A real oasis for those using Le Shuttle which is about an hour away. The Patio restaurant is superb.

We love staying at this hotel. The staff are friendly and very helpful. English is spoken by most of the staff and they are very patient with our French encouraging us to have a go which is great. I was able to secure a room on the ground floor due to my mobility issues and it was perfect. We also like being able to use a secure car park - it would be good it there was a discounted rate if you use it over a few days.
The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. The small fridge, kettle and drink making facilities are very welcome and topped up daily or you can request extras at the reception area. The breakfast buffet is super. Hot and cold choices that include very tasty options. It is well worth the extra cost. The Le Patio restaurant is a delight. Good quality seasonal food cooked with skill. We recommend booking a dinner slot as they are very busy.
We are planning our return visit next year and maybe even two visits as it's proximity to the tunnel makes it an easy get away.

Before my stay, the hotel staff provided me with excellent information on how to access the private parking. The welcome and accommodation were perfect in every way. The breakfast buffet was very generous, served in a rather unique setting. The food was truly refined and delicious (ah, the shrimp mille-feuille!). The location was quiet, even though it's in the city center, and very close to the Tourist Office (a few houses down the street) and the main tourist attractions of Montreuil (the citadel, the ramparts, the Saint-Saulve Abbey), as well as the many walks and hikes available.

This was a gem that we fell upon. The accommodation is perfect with good sized room and walk in shower. The hotel offers parking for €10 that is secure. The restaurant Le Patio is a must. The food delicious. Highly recommend this lovely hotel.

I haven’t stayed here for a while. The hotel has undergone extensive refurbishment, very comfortable with improved facilities and external courtyards. Secure parking is available in the street behind the hotel.

I had an exceedingly pleasant stay at the hotel, and would be extremely pleased to visit again! The chap on reception on the evening of Sunday 26/10/25 was very very friendly and helpful, and made me feel completely at ease, which I really appreciated.

Classic country inn dating in part back to 1542. Rooms vary, some are basic and you must climb up old and narrow stairs. Some rooms on the ground floor are much better: larger, better decorated, much better bathroom.

An explanation when booking of how to access the parking would have helped - fine on our return as we knew but quite stressful on our first visit as it’s a busy road in the centre of town! Perhaps a big sign to indicate you turn in and stop in front of reception to be let through?

Beautiful and characterful main building, sympathetically updated and decorated. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our bedroom was in a more modern annex, super clean and comfortable. The bathroom, though snug, was absolutely fine and had an excellent shower. The range and quality of breakfast items was exceptional. We thorougly enjoyed our stay.

Our second stay definitely not our last. The hotel, staff, and food are all amazing.

Everything was excellent with just the one point was that we found the room very cold & we would have liked to be able to dry towels. However, it wasn't worth mentioning as we still enjoyed our brief stay with you. We accept that heating shouldn't be necessary in mid September! The staff were fantastic. Thank you.

Lovely stay at Hotel Montreuil. Clean, comfortable room with a spacious bathroom and great shower. Warm, friendly welcome. The restaurant is a must — delicious food, great value, and very cosy. Dogs are welcome in both rooms and restaurant. Breakfast buffet (in the beautiful building next door) is excellent for the price. Perfect location — tip: take the back exit and the small steps up for a stunning view!

A great quality Logis to stay in. Friendly helpful staff, modern comfortable rooms and a fantastic restaurant. Worth booking the parking, especially if you are staying on a Friday night (due to the Saturday market).

Good hotel, good parking, excellent restaurant and staff.... our problem was room 9 at the front which was next to the road and very noisy during the night limiting sleep.

Also allowing dogs in the redtaurant is unhygenic and certainly puts me off.

It was our second stay here. The food is fantastic. Sadly our room was not good on this visit; it was at the front of the building and very noisy. We only stayed one night so it wasn't disastrous, but we would have been sadly lacking in sleep if we stayed longer.

Our first time and it won't be our last. We had a nice room, the parking was very secure (after we'd been shown how it worked!) and the food was fabulous. The people were all very welcoming and helpful.

