We have stayed here many times and we can honestly say it just gets better every time Oliver and Anne make us so welcome both the hotel and all the staff make us feel so welcome.
A delightful hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant was excellent and breakfast also very good and plentiful. The room we stayed in had most of the amenities you'd expect but lacked sufficient wardrobe space. It was also a little tired. Being on the main road the entrance was a little difficult.
We are regular visitors to Les Hauts de Montreuil and we are never disappointed. From our arrival we are greeted in a most professional and friendly manner and are escorted to our rooms. On this occasion we stayed two nights and ate in the restaurant on the second evening. the food was sensational (again!). Absolutely brilliant, we will be back.

The hotel is very good, the welcome very friendly. Spotlessly clean and excellent breakfast. The location is very pretty. Only drawback: the room facing the street was a bit noisy with cars driving over the cobblestones.
The staff were incredibly attentive, welcoming, and friendly! The room was comfortable and clean! Being on the ground floor, I used a cane, and it was extremely convenient! The breakfast was excellent, varied, fresh, and plentiful. The private parking with remote control was secure and convenient, located behind the hotel! Easy access. We brought our dog, who loved the king-size bed! Go without hesitation! Warm welcome. I will definitely be back!
This was our second visit to Les Hauts de Montreuil. Again we were impressed by all aspects of our stay. The food in the restaurant was especially good.

A very pleasant two-night stay in a beautiful, spotless, and spacious room with a very comfortable bed. Excellent amenities in the room (kettle, refrigerator, modern thermostat) and very polite staff. Located right next to the main square, very convenient. We didn't use the lounges and bar, but they looked very inviting.

Our second visit to this hotel, and it was just as good as we remembered. The wel ome was warm and friendly, all requests for the 2 rooms were met ( as we were traveling with my mother)
Every member of the team was extremely friendly and helpful.
The room.was very clean and well-equipped and the bed was very comfortable.
The evening meal was so delicious we ate there both nights. We will definitely stay again.

We love staying at this hotel. The staff are friendly and very helpful. English is spoken by most of the staff and they are very patient with our French encouraging us to have a go which is great. I was able to secure a room on the ground floor due to my mobility issues and it was perfect. We also like being able to use a secure car park - it would be good it there was a discounted rate if you use it over a few days.
The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. The small fridge, kettle and drink making facilities are very welcome and topped up daily or you can request extras at the reception area. The breakfast buffet is super. Hot and cold choices that include very tasty options. It is well worth the extra cost. The Le Patio restaurant is a delight. Good quality seasonal food cooked with skill. We recommend booking a dinner slot as they are very busy.
We are planning our return visit next year and maybe even two visits as it's proximity to the tunnel makes it an easy get away.

Before my stay, the hotel staff provided me with excellent information on how to access the private parking. The welcome and accommodation were perfect in every way. The breakfast buffet was very generous, served in a rather unique setting. The food was truly refined and delicious (ah, the shrimp mille-feuille!). The location was quiet, even though it's in the city center, and very close to the Tourist Office (a few houses down the street) and the main tourist attractions of Montreuil (the citadel, the ramparts, the Saint-Saulve Abbey), as well as the many walks and hikes available.

This was a gem that we fell upon. The accommodation is perfect with good sized room and walk in shower. The hotel offers parking for €10 that is secure. The restaurant Le Patio is a must. The food delicious. Highly recommend this lovely hotel.

I haven’t stayed here for a while. The hotel has undergone extensive refurbishment, very comfortable with improved facilities and external courtyards. Secure parking is available in the street behind the hotel.

Classic country inn dating in part back to 1542. Rooms vary, some are basic and you must climb up old and narrow stairs. Some rooms on the ground floor are much better: larger, better decorated, much better bathroom.
Very welcoming, efficient and friendly team. We come regularly with friends or family and totally recommend it in every way.

Beautiful and characterful main building, sympathetically updated and decorated. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our bedroom was in a more modern annex, super clean and comfortable. Everything was excellent with just the one point was that we found the room very cold & we would have liked to be able to dry towels. However, it wasn't worth mentioning as we still enjoyed our brief stay with you. We accept that heating shouldn't be necessary in mid September! The staff were fantastic. Thank you.

Lovely stay at Hotel Montreuil. Clean, comfortable room with a spacious bathroom and great shower. Warm, friendly welcome. The restaurant is a must — delicious food, great value, and very cosy. Dogs are welcome in both rooms and restaurant. Breakfast buffet (in the beautiful building next door) is excellent for the price. Perfect location — tip: take the back exit and the small steps up for a stunning view!

