Exceptional restaurant
The hotel's restaurant is outstanding.
The welcome is perfect, from the managers to the employees, whether for the rooms or the excellent restaurant. Good advice on the region and even booking a guided boat trip on the marsh. The garden-side rooms are superb and typical, you feel at home there. Very quiet and relaxing. The staff is always attentive to respond to the slightest need and satisfy it as best as possible. You can feel in the team a spirit of cohesion and above all respect for the customer. You can feel the joy of the staff working in this establishment thanks to the respect that the managers give them and that they transmit remarkably to the customers. In August, the air conditioning in the rooms is a plus, especially since it is very quiet. In terms of catering, the chef works by highlighting local and seasonal products and adding a touch of exoticism that makes the whole very subtle and delicious. The welcome is simple and warm in the dining room, the customer is pampered while putting him at ease and the smile is required at all levels. An excellent memory for these few days spent at the Central. We keep the address preciously and will not hesitate to share it around us.

The hotel as a whole is very nice, located in the beautiful village of Coulon. We arrived as a couple with a 2 and a half year old child. We called a little before our scheduled arrival time to let us know that we would be arriving late. The receptionist very professionally informed us that the reception closed at 7:30 p.m., the time the GPS had predicted. So far no problem, check-in went very well. Unfortunately, we had no hot water in the room, the reception being closed, no possibility of warning anyone. After a day of driving, no shower, with a toddler who requires special treatment on his skin, with a wash before each treatment, so nothing was done that evening. The next morning still the same, no hot water, I went to the reception, we were kindly offered to take the shower in another room but after the latter was vacated because the hotel was full, Whitsun weekend. We had booked an activity with our son at 10am so the timing was too tight. I went to reception to pay, around 11:15am, after our activity (10am-11am), we were charged 1 night plus 2 adult breakfasts and tourist taxes, I still asked if a small gesture was planned. I was told, oh yes sorry I'll offer you the child's breakfast!!! but what a breakfast, he had his bottle and I shared a piece of my croissant with him, that's all. That was the only commercial gesture we received, when the basis of taking a hotel room is to be able to wash after having traveled, to relax. I am a restaurateur in Paris, I sometimes don't understand the meanness of people to post negative reviews, but here I am obliged to do it, and I am sorry. the water outage is apparently recurring in this room, number 24, a little check before our arrival would have been welcome, but no, priority to the occupancy rate, shame

Very expensive for a small village like Coulon. The standard of the rooms is not up to the price. Radiant heating from the 70s in the bathroom, outdated hairdryer, non-adjustable shower head, supposedly king size bed, when it was 2 single beds pushed together that moved apart throughout the night.... We always love coming here on our trip from the south of France to Normandy. A beautiful town set in glorious countryside. The hotel is central so good for a stroll atound town and close to all amenities. We were in a garden room which is at the rear of the hoyel and therefore quiet. The rooms are modern and clean with a terrace or balcony. The garden is small but very well maintained. The private car park is close
by and secure. The restaurant is beautifull and of high quality. Make surd you book a table in advance. They allow dogs in the hotel rooms.

The meals taken in the restaurant will leave a very good memory, it is a shame that it was closed for two days.