As professionals in the industry, we both know that the two windows in the room we occupied were defective (they didn't close completely). We didn't try to force the mechanism, to avoid any damage. However, the road in front of the hotel is cobbled: every vehicle passing is perfectly audible, and when it's a heavier vehicle, it's a guaranteed wake-up call... Not ideal for a good night's sleep. Twenty minutes after our arrival, we wanted to reserve a table at the hotel restaurant. Unfortunately, we were told it was full. This can happen, of course. But when I asked if adding a small table for two could be considered, I was kindly told that it wasn't possible and that the staff were "already too busy." A regrettable response to give to independents... We smiled kindly. Finally, we found what we were looking for a little further on, at the Cocquempot restaurant, whose cuisine was remarkable. We are convinced that the establishment is capable of offering a much better quality of service and probably does. The infrastructure is really very nice, but the room in question should definitely be avoided (perhaps the one downstairs as well if the windows have the same defect). Sorry for this review, but your staff handles these windows every day for ventilation and should have noticed and reported this problem in good time. As for the restaurant reservation, so appreciated on your site, a little more flexibility—in space, time, and communication—would be welcome.

The staff were very friendly and took initiative to accommodate our dietary restrictions.

This establishment met our expectations, even exceeding them. The very dynamic manager is great and surrounded by a great team. The decor is neat. And the restaurant is excellent. Very good value for money. And to top it all off, the hygiene is impeccable... that deserves to be highlighted these days. I recommend this hotel restaurant without hesitation.

One of my favorite places, both for the welcome, the quality of the inventive cuisine, full of flavors but also for the spacious and quiet rooms... Let's not forget the top-notch breakfast!

A lovely hotel in an ancient building which has been beautifully restored. Our room was very comfortable.

My room was at the front of the hotel close to the road and therefore noisy due to the constant traffic.
I use this hotel because it has a fabulous restaurant unfortunately this time the menu was limited and the food quality average.
My main issue though is the portion which are normally small were tiny this time and when I purchased wine by the glass the volume of wine was again tiny and I believe not a legal measure. I didn’t want to complain but eat elsewhere the second night of my stay.

Haven't stayed here for a few years, but the rooms are now modern with excellent bathrooms. Staff all friendly and helpful- checking in and out was easy, even for those of us whose use of the French language is less than fluent. We didn't eat in the hotel, but heard good reports about breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. Lovely outside terrace where we enjoyed drinks with friends. Good central location, a short walk from all the town's attractions.

we arrived for an overnight stay before returning to UK. We were greeted warmly. The room was well-appointed and there was plenty of secure parking. Food at the hotel restaurant was first rate, probably the best we'd had in the ten days we were in France. Breakfast next morning was equally good. No complaints at all and would recommend to others without hesitation

One of our very favourite hotels in France. Comfortable, well located, car park, charming staff, excellent cuisine.

We first stayed at this hotel over 30 years and have returned many times since, the last being in 2022. Over the years, this hotel has been transformed. Firstly, car parking in the area is at a premium, it is therefore a huge improvement that electronic gates are fitted to the car park with access only available using a key fob issued by reception - brilliant! Wonderful shower room with a perfect non-slip shower tray. Just one niggle though. Having upgraded from silly little square pieces of loo tissue used throughout Logis Hotels, it would improve the situation further if a loo roll holder was fitted therefore not having to reach up to a shelf for the roll!!! The bedroom was perfect in size and very comfortable, but really could do with a full length wall mirror rather than having to rely on the mirror in the bathroom. Great work station but no spare plug sockets!
We only had one evening meal in the restaurant as it was closed one night of our stay which is advised well in advance. The restaurant is WOW!!!
Service was brisk and personable. Food, well its up there at the very top with many famous restaurants we have visited. Absolutely amazing food, beautifully presented.

Overall a very good stay, unfortunately the restaurant was closed as we stayed on a Thursday.

Have stayed here before and the location is great for a rest after the Channel crossing and prepare yourself for your onward journey the next day. The only pity is that the resturant is not open on Thursday evenings - however, there are several decent restaurants at an easy walk from the hotel.

We have stayed here many times over the years and never been disappointed. Just an hour from Calais it is a perfect first and last night stop as we travel.

We confirm the online reviews that led us to choose this establishment: perfect hotel service with an excellent breakfast, quality food, very friendly and efficient staff. An experience that makes you want to return with great pleasure.

On arrival shown room 4 , told them very unhappy
room very very small . They did offer to show us a more expensive alternative than the standard room 4, after discussion we decided it was likely better to stay with room on ground floor , because the whole place is like rabbit warren . Room 4 shower room even smaller , toilet separate near entrance, so small , when door closed your knees touched the door ,the wardrobe next to it was bigger ! Defy any average person could use the toilet with door closed
What we didn’t notice until the next day is there is an electric car charging point just outside our door , obviously then we had noise of people shouting instructions to driver/s reversing their car to charge up, courtyard is very small for vehicles!
Consequently when we opened our room door a car was parked directly outside,with a large cable plugged in obstructing our walk way !
It’s a complete accident waiting to happen , together with a fire hazard!
We booked in restaurant, starters dreadful my
terrine tasteless , wife’s trout tasted just of salt !
Main course lamb and duck were acceptable,
desserts chocolate praline was good , but the
pink rhubarb was completely slop , rested on top
of a meringue. There was little ambiance in the restaurant you could be at any large corporate
diner ! Where other establishments make the evening an occasion, with ambience, hospitality,
this failed completely. We cancelled the next evening reservation.
After travelling in all parts France for many , many
years this establishment just came across as pretentious . A tourist trap , take your money
offer little in return !

