Wonderful old coaching inn centuries old. old rooms seem great. So-called economy rooms are small and of lower standard. Garden and dining rooms are classic and beautiful.

An excellent location in the centre of town with parking. Beautiful ground floor reception a restaurant. The rooms were quite a distance from the main building and up a flight of stairs, but the room was modern and comfortable. Sadly we only stayed one night , on our way to Cherbourg port. The gardens looked very appealing and on a love.y sunny day would be great. Will consider staying again in the spring.

Everything good, but rooms need more free electrical socks to plug in modern necessities - phones, tablets, 2 others in my case!

A very nice hotel with a well-kept garden where it must be very pleasant to have a coffee on sunny days. Unfortunately, we didn't really take advantage of the hotel due to last-minute ferry schedule changes. We had to leave in the middle of the night. And that was a shame.

Lovely hotel would definately stay there again

Very nice, stylish hotel. Good French breakfast. The family room with two large double beds was very dark, and the bathroom was far too small for four people and in poor condition. But it was okay for one night.

What a joy that this kind of place still exists. The hotel and restaurant are truly up to scratch, with service that is as dignified and professional as ever. The restaurant's decor is a museum in itself, which doesn't take away from anything!

Loved our stay in Avranches. Staff were friendly and efficient . Our room was basic but spotless and had good shower. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Easy walk to centre ville.

Restaurant is superb

The hotel is located in a historic building. The room is very spacious, with two double beds, two desks, and four chairs. The bathroom is large and fully equipped with everything you need (linens, hairdryer, soap, and shampoo).

La Croix d’Or is a real gem and we loved everything during our stay. The beautiful gardens, the outdoor terrace and sufficient (free) parking The staff was wonderful and the dinner was exquisitely good!
We will definitely go back to stay there

The tap water tastes strange and the accessibility of the rooms with big suitcases is bad. The wifi connection in room 31 was also very instable.

A very central and pleasant hotel with a pretty garden and ample, convenient parking. Access to the first floor is difficult due to stairs (no elevator), and the pillows are too soft. Otherwise, it was comfortable and highly recommended.

Without a doubt the best hotel in the country

TB in every way. We had already stayed there and were very happy, which is why we repeated the experience! We preferred the large, bright room in the pavilion to the one we had on the ground floor overlooking the garden, which was of course pleasant and without stairs, but smaller and darker + a passageway. Thank you again for this lovely short stay with you.

The staff were very courteous. Hotel, including the garden, had enormous character. The 34.50 EUR dinner menu was very good value and the dishes were generally excellent.

Excellent restaurant. Room good size. Very quirky hotel our room was off corridor & kitchen was opposite but it was quiet after about 11.15. Good to have parking which was free & didn’t need to be reserved.

Visit this hotel several times a year, it’s always exceptional, from the welcome to the room and the restaraunt.
The staff are the best of the best, always welcoming and take time for a chat, they always accommodate my family and I with the upmost of care and service.

Not really the hotels fault about the thoughtless guest in the room above walking about all night like a load of elephants. Would have been nice to eat at the hotel, unfortunately the cost was beyond our budget, a lower cost bar snack menu would have been great.

Pleasant stopover in this former 17th century coaching inn

We are very satisfied with our stay (4 days/5 nights) at the Hotel de la Croix d'Or in AVRANCHES. The setting is pleasant, our room overlooked a flower garden. The restaurant's cuisine is delicious and varied, and the staff very friendly. A fan helped to ventilate the room, but it's a shame that a small refrigerator for cold drinks could not be installed.

Lots of character, lovely setting & good facilities. Well located for exploring the town on foot. We stay here twice a year en route to Cherbourg and are never disappointed

Enjoyed our stay very much. It’s quiet and restful and the restaurant is lovely. The jardin des plantes is a stone’s throw away with an amazing view of Mont St Michel.

Exceptional restaurant, which makes it an unmissable stopover evening. Top service and menu that largely deserves the distinction of distinguished table. The rooms are well heated, which is very rare because we are freezing in 98% of hotels. I am a little disappointed that I was assigned a room with 3 small beds without giving me a choice. But it remains a very nice address with competent and attentive staff.

