We had booked this hotel , so as to eat in the restaurant, however when we got there they had moved us on to a 9pm time for a table , this was totally unacceptable, this has set the tone for our review as we hadn't eaten since a snack at 12.30 pm and to be expected to wait nearly 10 hours before eating again
I have been very satisfied for years
Very delighted to discover the Cotentin which is Magnificent A total change of scenery We will come back to stay there
Superb experience. We will definitely return. The hotel is peaceful and relaxing, the staff is super friendly, the likes of which you don't see much anymore, and the waiters and waitresses get along really well. Congratulations to everyone for your professionalism.
We didn't end up staying here as we couldn't get there due to the trains being on strike but would not have any hesitation about booking again as they gave us a full refund as they managed to re let the room
Friendly staff. Quality food.
Welcome, availability and attentive to our requests, great. Downside on the comfort of the interior staircase, too steep.
The only positive thing was the breakfast. There was no welcome, the room was tiny, the restaurant terrace was under the bedroom window, making it impossible to sleep before midnight. The restaurant was not tested.
Hotel room right on the harbor
Restaurant below
Fantastic food
Well-located hotel, Hotel industry: clean room and bathroom, the downsides: room a little narrow, steep staircase. In terms of equipment, the bathroom lacks a shelf to put your toiletries, and the bedroom lacks coat racks. As for the catering, we have been coming here for several years and we are always disappointed by the service offered.
Very clean room, very good breakfast
Good stay at the hotel and restaurant as well as breakfast.
Attentive welcome, including for bikes. Small but very comfortable room. Gargantuan breakfast with a special mention for the delicious gingerbread.
Beautiful hotel restaurant
Beautiful family room.
The location ,staff and facilities of this hotel is excellent and is a perfect stop over or a few days when returning to cherbourg for the ferry. Thank you to all for our pleasant stay.
Room a little small, good for short stays. Clean, functional. Shower head attachment needs to be reviewed.
Perfect welcome at customer service
Very very average, the view from the room onto a staircase and a rather dirty terrace without a counter, the smells from the kitchen did not make our stay a success, small room, very little space in the bathroom, not to mention that it is extremely noisy. The neighbor's phone vibrates all night. Regarding breakfast, how can I say that for a 3 star we are far from satisfaction, very little choice and especially drop by drop you should definitely consume. In short, in a 1st class we have better lunch. We also had lunch with friends, nothing sensational either. It was good yes, but for a zero coke you will have to go elsewhere, he does not know. Basically we will not come back.
We were on a motorcycle trip and the room have just enough space for the jackets, panniers and helmets. The rooms are clean, and the beds were super comfy.
Everything is perfect. The welcome, friendliness, cleanliness, food, and quality/price ratio are highly recommended.
Very small room with a sea view?? In fact, you can see the sea through a very small window!
Very strong smell of smoke in the restaurant and hotel. No air conditioning or fans available, making the room extremely hot. Optimal value for money.
Hotel ideally located for visiting the Cotentin, free parking right in front of the establishment! Very friendly and welcoming staff! Room and bathroom as well as toilet clean but room too small for cozy comfort, impossible to cross in the room, only one seat to sit down for two so only the bed remains, minimalist bathroom very small not easy for ragement for a stay of a week, for a hotel stamped cozy first time that no courtesy tray it's a shame and other difficulty but there it is really subjective and completely personal because of our health, room located on the 2nd floor, stairs hard with suitcases! Advice for more comfort choose a family room for 2 people and if difficulty due to health think to ask if a ground floor is possible but it is more expensive!
Very small room, tastelessly renovated. No reception in the evening, bar and restaurant closed, nothing in the room to make a drink. The next day, cold and haughty welcome, generous breakfast but without pastries. Very poor value for money €140 for 11 m2 at the back. Very polite chambermaid but man at the cash register very arrogant and openly disregarding customer satisfaction!!!