The room booked was not the room provided, we booked a superior double and were given a family room despite the hotel stating it was a superior room. The bathroom was a nice standard the remainder of the room was less than acceptable but 'due to our late arrival' there were no other rooms available.
The lights and. Sockets beside the bed did not work.
There was an expectation that we would be able to have a table for dinner but with hindsight this may have been our oversight so if you want dinner book a table.
Really disappointed as the other reviews read really well.
The staff on the day of departure were much better than those on arrival.

Lovely buildings and grounds. Nice bedroom , fantastic bathroom, although they was no toilet roll holder. Stairs up very steep, almost dangerous. Breakfast rather chaotic and unorganised. Will come again

Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The hotel is in a perfect position in the center of town, very easy to go and walk the ramparts or go for a drink in the square.

I have stayed at this hotel many times and have always been very satisfied. However,I was charged 15 euros for Large Dog, when our dog is a small dog weighing less than 10kg. When I pointed this out to the man at the desk, he just shrugged and told me it was a big dog. A disappointing response.

We spent the night in a room with a very strong sewer smell with a huge bottle of room fragrance on the table to hide it. Worse, room fragrance sprayed on the duvet, always to hide it. A horror, nausea all night. And the next day the manager indicated that with her work she thought it was fixed. We told her that the best thing to do was to make sure and that this room should under no circumstances be rented as is.

A good hotel but food and drinks a bit more expensive than other Logis I have stayed at for similar or better quality.
Menu reads very well but the actual balance of the food in each dish was not as good as I expected.
Staff were helpful and attentive in the restaurant but rushed the service too much.

We chose this hotel because it had good reviews for its accommodation and restaurant but sadly, when we arrived we were told that because it was Valentines night, the restaurant was full. I was surprised that there were no tables reserved for residents or at least, when we booked, a response advising us about that fact. We were referred to another walk-in place in the town but this turned out to be a cafe and we went elsewhere.
As to the room (No. 8 on the first floor of an annexe with an external staircase), it was very small with no space for two people to pass each other at the end of the bed but had obviously been recently refurbished so the bathroom and separate toilet were both modern and clean. Unfortunately there was a very unpleasant odour when we first arrived and we had to air the room out by opening the window. To be fair to the management, the did offer me free parking as compensation but the initial impression wasn't good.

Cheerful, cordial but professional welcome. Good quiet room that had been recently renovated to a high standard. Easily managed and effective heating- essential as we visited in December.

Parking is off street in a secure site just behind the hotel.

Very professional and friendly owners and staff

Ideally located in the heart of the village, it has an excellent restaurant and other good addresses within a 5-minute walk! Be careful though if you take a room on the street with the noise of cars

We had a very pleasurable stay. The rooms were generous, very comfortable beds, well fitted and equipped bathrooms, and good wifi. Only hitch was that the heating was unreliable, hot in one room (despite efforts to reduce) and not on in the other. Very helpful staff.

A very well run hotel. Rooms are to a high standard of cleanliness and are well provided for. The evening meal in the restaurant was excellent as was the breakfast.

This is not the first time that my wife and I have visited this establishment. It is always a pleasant moment in a renovated setting that allows you to enjoy tasty and inventive cuisine at a reasonable price.

Very nice place, welcome, meal and top service

Fabulous hotel in a wonderful town, Montreuil sur Mer, with its nearness to the channel tunnel but significant distance from Calais.

Always a fabulous place to stay. Staff are very friendly and professional. Rooms are beautiful, parking available and restaurant and bar are superb.

Just an excellent place to stay.

We chose the hotel as a base four 4 nights as we knew of it from previous visits to Montreuil sur Mer and the location is brilliant. From there we visited Giverny 2.5 hours and Valery sur Somme 1 hr as well as walking on Hardelot beach 30 minutes away.
The room was quiet and very clean.
The staff were attentive and friendly and the food was stunning so much so we ate in the restaurant twice.
The town was a lot to offer itself and we would consider staying again for a couple of nights.