Knowing the reputation of LogisHotels establishments, the search for proximity to a seminar led me to the Hôtel-Restaurant de la Croix d'Or. I did not use the Wifi, the 4/5g reception being largely sufficient. In the room, I was perfectly happy with the decoration which remains an individual appreciation. Personally I would have imagined a height of curtains adapted to the immediate environment. A magnificent garden allows you to relax there in the beautiful days and to go from the rooms to the restaurant. The establishment and those who make it live sincerely deserve my appreciation.

Superior room with generally disappointing services, here are some points: - Lots of mold in the bathroom - Very noisy bathroom ventilation - Poor overall soundproofing - Sloping mattress - Poor quality television

We have stayed in this hotel countless times. It is our favourite hotel and we never visit France without staying here. Monsieur Bertheaume is the perfect host and the hotel is run to the highest standard with excellent accommodation and a superb restaurant. The dining room is beautiful and the food exquisite. It has a lovely garden and is an oasis of peacefulness and calm in a busy town.

The room below everything, very old France, tiny bathroom with dirt stains. Given the dilapidated state of the bathroom. Toilet very uncomfortable and poorly attached. Bath water did not drain normally. As for dinner, very pleasant service by a young local lady, excellent appetizer, starter and main course not at all fine, but impeccable cheese platter. Breakfast correct.

We spent a lovely night in this hotel.Very convenient to walk into the town. Our room was spacious, quiet, clean and comfortable. Great meal in the evening and breakfast good. Parking was ideal for us and pleasant garden to relax in. Wish we could have stayed longer.

our spacious room overlooked the small garden which was very flowery our son's room a little problem taking a shower the shower head was leaking he reported it and no one came it was not great for taking a shower

Accommodation and welcome: very good! Reception and breakfast staff: very good Restaurant: the meal and the quality of the products are excellent! Well done but the service is very disappointing: is it because I was alone and therefore less important than the other tables? At least that's what I felt. For example: they serve me the starter, then the main course. They clear it away and bring me the main course again! I say that I've already had it... I wait a good quarter of an hour before I take the initiative to ask for the dessert menu since it's not offered to me. I order a dessert which is brought to me but without cutlery... I wait another 10 minutes thinking that they'll bring me the cutlery anyway... no! So I manage to call out to a waiter to ask for them... I tell the waiter and then when it's time to pay about my dissatisfaction with the service... "we're sorry" they tell me but not a commercial gesture: not even the free coffee! Nothing. So I didn't repeat the restaurant experience in the evening. Once was enough for me. A scalded cat fears cold water!

All staff at La Croix d'Or are friendly and very helpful including the kitchen team who made great efforts to cater for a difficult dietary requirement. This is one of the main reasons we have visited the hotel on 3 occasions now.

a somewhat minimalist room, no mini-bar, the toilet remains in a very small room with a sloping/attic ceiling, a 180cm person would struggle to stand up. Shower extractor dirty with damp dust.

Everything was perfect and a very lovely place - only drawback was that the fish served in the evening was obvious not fresh.

A very beautiful hotel, elegant and lively, at the same time, with, for example, in the dining room, an atmosphere that is both peaceful and familiar - conversations everywhere, but discreet - nothing thunderous or vulgar. This finesse seems thought out. This house favors it. We particularly admired the people in charge of serving dinner. We stayed too short a time to have any further observations. We can't say it in the following questionnaire, but our trip had a family reason (which was not a marriage!). We checked “Birthday” by default. We need to refine the questionnaire!

Hotel with character, warm and charming, full of memories of times gone by where we feel good. The menus are copiously elaborate and good, as is the wine list which is impressive! The room set back from the main building in the backyard is comfortable and relatively complete. All-you-can-eat and copious breakfast, sweet and savory, perhaps missing citrus press, fresh fruit sadie and soft-boiled eggs (can be on request!). Very good experience…
