Our dinner was simply delicious... Worthy of some famous Michelin stars! Apparently, we were the first to try the new "Strawberry/Rhubarb/Asparagus Variation" menu. Absolutely divine... I highly recommend it! Serving asparagus for dessert is unexpected... but everything blends together beautifully on the plate. We ate on the terrace. I mentioned that it might be a good idea to add some greenery to the old walls, pipes, and electrical wires... But it seems the renovation is planned for soon. I understand that you can't change everything with the wave of a magic wand, but my suggestion was very well received. As for the rest of the hotel, I love the old-fashioned charm of the Art Nouveau decor. The flower-filled windows are absolutely stunning, the floor tiles, painted ceilings, and rosettes deserve to be listed as World Heritage sites (no less!). The bedroom and bathroom have been renovated and are very comfortable. At breakfast, the pastries are so fresh they'll melt in your mouth! And finally, a very warm welcome from the owners, who are clearly attentive to their guests' well-being. What more could you ask for? I gave 5 stars almost everywhere... but I couldn't give less. If we're ever in the area again, we'll gladly return!

My room was on the 2nd floor, no elevator. The room was adequate, but there was no hot water in the morning, and since it was a Monday, breakfast wasn't available. I was directed to a bar/tobacconist... which was closed on Mondays... In short, avoid this hotel if, like me, you're 85 years old... The owner kindly carried my suitcase up, but the next day the chambermaid carried it down again.

Diner was great, room was clean and the beds were good.

At 3:45 pm, as announced in your previous survey, there was no one at reception. We were told that our responses to your survey were not sent to the hotelier!

The female receptionist was unpleasant and rude, calling us liars after we told her we hadn't had hot water in our bathroom.

Parking opposite the hotel. A warm welcome, with all the staff attentive. Pleasant room. Quiet surroundings. Good and generous portions at both breakfast and dinner. In conclusion, excellent value for money.

A very warm welcome awaits you at this historic establishment. The room is comfortable with a spacious bathroom. The dinner offered is excellent, served with very professional service. The same can be said for the breakfast, which offers a good selection of items. The hotel is well located in the city center with very convenient parking.

The room was very poorly soundproofed (noise from the nearby road, the floorboards of neighboring rooms, and the wooden staircase leading to the upper floors). However, the accommodation was very clean, but the shower floor was slippery and the toilet seat didn't stay closed. Okay for a one-night stay, but far from the best hotel I've stayed in.

Located in the very middle of the small town, close to restaurants and in front of a free parking. At around 10 minutes from the "Autoroute" (Highway) going to Le Mans and/or Tours both at 45 minutes.
Very clean (rooms and hotel/restaurant) and very good restaurant opening at 19H00 (I don't know for lunch). You can get a "business" diner linked with your bedroom if you ask for it.
There is one specific bedroom at the floor if you have some difficulties to walk ...

Beautiful city center hotel, old-fashioned but very well maintained. The welcome is very good. The allocated room is not very large but clean and sufficient for one person. A small desk allows you to work. Small refrigerator. Decent quality bedding. Nice bathroom, very clean, bright, with a nice shower. Good quality Wi-Fi for working. Restaurant closed during my stay, the adjacent brasserie offers basic, low-quality food. Free parking on public square right in front of the hotel.

This is a very good location after arriving at Ouistreham. The rooms are comfortable and clean with tea/coffee making facilities

When I arrived (it was a sunday/dimanche) there was no one there and the front door was locked with no way of communicating. Eventually I found my way in thru' the back door - fortunately not locked . Still no one about but there was an envelope at the Reception counter with my name on it and a key inside ! The room was adequate but basic. Not unexpected at a Logis which prioritise their restaurants; however the restaurant was closed ! I did not see anyone until my departure next morning. At 115 euros this was too expensive when absolutely no service was on offer, including no breakfast. About 80 euros would have reflected that reduced service.

We had a great stay at the Grand Hotel. A very nice hotel. We were made to feel very welcome. The room and meals were very good. I recommend this hotel!

Magnificent stained glass windows with all the charm of the old, very spacious and clean rooms, very warm welcome and delicious cuisine. The manager came to pick us up by car at the Château du Loir train station.