A great quality Logis to stay in. Friendly helpful staff, modern comfortable rooms and a fantastic restaurant. Worth booking the parking, especially if you are staying on a Friday night (due to the Saturday market).

As you mentionned, for Friday night, we do recommend booking a place in our car park, as on Saturday morning,
it can be tricky to find a place in town with the market.

Good hotel, good parking, excellent restaurant and staff.... our problem was room 9 at the front which was next to the road and very noisy during the night limiting sleep.
Will stay again but not at front of the hotel.
Also allowing dogs in the redtaurant is unhygenic and certainly puts me off.

It was our second stay here. The food is fantastic. Sadly our room was not good on this visit; it was at the front of the building and very noisy. We only stayed one night so it wasn't disastrous, but we would have been sadly lacking in sleep if we stayed longer.

As professionals in the industry, we both know that the two windows in the room we occupied were defective (they didn't close completely). We didn't try to force the mechanism, to avoid any damage. However, the road in front of the hotel is cobbled: every vehicle passing is perfectly audible, and when it's a heavier vehicle, it's a guaranteed wake-up call... Not ideal for a good night's sleep. Twenty minutes after our arrival, we wanted to reserve a table at the hotel restaurant. Unfortunately, we were told it was full. This can happen, of course. But when I asked if adding a small table for two could be considered, I was kindly told that it wasn't possible and that the staff were "already too busy." A regrettable response to give to independents... We smiled kindly. Finally, we found what we were looking for a little further on, at the Cocquempot restaurant, whose cuisine was remarkable. We are convinced that the establishment is capable of offering a much better quality of service and probably does. The infrastructure is really very nice, but the room in question should definitely be avoided (perhaps the one downstairs as well if the windows have the same defect). Sorry for this review, but your staff handles these windows every day for ventilation and should have noticed and reported this problem in good time. As for the restaurant reservation, so appreciated on your site, a little more flexibility—in space, time, and communication—would be welcome.

One of my favorite places, both for the welcome, the quality of the inventive cuisine, full of flavors but also for the spacious and quiet rooms... Let's not forget the top-notch breakfast!

A lovely hotel in an ancient building which has been beautifully restored. Our room was very comfortable.
My room was at the front of the hotel close to the road and therefore noisy due to the constant traffic.
I use this hotel because it has a fabulous restaurant unfortunately this time the menu was limited and the food quality average.
My main issue though is the portion which are normally small were tiny this time and when I purchased wine by the glass the volume of wine was again tiny and I believe not a legal measure. I didn’t want to complain but eat elsewhere the second night of my stay.
The room was a bit dated but very clean and well-maintained. The price was in line with the experience; excellent value for money. The breakfast was fabulous and will definitely bring us back.

Haven't stayed here for a few years, but the rooms are now modern with excellent bathrooms. Staff all friendly and helpful- checking in and out was easy, even for those of us whose use of the French language is less than fluent. We didn't eat in the hotel, but heard good reports about breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. Lovely outside terrace where we enjoyed drinks with friends. Good central location, a short walk from all the town's attractions.
Room 11 very sloppy ceiling. Easy to bang your head getting in and out of bed.

we arrived for an overnight stay before returning to UK. We were greeted warmly. The room was well-appointed and there was plenty of secure parking. Food at the hotel restaurant was first rate, probably the best we'd had in the ten days we were in France. Breakfast next morning was equally good. No complaints at all and would recommend to others without hesitation

We first stayed at this hotel over 30 years and have returned many times since, the last being in 2022. Over the years, this hotel has been transformed. Firstly, car parking in the area is at a premium, it is therefore a huge improvement that electronic gates are fitted to the car park with access only available using a key fob issued by reception - brilliant! Wonderful shower room with a perfect non-slip shower tray. Just one niggle though. Having upgraded from silly little square pieces of loo tissue used throughout Logis Hotels, it would improve the situation further if a loo roll holder was fitted therefore not having to reach up to a shelf for the roll!!! The bedroom was perfect in size and very comfortable, but really could do with a full length wall mirror rather than having to rely on the mirror in the bathroom. Great work station but no spare plug sockets!
We only had one evening meal in the restaurant as it was closed one night of our stay which is advised well in advance. The restaurant is WOW!!!
Service was brisk and personable. Food, well its up there at the very top with many famous restaurants we have visited. Absolutely amazing food, beautifully presented.
Overall a very good stay, unfortunately the restaurant was closed as we stayed on a Thursday.

