is so practical and accessible to people with mobility difficulties. Even access to the reception is designed for people with mobility difficulties. I wanted to point this out since I worked in this field. Outdoor games for children would be welcome in the future. Hotel/restaurant well located to split our journey from the South of France to the Netherlands in two. Clean hotel, a little noisy on the terrace because it is "on the edge" of the road, but large private parking, beautiful swimming pool and good overall (at this price level) Excellent food and very pleasant service. The choice of products is of very good quality. The restaurant is "worth the detour"... On the other hand, Wi-Fi is unavailable in our room above the restaurant. Perhaps a bad connection somewhere?

1: When I did not rate 5 stars it is because of the following reason:
I was looking for a hotel to stay overnight during our trip home from Spain to Holland. My selection was based on “ breakfast included” mentioned on the website.
On arrival I was reassured that my reservation was oké and it included breakfast. During check-out next morning I was told that I had to pay for 1 breakfast, because it was only inclusive for 1 person. This is very weird, since I booked a double room for a couple. And I wasn’t told so at arrival.
2: In the restaurant there was only one option for vegetarians (for the main course).

Lack of qualifications and insufficient numbers of catering staff. Otherwise, the meal was excellent and the room spotless.

First of all the room is small, simple with an air conditioner above the bed (never place an air conditioner above the bed)

We stayed here last year while the renovations were in progress. It's in a nice location, very rural but near the road. We were excited by the new room, they've done a really good job. The only problem was the air conditioning set to switch off after 20 minutes (it was 37 that day). We remembered the food fondly from last year but there have been changes, I suppose, and our meal wasn't great. Nice breakfast though.

Hotel accommodations in line with our expectations, non-existent welcome, in the middle of the afternoon! Superb room, practically unwatchable TV, bathroom heating, impossible to turn on, except by lying down on the floor, to operate the keyboard.... breakfast leaves us with a feeling of deprivation, compared to what we are used to at the big ACCOR chains.

We had a very nice stay in Saint Michel. Friendly people, nice room, nice and quiet around the hotel. Easy to come there from the A31. And the Good was also very good.
We like to come here again.
