Very nice exterior access. The superior room was lovely, but the bathroom was a bit basic for a 4-star hotel and noisy (you can hear people walking on the floor above). A shame.

An absolutely beautiful hotel! Spacious, comfortable, relaxed, and totally unique. We loved our stay here. The room was beautifully decorated and simply stunning to stay in. The hotel property is equally stunning, and the restaurant was a true highlight. Breakfast was also wonderfully relaxing and delicious. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. We would happily return to Ferme de la Rançonnière if we have the chance.

You probably need to enjoy staying in old, historic properties to fully appreciate this hotel, and unfortunately, that is not really our style. Our room had stone floors and walls and small windows, like most rooms in the hotel, which made it feel cold and dark. There was also a musty, old smell in the room and in the furniture, so we did not feel comfortable storing our clothes there. Although the beds themselves were comfortable, the duvets were extremely heavy.
On the other side we appreciated friendly and helpful staff, a quiet and peaceful location, daily cleaning, comfortable beds, a well-maintained garden, and a delicious breakfast.

We had booked a superior room and were assigned room No. 100 in the main building. The bedroom can still be called authentic, but the bathroom is really dated, with a shower cubicle that is barely big enough; if you are pregnant or plus-sized, you won't fit in it. There was a musty smell in the cabinets and a terrible sewage smell after showering, forcing us to open all the windows. In terms of price-quality ratio, this room definitely does not belong in the superior category. The only plus points are the friendly staff and the extensive breakfast.

I highly recommend it and would gladly repeat the experience 😉! The welcome, service, and accommodation are all there for a fantastic time in a remarkable architectural setting!

Very good in all respects except one. Your WiFi is awful. We had some important issues to resolve during the stay that we struggled to achieve due to difficult logging in and intermittent network connectivity.

Anne at reception was insistently rude. There was no flexibility, I had to change rooms and the checking and checkout times strict policy was a nightmare. No attempt to make it easier was made. The staff at reception was very unwelcoming in general, but it was to everyone not personal. The restaurant staff and cleaning staff on the contrary were always helpful and accommodating.
The lack of ventilation, aircon and smell in the toilts made the rooms unpleasant. With over 30C degrees and a duvet cover without option to wear it it change, it was not a pleasant stay

A beautiful setting with impeccable service, very clean and well-equipped. The breakfast was quite varied with good quality products. The staff were attentive, always helpful and pleasant.

Ferme de la Rançonnière was without a doubt our absolute favourite hotel of our trip around Normandy.

From the moment we arrived, we absolutely loved it. The hotel itself is beautiful and full of character, our rooms were fabulous, and the staff were some of the loveliest we encountered throughout our whole trip. Nothing felt like too much trouble and we genuinely felt so well looked after during our stay.

It’s such a special place, with so much charm and a wonderful atmosphere. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

The hotel and its rooms are beautifully presented with lovely furnishings that suit the aged setting. The breakfasts were an excellent choice and the courtyard setting was great. The staff were fantastic, particularly Anna, who rearranged our room booking to accommodate my wife who has mobility issues. We had a great time staying there.

We have very mixed feelings about our stay at La Ferme de la Ranconnière. As a four-star hotel, we expected a level of service befitting its rating. While the setting is undeniably beautiful, we were truly disappointed by the staff's obvious lack of professionalism. Many of the young employees seemed to lack a grasp of the basics of their jobs: "Don't just pounce" on the customer could well be the motto of this hotel… Apparently, there's a serious management problem! Our single meal in the restaurant was also disappointing, both in terms of service and the food itself. We expected much better, given the establishment's self-promotion and the emphasis it places on its four-star rating on its website. In the end, the bill was exorbitant, or at the very least, completely disproportionate to the level of service provided.

Found Ferme de la Raconnaire, one of the best hotels have stayed in, could not have complained about anything which was proffered or provided. Centrally located for what our trip was about, easy location and would recommend this to even the most fastidious traveler, would be surprised if anyone could find fault, unless of course they were never pleased about anything. We upgraded on arrival and this was done in a highly professional manner which did not inconvenience us in any way, taken to the room to ensure we would be happy with our selection, after four days it certainly was a great choice.

