Small room, very noisy (road right at window level and noisy from the hallway, but also from the showers in the rooms upstairs). Asian restaurant, average breakfast.
There was no toilet paper. A basic necessity!
The check-in at the hotel was adequate, but the room we were given was a single room with only one bed. We were later given a different room. There was no way to open the window or even the shutters; the window was sealed shut. Several light bulbs in the bathroom were out. At 3:30 a.m., we had to go down to the ground floor to ask them to turn down the music and ask the other guests to speak more quietly, as the noise was reaching the first floor and making it impossible to sleep. The location is nice, though; it's a shame we didn't have access to the private parking lot next to the breakfast room. I would not recommend this hotel.
Quiet and pleasant room.
A stay at the Monarque is a bit like stepping into a comic strip… but in ultimate comfort. From the moment you arrive, the welcome is warm, genuine, almost intimate—you can tell that here, hospitality isn't just a slogan, it's a way of life. The room is immaculate, quiet, spotlessly clean, with bedding so comfortable you seriously hesitate to venture out again. The hotel is ideally located; everything is within walking distance, without any unnecessary noise or hustle and bustle. A true haven, perfectly isolated from the hustle and bustle, where sleep becomes a tranquil luxury. And then there's the magic of the place: the entire hotel pays homage to comics, with a particular fondness for Tintin. For my part, I had the privilege of sleeping in the Milou room—a faithful companion, absolute calm, peaceful nights guaranteed. No barking, just sweet dreams. The Monarque is a magnificent discovery: comfortable, original, inspired, and deeply endearing. You come for one night, you leave wanting to return… and with a smile that lasts long after the last photo. A hotel with a soul. And that's not so common.
Ideally located hotel, welcoming staff
Hotel close to the centre, clean as expected, small parking lot, pleasant welcome
Nice quirky, clean and friendly. Only negative is expensive breakfast. 12 euro for small choice. + could do with extra pillows
During my stay, there was no heating in my room. I wasn't the only one in this situation. Some rooms were heated, and others weren't. The boiler problem hadn't started on the day of my arrival. It seemed to have been going on for several days. The only saving grace was that I was able to get a portable heater. Because I asked for it... Unfortunately, the staff could never reach the manager. It's unbelievable to hear that this person is unreachable. And not just on the day of my stay. The staff, unfortunately, have to fend for themselves. One thing is certain: I will never set foot in this establishment again if things don't change. And yet, before the hotel was sold, I stayed there regularly whenever I was traveling, and the service was excellent.
Well located and welcoming hotel
Car parking is no longer aviable. Rooms are relative small but sufficient.
Staff is super friendly, location is very Vertrag.
Storing the bikes is absolutely great.
The breakfast is great and worth the money.
We were here twice and absolutely come again.
Funny all the pictures of Tintin…
Good location for visiting the city and the region. Very pleasant triple room but breakfasts not up to scratch at all (no cups on our arrival then no fresh bread, then no more coffee, no more fruit salad...) and despite that a price of €12 when it was displayed as €10 in the window, very disappointing.
Simple, efficient and warm welcome. The check-out with good advice on how to get to the parking lot to avoid getting wet in the pouring rain while loading the car. A downside regarding the efficiency of the air conditioning on the day of arrival… without any effect on the night and morning given the drop in temperatures. Excellent value for money… I regret not having been able to try the restaurant with Chinese flavors
Great hotel, very well located! And unusual decor ;)
Welcoming professional
Well-located 3-star hotel offering air-conditioned rooms. However, we had a room in the attic with no air conditioning and a temperature of over 35 degrees. No Wi-Fi either. The receptionist was completely overwhelmed and offered no solutions. A dismal experience.
They should make it clear, no elevator . And multi level.

They were very helpfully and so very very kind!