Difficult accessibility.... So many stairs and steps... Old-fashioned and small room. Breakfast was okay, nothing special. The only positive point was the welcome!
In June 2025, very hot room with shutters not closed upon arrival, no air conditioning and the cornice at the back higher than the nearby building prevents ventilation of the room with the window open even at night, too bad! Nice dinner.
Always very easy to book and check in. Everyone is very helpful and friendly. Thank you.
The room was beautifully done but incredibly small. Unfortunately after a long journey the restaurant wasn’t open on the Monday evening and the hotelier couldn’t really recommend anywhere else!
Tiny room overlooking a tin roof and the cliff behind... Super noisy VMC... only the bedding saved our stay from complete disaster.
I recommend it, clean, cozy room and comfortable bedding. During the evening stopover, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the menu. Atypical setting to discover.
I really recommend this establishment: good breakfast in the morning and a superb menu and menus at reasonable prices for the quality. An attentive and helpful team as well as a superb view facing the port make this place a pleasant place for a vacation. I slept very well, proof that the mattress is good! The cleaning team is also top-notch; only one downside, the room is small, especially if there are two of you.
Excellent location, clean smart rooms looking out onto the seaside.
Very pleasant and relaxing stay
We took the first price room and it was really small but clean and good bedding
Very good bedding Very pleasant cleaning staff Good breakfast Good size of the room
Very charming hotel, very pretty decor and exceptional food. Perfect service.
Pleasant hotel, room with modern and warm decor. To be a little picky, a thermostatic mixer would be preferable for the shower because you quickly go from scalding hot to icy cold.
Everything is as it should be for a good price with great friendly staff
Friendly staff. Good food. Room not large but very well appointed and in trendy colors. Very nice
Decent hotel. Hearty breakfast. Well-cooked meal.
Regulars, everything was OK!
perfect in every way
Very comfortable hotel and very good restaurant. My address in Carteret!!!
Nice hotel with attentive and professional staff
Loved our stay will be back would like to stay longer maybe next time
Modern clean comfortable room, excellent buffet breakfast. Free parking outside is safe and accessible. Location gives harbour views and a short pleasant walk to Bar Le Port !
Comfortable room, excellent restaurant, welcoming staff in a nice environment!
Hotel du Cap is a great place to stay for a visit to this part of Normandy - it is a comfortable hotel in a great situation overlooking the harbour.
Spacious room. Restaurant staff friendly and smiling and the dishes offered excellent
Room well decorated, but extremely small. Shower old. Many TV channels missing. Reception almost non-existent. This is a 2 star and not a 3 in terms of services. Positive point: dogs accepted, geographical location in relation to the sites of visits.
everything is correct, but noisy VMC and tiny rooms
Room and bathrooms clean overall. Some missing dusty underbeds and room trash not emptied. The room was small.
Bien situé, agréable, les chambres sont très petitement les escaliers non sans danger!
Well located hotel. It is necessary to specify a sea view room. The room was too small, impossible to open the suitcases!
Perfect stay for a few days of rest after a very active year. The hotel is ideally located between the tourist center of Carteret and Potinière beach, at the entrance to the channel leading to the port (you can see the boats passing at high tide). On the nature side there are walks on the cape (GR223) followed by a large beach along the dunes. My room was very modern and comfortable with a nice decoration which contrasts a bit with the old exterior appearance of the building. Only the sound insulation is not impeccable: you can hear people if they speak loudly in the corridors but that seems normal to me (it didn't bother me). The restaurant is very good with market products and is also very busy. The team is very available and friendly. Thank you all for this stay!
Absolutely what you want if using the Carteret to Jersey ferry - less than 100metres away.No problems parking, warm welcome, quality staff and food. Room small and ok for overnight stay, but well appointed and organised with en-suite. Quiet.
Have booked night on our return. Should be recommendation enough!
Room too small
For me this is a perfect location and hotel for a night stopover on my back from the south of France to catch the ferry back to the uk.
