Very old building, very basic meal and little choice
It was perfect
We received a very warm welcome. Even though the hotel is a bit dated, it remains charming and comfortable. We also had a very good meal.
An unusual hotel, but very decent.
Clean establishment, pleasant staff, very good and plentiful food.
Dirty, noisy room, poor bathroom and noisy drain. Dinner was quite expensive, and breakfast was 50% frozen.
Positive points: the welcoming staff, the breakfast, the old-world charm, the cultural activities Negative points: the noise pollution, the cleanliness, the lack of an elevator, the lack of a stable connection, the lack of air conditioning
Room unworthy of a French home. Peeling paint in the bathroom, no opening with linoleum on the floor. Bedding is adequate but spartan, however, no effort in the common areas, either in decor or cleanliness. Layer of dust in the reception area is several months old! Limited breakfast: white bread and croissants as well as orange juice!

Very friendly staff! Decent food. Clean room. Bathroom needs to be updated and soundproofing is very average.
The images of the room on the website did not correspond at all to reality. The bed was wedged under a gully, offering access to only one person out of two, in the double bed. The bedding was of average quality, but above all the bed creaked at the slightest movement, not to mention the floor of the room which creaked horribly with every step. The same in the neighboring room since there was no soundproofing, we unfortunately experienced it early in the morning. The neighbor could not do anything about it because it was impossible to move around without noise. The layer of dust on the old bathroom window was several years old, the water inlet pipes in the ceiling were rusty! The establishment may have been located in the remote and rural Creuse, but that does not excuse these breaches of the basic rules of hygiene and respect for the customer. I also forgot to mention that two medium-sized dogs roamed freely on the stairs leading to the rooms or in the breakfast room. I love animals, but I didn't find it normal for them to be there.

We went to this hotel following a gift box. We are happy with this short stay.
Great welcome, proper catering, environment that's different from the big chains. I love it! On the other hand, access to WiFi in the room was impossible (2nd floor). For a professional stay with the need to work, it wasn't great. But I'll be back with pleasure!

Discovery of a beautiful establishment
On the 2nd floor, very noisy parquet floor, you can hear the neighbors moving around too much. Average bedding. Traces of humidity on the walls, too bad.
A surprising discovery. Simple, authentic hostel, with multiple cultural activities. It is not the height of luxury, but the atmosphere of the place, the relaxed and friendly welcome of the whole team largely outweigh it.
Clean bathrooms and floors in the rooms. Nothing to say. Very good value for money restoration. Doors and woodwork to be repainted. Storage to be reviewed.

If all the rooms are like mine, it's better to close them. The (dirty) floor creaks at the slightest step, the bed is uncomfortable and noisy with every movement, the walls are made of paper, the shower cubicle can be dismantled at the slightest movement, the image on the micro TV is pixelated and not clear. Being under the roof, the heat is unbearable. A disaster!
Some improvements are to be expected. Bathroom. The bedding is however very comfortable. The linen is very clean. The breakfast is plentiful.
Despite the aging but clean rooms, we had a pleasant evening because our hosts are very friendly.... We recommend
Unsanitary bathroom, mold on the ceiling and on the shower head, shared toilet without paper on arrival and room until our departure.
The wooden floor on the 2nd floor is very noisy and as soon as someone in the adjoining rooms walks it is too noisy.
Cool welcome and nice hotel in a lively locality. My downside: the parquet floor squeaks too much! It's hard not to wake everyone up! The water network is getting a little tired. Otherwise, there is character, a good atmosphere, well-stocked and good breakfasts, life and a warm welcome!