Very tired and dated hotel especially for the price. No wifi in the room, breakfast not included, only one bottle of water in the room, toilet dirty and no free parking

This hotel occupies an unusual and characterful group of buildings, from different historic periods, that have been skilfully combined to create a unique and comfortable environment. It is well run, the team are attentive, and its restaurant is excellent.

This hotel was easy to find. We were welcomed at reception and showed where our room was. We parked in the centre parking initially so we could be shown the parking .

A very comfortable hotel, with a car park. Centrally positioned in the town but the bedroom was very quiet. The meal we had in the restaurant was exceptionally good and very good value too.

Room & bathroom very good. Restaurant was full the night of our stay, but very easy to walk to the central square with bars & restaurants. Piccolinos was one of those recommended & was excellent. Parking was secure, but small for the number of cars. Very tricky to get into & out of certain slots. It was easier once cars started leaving in the morning.

Everything was good despire that i had booked the wrong room (twin!)

The hotel is well located for exploring the town. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The private parking is convenient. Overall, l wouldn't hesitate to return although l would want assurance that l wouldn't have a room at the front where traffic on the cobbled road is very noisy.

Very well equipped room, and location of hotel is excellent. Parking on site a bonus (although has to be booked). The Patio restaurant is excellent too - very clever and delicious cooking and good value.

A place out of time...conducive to relaxation

Excellent hotel with excellent catering too. Only one downside, the fridge was not plugged in and we realized this the next day so hot drinks with a day forecast at 30°!

Everyone is really lovely. The food was sublime. The room enormous. No. 31. No shower but a jacuzzi bath. Lovely ambience, comfortable but with little quirky bits and some lovely art. Montreuil sur Mer is lovely too. Nice to plod round The locals queue for cheese in the evening! Loads of other restaurants and bars but why leave the hotel and bar when people obviously come for miles to eat there? The Patio Restaurant obviously has a very talented Chef.

Electricity was out for most of the day (not the hotels fault) but it was extremely inconvenient having to get ready in the dark for a wedding. The receptionist was very helpful and kind but I am disappointed that we had not been offered any kind of discount due to the massive inconvenience.

The room was also extremely small with hardly any room to move. Overall it was quite disappointing.

We have stayed at les Hauts de Montreuil before, so this is a return trip. The room and facilities are very good and our Rm 7 especially so.

Very nice hotel, in an old residence. The rooms are scattered around the site. Very warm welcome, very good bedding, beautiful bathroom. Parking available. Very high quality restaurant on site. The chef cooks local products with great elegance and imagination. Breakfast is served buffet style. Nothing is missing and even homemade cakes are served on the buffet. Brief ! To do again.

The rooms on the second floor are difficult to access with stairs without elevators. Welcome upon our arrival, passable and detached! Room prices are high. Parking is 10 euros. Breakfast is decent, nice buffet. Nice room. The value for money remains too high.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times and it has consistently gotten better. We were upgraded and had a lovely room and bathroom which appeared to have been recently refurbished. It was very nicely appointed and we had a comfortable stay.

This is the third time we have come to this hotel and never disappointed! Top staff, top room, exceptional breakfast and top restaurant! We really appreciate the warm welcome from the staff and the owner. Everyone takes great care and above all listens. We are going back without a doubt! Looking forward to your next stay!

Central location, kind and helpful staff. Use of outside seating in the pebbled patio was lovely in the sunshine. But electric car charger did not work for non-Tesla cars. Shame as that would make it perfect!
Bedroom - desk is nice & big but if second person wants to use it, you keep bashing your knees - stupid design!
Bathroom well appointed but needs a shelf so toiletries don’t all fall into basin!

Delighted by all the upgrades in recent years: the effort and expense incurred have been well worth while. Would not hesitate to return.

Unfortunately We had a 7.00 am breakfast and the all the cold products where not all on display and the staff member concentrating on preparing cooked food which we didn't think was necessary for a petit dejeuner, in addition the fresh fruit was very tired.

In our opinion this is the best small hotel in France! We love it and try to visit every year.

Hotel located in the center of the city. Kamers aan de achterkant zeer rustig. Mooie kamer puts prima douche en zeer goed bed. Prima ontbijt in mooie setting. This bijhorende restaurant serves gastronomy and at reasonable prices. Please note that there is parking at €10 per day when you purchase the hotel. Kortom, een heerlijk verblijf.

Great location, and a building full of charm and character. Our room was immaculate - simple, elegant, fully functional - a delight. Very warm and engaging staff. Although we arrived later than the suggested kitchen cut-off time, they happily allowed us to join the bustling restaurant where we had a most enjoyable, stylish meal. All round, this is a great hotel!