This short break was booked specially to bring to a close our travels to La Belle France. Over 45 yrs of many independent holidays with friends, family and as a couple across France, we wanted to re visit the Normandy Beaches, as closure…..due to our age.
Staying at Ferme de la Raconniere was just perfect….our idea of a wonderful hotel, in a delightful position and even more delightful staff.
Our memories will give us much happiness.

We normally stay at Logis Hotels. This step up to a Demeures was more than we would do again because of the cost.

Beautiful property away from the hustle and bustle of the larger towns. Very relaxing with easy access to D-Day beaches and other sights. Highly recommend.

Nothing to complain about

The hotel and grounds are lovely and we knew the location was remote prior to making reservations. Improvements should be made to your staffing. We had an enjoyable experience when checking into the hotel. However, your staffing in the restaurant and bar was lacking. If reservations for dining are required every night, then you should advise customers at check in. We had reservations for Sunday night as you notified us before arrival that the weekends were busy, but never mentioned the weekdays. After a day of sightseeing on Monday, we were told that the kitchen was closed even though there were people eating and ordering in the dining room. The bar was open, but we were told that nothing from the bar menu could be ordered. Earlier that day, the front desk clerk was unwilling to help with calling a taxi. He handed us a list of taxi cab numbers which weren't correct. Thankfully a nice woman came in 30 minutes later and was happy to call a cab for us. I would have liked to have given you a better review but your staffing needs improvement.

The entire building is magnificent, the site very peaceful with lots of charm and character. We had a great time.

Exceeded expectations. Everything was right, reception started it well, the character of the property, the excellent food and of course its location all made it a very memorable stay.

Pleasant setting in an old farmhouse, tasteful decoration in the common areas but our room was a bit narrow without air conditioning and without a fridge. The bathroom and toilets were poorly laid out and without a ventilation system, so meh. The restaurant food was good but the service was too fast between courses, reminiscent of a holiday club "shame" and on our arrival we felt a disagreement between the reception team and the restaurant team, which made us feel uncomfortable.

We rediscovered the Norman and bucolic spirit that we had found 26 years ago to celebrate our wedding, the farm of the rançonniere has retained all its charm. Very comfortable room, good breakfast, dinner at the hotel restaurant excellent.

Location is not very good, the room style and decor are weird and the breakfast is not bad but bellow average.

Wonderful place to stay

We had a wonderful stay at your hotel. Staff are so friendly and helpful and the accommodation was very cosy, warm and comfortable. The restaurant was fabulous which served delicious food. Honestly the best risotto I have ever eaten! We only had very minor notes- no fridge in the room. We like to get a few bits like milk when staying at a hotel as there is never enough milk given in the room. Housekeeping need to make sure there are enough towels for everyone staying in the room. Other than that our stay was superb!

Hotel located in an exceptional location. We were very well received, the staff is very attentive and very professional. The restaurant server even asked the chef to prepare a vegetarian dish for our little girl who was accompanying us.

We loved this hotel and room. All the staff were excellent and cared for our experience while staying. The only downside was the restaurant for dinner. We were underwhelmed with the menu options. As Americans I guess we are accustomed to more choices. The quality of our meal was average. The breakfast was fantastic. The fresh squeezed oj was a morning delight. Great coffee selection, quality and convenience. My favorite was the fresh daily plain yogurt. Best I’ve had anywhere.

We like to stop at the Ferme de la Rançonnière quite regularly and have always been very satisfied. A little disappointed by our last stop on October 6. Disappointing classic room, small, (big difference with the superior) as well as the bathroom. Little space for kits and toiletries. Instructions to find for the shower, faulty TV remote control, restaurant closed on Sunday evening when it was specified as open when I booked on the logis website. The site is still as remarkable for its charm and tranquility. Breakfast is a good time: large choice of fresh products, pretty room, friendly and attentive staff.

Excellent hôtel. The surrounding area is very beautiful, rural but easily drivable to Caen, Arromanches etc. The rooms are a good size with very comfortable beds, food delicious. Breakfast room is a lovely bright room with a good choice of either continental or hot food. There is plenty parking on site.
We had a fab stay there. Thanks to all the staff who made us feel very welcomed. Highly recommended.
