Restaurant du Grand Canyon du Verdon

A warm welcome, even if a little late for a half-board stay, our dinner was waiting for us. Simple and effective local cuisine.

The location is magnificent in the Gorges de Verdon, the hotel is old, the room has lots of cobwebs on the ceiling, the staff is very friendly and kind, but it does not correspond to a 3***

The hotel is highly recommended for its magnificent and impressive view of the Verdon, the calm atmosphere, and the kindness of the staff. For the price, the amenities are a bit disappointing: small rooms, unrefined or unimaginative dishes, and a breakfast lacking in variety.

Very nice welcome. The staff is very nice. The establishment offers an incredible view. You feel at home. The food is simple but very good. I loved my stay there.

Great location, great value

A good hotel for us during a walk through the Verdon Gorge. It is a little dated but the rooms are a nice size, it is clean and met all our requirements. And it has a balcony with a magnificent view!

Needs renovation and be more picky about proper room cleaning

The only good thing about this property is that it is located directly on the Canyon, as far as everything else goes it leaves everything to be desired. For dinner there is no menu you have to be satisfied with what they offer you, the food is very disappointing, there is no English language, only French is spoken if you understand well otherwise you make do. The room very very small. In addition to the price of around 270 euros including dinner for one night and breakfast which only had two croissants for some other junk, we spent another €70 on wine and a bitters. I don't recommend it and I don't think I'll ever go back

We spent several nights in this hotel with half board. The welcome was very warm and we immediately felt in a cocoon. The meals were excellent, and the family spirit of the place is pure joy... Thank you to this family for welcoming their guests so well!!

The reception and service in the restaurant are very average (carried out by very elderly people) only the young man presenting the menus is pleasant and professional.

We came for the 2nd time for the exceptional location of the hotel, with a breathtaking view of the Verdon. But not only: the atmosphere is family, since run by a very friendly, very dedicated family, delicate politeness. The cuisine is refined and tasted in a magnificent setting. We will come back to it because we feel good in this hotel at the end of the world and so close at the same time. Change of scenery guaranteed. Thank you for this excellent stay.

The family, the value, the history are the essence of the grand canyon with the quality of the services, I recommend it to you, it is exotic and magnificent for the eyes and the palate.

Rarely seen such welcoming and charming people.

You don't shoot an ambulance!! We wanted to come despite the negative reviews, at least for the location and the view. It was as stated! For the rest, we can be satisfied with everything, as long as there is service, a minimum of cleanliness, organization, etc. Unfortunately, despite the extraordinary potential of the place, neither done nor to be done!! What a pity…

The hotel is located in a very beautiful setting although difficult to access (~15 km of road - well maintained - with cliffs on each side). The reception is very pleasant and the room large, and renovated for the bedroom part (bedding/television/many luggage racks very appreciated). The direct access to nature, the calm and the exceptional view of the Gorges du Verdon from the restaurant are very significant. On the other hand, the meal although prepared and served with great kindness is not for me at the height of a Logis de France, although well presented, except for the artisanal lavender ice cream which was delicious and local. Ditto for the breakfast, which is too spartan and not very suitable given the price and the location - bread and croissants form the base, few other "solid" alternatives and the only fruit offered are golden apples, whereas we are in June in a region where apricots and cherries are grown ...-. However, given the location of the hotel, half board is essential. Contrary to the labels, for me the hotel exceeds the expectations of the "essential hotel" but largely disappoints vis-à-vis the "local restaurant" expectations compared to other Logis and to restaurants in general.

The hotel is obviously splendidly located directly above the Grand Canyon with a sumptuous view of the gorges, a unique and enjoyable location in the morning and in the evening when you take your meals. The bedroom opens directly onto a private terrace which also allows you to admire the gorges. 20 minutes are enough to go down to the river and go on the Martel path or the dizzying and magical one of the Imbut and the Vidal wall so it's a dream spot for hiking, eating well, writing, thinking, having fun. . The welcome and the service are touching, it's a small family that pampers you without overdoing it but with real benevolence and a sincere human relationship that changes hotel chains. In short, a unique hotel and restaurant in the Verdon, not to be missed. I stayed there for six days with great pleasure because the rooms are large and comfortable, well renovated and now modern, with large bay windows overlooking nature and the gorges. Only downside: the breakfast needs to be improved with fresh products (seasonal fruit for example), organic and homemade jams rather than industrial ones. But I'm sure it will come!
