Restaurant Gai Soleil

We stopped for one night at the Hotel Gai Soleil in Samoëns. The family room was excellent value for money: comfortable, tastefully decorated, and practical. The pool, spa, and garden were very pleasant. The restaurant was good and reasonably priced; the food was good.

The hotel is very well located, in a beautiful setting with authentic decor. The view from our room was magnificent. Our stay was exceptional, and we will gladly return. As for the welcome, I can't find the words to describe the kindness, the attentiveness, the special touches… everything was perfect and exceeded our expectations.

I always prefer family run hotels where possible. From the greeting to the goodbye this establishment was faultless. I will definitely come back for a longer stay with my family.

A very pleasant and comfortable hotel in a high-end mountain style, reflecting the Samoëns resort; excellent welcome and a more than perfect breakfast.

Good value for money, friendly welcome, clean and pleasant rooms. However, the room above the restaurant meant it was impossible to open the window despite the heat in the evening and the inevitably noisy customers, as well as the road noise. Luckily, the double glazing worked well. It was also very noisy in the morning, between doors slamming all over the hotel and the cleaning. Avoid having a room opposite the elevator.

This hotel is fine with nice and adequate facilities. However, for the amount they are charging (even during this holiday period), there were notable things lacking. First, at this price, you should perhaps offer some toiletries (shampoo, conditioner) - there were none. Perhaps an in-room coffee maker would be a nice touch. And the biggest issue in our opinion was CHARGING US for the use of pool towels. This is frankly inexcusable. We are already paying ridiculously high prices, and you find it necessary to charge 2.50 eur each for the use of pool towels?? This is ridiculous and here you are really squeezing people for every last penny. In fact, we were asking if you had these TO BE NICE so that we didn't take the room towels to places they were not supposed to be. But then to be charged...this is not right. You should change this. It's really low class/low budget.

Cannot be faulted. Very welcoming staff in particular, but all aspects of the stay were either good or excellent.

Everything about the hotel was fantastic. The pool, the restaurant, the bar, and above all, the hosts.

Very comfortable family run hotel. Rooms were cosy, warm and clean. The staff were very helpful. And lifts to the skiing were a short walk away. Good facilities too, swimming pool, hot tub, bar and games room.

Cleanliness is limited. The jacuzzi is always taken up by children playing in it. Really a shame because we had really hoped to enjoy it.

Excellent hotel with a very friendly welcome and top-notch staff! Well located near the center of Samoëns. Excellent food and a very generous and varied breakfast.

The spaces are well laid out, the swimming pool and the park are a treat. The only downside is that the bunk beds are a bit small.

Second stay, always so well received, pleasant staff, impeccable cleanliness of the rooms, impeccable restaurant. See you next time!

A pleasant stay in an equally pleasant location. Personally, I would have appreciated locally produced yogurts for breakfast. And a few improvements to the bathroom: more light above the sink and a walk-in shower. Regardless, I recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff. The pool and sunbathing areas in the garden are lovely.

A very welcoming hotel, with clean and comfortable rooms. The breakfast and dinner were very generous and delicious. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The best part was the heated pool and jacuzzi, located in a beautiful park. We enjoyed our stay and recommend it without hesitation.

The hotel is more than perfect, nothing to complain about, the owners were very welcoming, the staff were excellent, the room was luxurious, the breakfasts were huge, and the restaurant was excellent. I've looked everywhere, but I can't find anything to complain about.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It is family run and they wete very helpful. It is really easy to get to the bubble up the mountain and the sauna,steam and hot tub were great after a day on the pistes. Would very much recommend.

Excellent all round

The hotel is lovely, very comfortable, highly recommended. Great spa, we used it almost every night. Toilet leak needing sorted. Need more of a selection for pescatarian. Only one dish i could have on the menu.
Overall very good and Elodie and the staff are great.

Lovely hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location for the town and nearest ski lifts. If you are planning to self cater there is limited equipment.

Pleasant stay - we stayed in one of the newer construction, really nicely done. The staff were nice and welcoming. The breakfast was simple but it was worth the money.

Very welcoming and gave help on bus routes and location of ski hire. Detailed description of facilities including restaurant.
The facilities were very good and we used the restaurant, very accommodating for dinner and we had breakfast each day which included hot and cold buffet.
The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed including a bath which was very nice after a day on the slopes.
The bar area was cosy and family oriented which was very relaxing.
Housekeeping came every day to make the beds, restock toiletries and towels if needed. We even received some chocolates on New Year’s Day.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and will use it if I visit again in the future.

Great location and comfortable room. There's EV charging but nothing to stop other cars blocking the charging bays so we couldn't use the facility. Other chargers nearby though.

Very good cocktails!

Friendly welcome in a well-located hotel. Breakfast where everyone can find something for themselves. However, we regret the size of the room and the absence of a fridge and a welcome bottle of water. On the other hand, the room has a safe. The bathroom is also very small, which does not allow for a door or shower screen, replaced by a curtain.