Have stayed here before and the location is great for a rest after the Channel crossing and prepare yourself for your onward journey the next day. The only pity is that the resturant is not open on Thursday evenings - however, there are several decent restaurants at an easy walk from the hotel.

On arrival shown room 4 , told them very unhappy
room very very small . They did offer to show us a more expensive alternative than the standard room 4, after discussion we decided it was likely better to stay with room on ground floor , because the whole place is like rabbit warren . Room 4 shower room even smaller , toilet separate near entrance, so small , when door closed your knees touched the door ,the wardrobe next to it was bigger ! Defy any average person could use the toilet with door closed
What we didn’t notice until the next day is there is an electric car charging point just outside our door , obviously then we had noise of people shouting instructions to driver/s reversing their car to charge up, courtyard is very small for vehicles!
Consequently when we opened our room door a car was parked directly outside,with a large cable plugged in obstructing our walk way !
It’s a complete accident waiting to happen , together with a fire hazard!
We booked in restaurant, starters dreadful my
terrine tasteless , wife’s trout tasted just of salt !
Main course lamb and duck were acceptable,
desserts chocolate praline was good , but the
pink rhubarb was completely slop , rested on top
of a meringue. There was little ambiance in the restaurant you could be at any large corporate
diner ! Where other establishments make the evening an occasion, with ambience, hospitality,
this failed completely. We cancelled the next evening reservation.
After travelling in all parts France for many , many
years this establishment just came across as pretentious . A tourist trap , take your money
offer little in return !

We always aim to make our clients stays as enjoyable, and thus we are sorry to learn that your experience in our hotel
did not meet your expectations.
Before anything, there seems to be a misunderstanding, when we asked you if you wanted to switch room for another one
(I even asked you myself, I was the gentleman who asked you while you were in our garden), we did not intend of changing the cost
of your stay. That being said, we are sorry that you felt that the room you occupied was not up to your standards.
Regarding the car outside, charging at our station, if it was bothering you, why not ask us to tell the owner to move the car ?
We are always happy to help during our client's stay, so do not hesitate to contact us at the reception.
Regarding the station itself, it is not a fire hazard and is quite safe, you don't have to worry about it catching on fire.
For the restaurant, we are sorry that you did not enjoy our meals. And while the ambiance might have been calm, as it is on
Sundays usually, we always aim to have a comfortable and relaxing ambiance, sometimes playful even !
Finally, while we are truly sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us, we do not like being compared as a 'tourist trap'.
You can tell by many of other comments, post, and shared experiences online that we have a lot of returning customers that
are very happy with their stays and are happy to come back !
In conclusion, while your experience with us did not meet your expectations, we would have been more than happy to help with
some of your concerns, and we are sorry to learn about some of them now. And as you can tell by many other shared experiences
online, we do not aim to be a trap, but rather aim to offer the best quality of service for everyone.

The room booked was not the room provided, we booked a superior double and were given a family room despite the hotel stating it was a superior room. The bathroom was a nice standard the remainder of the room was less than acceptable but 'due to our late arrival' there were no other rooms available.
The lights and. Sockets beside the bed did not work.
There was an expectation that we would be able to have a table for dinner but with hindsight this may have been our oversight so if you want dinner book a table.
Really disappointed as the other reviews read really well.
The staff on the day of departure were much better than those on arrival.

First of all, we are sorry that your stay with us did not meet your expectations.
Regarding the room, the room you occupied was a superior double room, which is able to accomodate 2 more people in case it is
asked. Hence, the sofa bed in the room. That being said, following your departure, we decided that this room shall not be a
superior room anymore. We took your critics into consideration and now the room has its own category.
For the lights and sockets, we did try them and they seemed to work just fine. We think the confusion comes from the fact that
they were two-way switches.
Regarding the restaurant, we did mention in our confirmation that our restaurant was fully booked for this date the day that you
booked.
We have a lot of demands, and unfortunately, limited places.
To make our clients stays as enjoyable as possible is our top priority and we are sorry that you did not fully enjoy your stay with us.

Excellent staff and food in a good location. Shame that the garden wasn't accessible due to building work , but when that is finished, it will make a great space. Lovely buildings and grounds. Nice bedroom , fantastic bathroom, although they was no toilet roll holder. Stairs up very steep, almost dangerous. Breakfast rather chaotic and unorganised. Will come again

Delightful small hotel in heart of historic fortified town. Warm welcome; quiet, comfortable rooms; excellent restaurant. Our third visit and definitely not our last. Brought friends with us this time and have recommended others. Nobody has been disappointed!