Noble building refurbished and spruced up by new owners. The steep winding staircase to the bedrooms cannot be helped but it is not for the faint hearted. Our bedroom did not have any curtains or shutters so the room was lit up by the street lamps all night. There is no hotel parking and this can be a bit of a lottery in the centre of town. The hotel owners and staff were all very friendly, professional and helpful. The restaurant is very popular and the cuisine excellent. Our room was quiet and we slept well. Breakfast was ample and varied and the bacon and egg freshly cooked and welcome.

Room suitable for a family with 2 children and a large dog, very warm welcome, very good bedding and everything was clean. The breakfast was generous, sweet and savory. We regret not having been able to take advantage of the restaurant as we arrived later than expected.

We had thought we would have a room in the main building, not in the annexe looking out onto a very scruffy and unkempt courtyard. The only option was to run the Air Con. The bathroom even though large had no vanity or surface where we could put our toiletries.
Breakfast was good and fresh. No complaints there.

We had an excellent night at this hotel. It was our second visit. We were warmly welcomed by Jonothan, one of the two owners. We had a very large 'superior' room, almost a suite. Dinner was first class, the young waiting staff were excellent and a credit to the hotel. Parking is easy in the public car park opposite and free of charge until 9 am.

Our arrival at the hotel was not planned according to the owner, because no guests are expected on Sundays. The owner was so kind to wait for our arrival, but the restaurant was always closed on Sunday evenings and no breakfast was served on Monday mornings. Very annoying, because in the town of Le Chateau du Loir almost all catering establishments are closed! Too bad…

LE grand Hotel is an outdated hotel, but because everything looked spick and span and it was very cozy this did not matter. What stood out was the delicious dinner. There is a very good chef there.

Excellent cuisine in the restaurant at a reasonable price with a wide wine selection. The room was comfortable with everything one needed. The hotel itself is looking a little tired but this doesn’t really detract from the excellent service we received. This was my second visit in 2 years and I will certainly come again as it is the perfect point to reach from any of the channel ports after an early boat.

Lovely courtyard and hospitality at this hotel. We were stopping overnight on our way from the ferry to our campsite. The hotel was peaceful and the room for our family of four was spacious with proper beds for our teenagers and some privacy for us. It was a little musty when we arrived first, but that cleared quickly. We would definitely use it again. The town was very pleasant as well, and we also managed to experience a little of the Saturday morning market before we left!

An old hotel happily renovated, calm and comfortable, even offering a small swimming pool to cool off in. The welcome is very friendly and, even if the table service, provided by a fairly young staff, still seems to require a little experience, the cuisine is pleasant.

I often travel from Germany to the Iberian Peninsula with an electric car and have already decided to stay at le Grand Hôtel twice when I had a stopover planned. The hotel offers good service and excellent value for money. The restaurant is very good and you can easily charge your car at night in Montval-sur-Loir. What more could I want?

The bike formula is a very good idea; the management and the staff are very attentive and give good advice (for wines in particular); we appreciated the very varied breakfast and the dinner (on a super nice terrace) was perfect, full of flavors and originality, (with that little extra fresh aperitif mignardises); the room is also very good; we will probably return, for all these reasons but especially for the food, we really enjoyed ourselves.

We enjoyed staying at the grand hotel but our experience would have been enhanced by better information, eg labeling of all items on offer at breakfast (jams, juices, types of cheese). Similarly, we expected fresh supplies of tea, milk etc in our room to be provided as a matter of course on the second day and were surprised to discover we should have requested this to happen.

From the moment of booking by telephone, I felt the know-how to properly welcome the customer. A detailed quote arrived quickly in my mailbox upon booking. The room was comfortable, clean and well equipped (two nights for our stay). The breakfasts are continental with fresh products and at a reasonable price (which is not always the case in some hotels). We enjoyed (that's the right word) an excellent dinner (the chef is probably a chef). Finally, the staff is attentive and pleasant, which is why my rating is almost perfect. It lacks one star for the heat in the room but that is not really a disadvantage because the air conditioning is effective and discreet.

Food is very good and hot, shame there is no translation for other languages on the menu. Service very good.
Our only disappointment was the lack of anyone on reception when we arrived. The waiter dealt with us well but no one offered to carry a heavy case up the spiral stairs. We are both over 70………not a good start.