Smiling and very pleasant staff, attentive to your well-being! Compliant room, very clean and very well equipped
we had been to this hotel before and chose it for its location and restaurant. Unfortunately access to the rooms is via a fairly steep staircase.
Very small room, stuffy and poorly soundproofed. Nevertheless tastefully renovated
Disappointing stay. Before booking I checked that the restaurant was open on a Monday evening as it sounded great. The Logis website states that it is open so i requested a reservation - twice. Never had a reply and when we arrived advised restaurant closed on a Monday.
So essentially, booked this on false pretences. Websites need to provide accurate information
Room and breakfast ok but shower bracket broken and was clearly known as bodged together with tape
A very clean but small room, perfect bedding, correct equipment. Clean and properly equipped bathroom. Sea view through a window. Calm. Convenient parking right in front of the hotel
Room overlooking...parking, and what's more, small. So we were a little disappointed. However, clean room.
It's not a 3 star!
Location and perfect restaurants
The manager of the establishment and his team defraud his customers. Indeed when we arrived at the reception for Check in, we were given the keys: “room 4, 2 floor, tomorrow morning breakfast is served right there until 10 a.m.” which immediately misled us thinking it was understood. At no time was the wording interrogative as is the case everywhere (would you like to have breakfast? For example) The next morning when we went down, we were shown our table without a question. There was only one set up for us. It was 9.30, half of the things in the buffet were missing and there were two mini slices of ham left, a mini slice of cheese, no toast… for example… never having breakfast I let myself be tempted by a yogurt, and a coffee and my partner a mini croissant, and a coffee, we shared an orange and 2 eggs. The person in charge of breakfast never offered to replace what was missing. And just start clearing out. The trap had closed on us. We were going to be charged 10€80 each for a breakfast, which had been presented in such a way that it was obviously included, everything suggesting that. In addition we had no information on our reservation indicating a supplement. Subsequently we had confirmation that it was paid through the director accusing us of wanting to steal it, when it is he and his team who are crooks. A lousy attitude from an establishment manager in which we will obviously never set foot again. And in the future when I see Logis de France, I will avoid this chain.
Ein super tolles, kleines aber äusserst charmantes Hotel!
Overall, I am satisfied with my stay. However, I found the room small and quite noisy (only during busy hours) due to its proximity to the staircase. No noise at night.
Excellent welcome, ideal setting. Room a little small but functional Good restaurant in the hotel, quality seafood
The restaurant was fantastic with a great atmosphere and views.
You can go there with complete confidence, very well located, you eat very well there
Access to small rooms via a staircase that is too steep. The 3 star is clearly for the setting (beautiful view of the harbour). Bad value for money
OK hotel and good food
Very friendly staff, excellent restaurant with a lovely atmosphere, hearty and inexpensive breakfast. Ideally located for leaving (and returning) from the Channel Islands. Beautiful, nice little room in the annex (to be chosen preferably).
Very clean and well decorated room and overall nothing to say except the welcome at breakfast which deserves to put on a smile. What makes this gentleman so sad? Fortunately the chambermaids and the young woman at the reception gave us a much warmer smile. Thank you to them for this joyful smile and their work to ensure that everything goes well for us. There could be a small kettle in the room to make tea or coffee and everything would be really perfect!
Excellent service, attentive and attentive staff. Well located hotel, neat and qualitative interior decoration.
We enjoyed the restaurant at the hotel. Kind staff.
Very small room. Nothing to put things in the bathroom. Mismatched breakfast dishes. Minimalist home.
Beautiful hotel very well located opposite the port of Carteret The room is a little small Very good restaurant Top service All the staff are pleasant Diverse breakfast with local products We will come back
Very small room, shelves near the bed with the corner at head height, you have to be careful No heating in the bathroom For a room at €96 per night, breakfast is not included
Have stayed there before and always good
Very nice location and very good food. One downside, however: a persistent smell of sewage in the room during our stay.

room rather small, restaurant welcoming and professional, hotel not so.
