Sehr schönes kleines Hotel. Saubere Zimmer, kreative Küche zu fairen Preisen, nettes Personal. Wir haben hier einen Zwischenstopp auf dem Weg in die Bretagne eingelegt. Kann ich sehr empfehlen!

Très joli hôtel pour une étape où un week-end. Accueil chaleureux et personnel. Notre chambre était neuve, calme ,belle vue sur jardin et literie de qualité.
Petit déjeuner avec produits de qualité à un prix très raisonnable.
Nous recommandons cet hôtel vivement !

Personnel charmant et attentionné, propreté, silence, l'Auberge est dans un village dynamique avec vue sur une très belle abbaye. La table est une divine surprise, cuisine imaginative, joliment présentée que nous avons adorée. Une pépite au creux du Perche avec un excellent rapport qualité prix. nous re commandons les yeux fermés

We are very satisfied with the welcome, the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms, as well as the meals (lunch and breakfast). We appreciated the garden for its freshness during this weekend of very high temperatures. We recommend this establishment.

This is a beautiful, family-run hotel which I recommend without hesitation. The surrounding countryside is impressive and the hotel is on the grounds of an impressive abbey with an interesting historical past. Dinner was excellent. There is no staff at the hotel until 18.00 and i arrived at 15.00. However, I was able to check in by phone from outside the hotel.

With high temperatures an air conditioner would be nice. Otherwise good service, clean rooms, good food and friendly people

Très bel Hôtel dans un beau village du Perche. Calme, beaux bâtiment historiques.

The Auberge was really lovely and our dog was made to be very welcome.The food was delicious and great wine! We really only had an issue with our arrival when we couldn’t initially get in as there was no-one on reception. Admittedly we were half an hour early but it’s quite hard to estimate the arrival time when you’re driving. We eventually got through on the phone number by the front door and let ourselves in where our bedroom keys were left out for us.
We stayed at the hotel as an overnight stopover on our journey and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food! Would definitely recommend but may be helpful to put other language versions of the entry instructions along with the French.

This is a delightful hotel with a a lot of historic character. The reception was very welcoming and the cuisine imaginative and exciting. We particularly appreciated the the tranquil garden setting in the lee of the ancient abbey.

Ein magischer Ort, wir hatten uns das Hotel Auberge l'Abbaye in Thiron Gardais jeweils als Zwischenübernachtung in die Bretagne und auch für die Rückreise ausgewählt und waren begeistert. Unser Zimmer mit Ausblick zum Garten und auf die Abtei war sehr schön und ruhig. Zur Abtei sind es nur ein paar Schritte, hier kann man im weitläufigen Garten spazieren gehen was für unseren Hund super war. Der Auberge l'Abbaye ist ein wahres Kleinod und wir werden sicher wiederkommen. Begleitend zu einem hervorragenden Diner konnten wir dem wunderschönen Live Gesang mit Klavierbegleitung vor der Bar von gegenüber lauschen. Zu den Klängen von "Let it Be" sind wir bei geöffneten Fenstern glücklich und zufrieden eingeschlafen. Was for ein Erlebnis.

A very nice hotel with comfortable rooms and a nice garden overlooking the abbey. We chose to stay because it seemed to combine comfortable rooms with interesting food and was open the day we were in the area unlike many other places. The food was interesting but not entirely satisfying: too much concerned with the conceptual side of dining. The chicken dish with a tasty broth with chicken pieces under a very nice flavoured potato mash with a bit of crispy skin on top was too much like baby food for me: I'd prefer my chicken in larger pieces and with some vegetables. There was some vegetable with the fish but roasted fennel and aubergine were flavours that rather overwhelmed it. Pate en croute was very good and chocolate desert fine if far from the best I've experienced! So if we return it will be for convenience rather than gastronomy (though if the menu looks more appealing we may give the (clearly talented) chef another chance!

Nice stay for one night. Very welcoming staff who worked out which guests we were, so we only needed to confirm the correct name to get keys. Dinner really tasty so glad we arrived in time for that.

The 'Team' at the Auberge de l'Abbaye greeted two tired and hungry motorcyclists with a warm welcome. Were very accommodating with secure parking for the bikes. Hotel was spotless and the Food on offer Very Good ! Full Marks.

Our room was very hot, overlooking the road, No air conditioning , too hot to sleep without windows open and disturbance from traffic all night and very early bin collection at 5.am. Hence very little sleep. Would not recommend unless given a room with garden view at the back.
Restaurant was closed Sunday and it would have been helpful if it said so on the website as little else available in the surroundings. Breakfast was excellent

Hotel not open during day. Upon arrival door is opened and you get to get your key with an access code to get to your room. Only around 19.00 restaurant/bar open.

Chose this hotel from the LOGIS de France Guidebook. Arrived late afternoon and used the hotel car park at the back off the one-way street. Unfortunately the door into the hotel was locked so had to carry our bags 200 metres all the way back up the street to the front door.
Restaurant very expensive and not much choice, waiter at table spoke very fast and would not slow down when I asked him to so it was almost impossible to understand his strange French dialect.
Breakfast was very good and the man at checkout was very helpful to unlock the back door so I didn't have to carry our bags 200 metres again....

Overall successful stopover.
