For professional reasons, I had to rent a shelter for the night and I found refuge at Val Sarah, which I chose thanks to the supposedly negative comments from previous guests. The response from the manager of the establishment showed me how much he loves his job, welcoming his guests and ensuring that the customer experience is as pleasant as possible. Grumpy people and "bad sleepers" should just read the description of the establishment better. I loved the idea of this sincere and fresh meal with local products exchanged with other guests in order to share a moment of collective life and also the opportunity to make personal or professional contacts. I invite hoteliers to perpetuate this system. Thank you for this moment of conviviality and life. As for the rooms, they are comfortable, very clean, the bedding is very clean and firm. I was not able to discover the rest of the estate due to lack of time. Thank you to this delightful couple for creating this space of tranquility, and for being very close to their guests.
First of all, the setting, bucolic as you wish, is the first contact, it is visual and overflowing with charm. Then the welcome; it is kind in order to create a well-being much appreciated after a day of work and travel. Then throughout the stay, as the exchanges become more and more pleasant, a sympathy is created so that at the end of the stay you leave with the feeling of leaving two loved ones. Am I talking about the Alsatian concept? ... To discover and to experience absolutely!!!

I spent 3 days there on a business trip, it serves as my base camp when I am in the department, it is ideal both for the quality of the rooms, the meals and also the welcome from the team. Thank you to them
Simple accommodation in a pleasant environment. However we were unimpressed by the evening meal - we chose the hotel because it offered an evening meal; however there was no choice, we were presented with Cheese & lardons on thin pastry, followed by "salad" (lettuce with dressing) and then fruit salad. Wall (three guests & the host) sat together for drinks beforehand, the meal and conversation. The bill for the food was 25 Euro per person, a small (10cl) glass of wine 5 Euro! We have eaten in small local restaurants where the "menu du jour" (choice of 2 or 3 entrees / plats / desserts is <20 Euro. We find the food and drink costs excessive for what was provided.

Merci pour votre commentaire, noté 6/10 (on espère que c’est pour l’originalité du dessert 😄). Alors oui, chez nous, on ne fait pas de la grande gastronomie moléculaire, mais de la Flammekueche généreuse, à volonté, dans un cadre convivial, avec une salade maison (et pas en sachet !), un dessert frais, un petit verre de vin (certes pas une bouteille à vous tout seul 😜)… le tout annoncé à l’avance, et bien entendu sans aucune obligation de s’attabler.
Il se trouve qu’en plus, le jour de votre venue, nous venions d’apprendre la réussite universitaire de notre fille. Alors oui, peut-être que l’ambiance était un peu plus festive que d’habitude : on partage les réussites avec nos clients, nos habitués, les visages souriants du jour. C’est ça aussi, l’esprit maison.
Vous évoquez les petits restaurants avec menus à 18 €… mais avec entrée, plat, dessert et vin pour ce prix-là, je vous avoue qu’on est curieux de voir où c’est, et surtout si on vous ressert trois fois ! Car oui, notre menu alsacien était à volonté. Quand on est habitué au camping, effectivement, le changement peut dérouter.
Quant à votre étonnement sur notre verre de vin à 5 €… on vous rassure, c’était du vrai vin. Pas de la piquette ou un cubi de supermarché planqué sous le comptoir. 😉
Enfin, permettez-nous une petite note un peu plus directe : après quelques années dans l’hôtellerie, on commence à reconnaître les sourires de façade et les « reviews vengeresses » du lendemain. Et malheureusement, les Anglais sont parfois champions du genre : tout va bien sur place, on trinque, on rigole, on finit les plats… puis paf, un petit commentaire piquant le lendemain. On ne se formalise plus : on a compris que certains rêvent du service 4 étoiles, au prix d’une baraque à frites.
Petit rappel utile : les étoiles sont affichées à l’entrée, et les tarifs sont sur la carte. Rien n’est caché, ni la salade, ni la sauce, ni les prix !
Bref, moi, je n’aime pas les hypocrites et les rêveurs...

Very original and pleasant, the meal in common with the other guests and the owners around a table, like in some guest tables. When you are traveling all week, it is nice to be able to exchange with other people in a very relaxed atmosphere made favorable by the owners of the hotel.
Thank you for this moment during my business trip. It is the first time that I am received as a guest in a hotel. The Alsatian concept of sharing a meal in the evening around a large table brings real comfort when you are far from home

A warm welcome, simple and friendly atmosphere. Simple and sufficient catering, "at home" atmosphere. The menu is imposed but the host remains attentive to requests or dietary contraindications. Good value for money.
Green setting and warm welcome!
Conviviality is the uniqueness of this hotel. Arriving at the start of the evening, the boss seats everyone on the terrace and leads the exchanges between the customers, then during the meal taken together like in the canteen! It was aflamekuche evening, they were numerous and good! Served for the table, we share them between customers... Otherwise nothing special, the rooms are comfortable, just a little heating is missing for my taste.
As always, incredible conviviality during meals, or before on the terrace. I feel welcomed in a friendly manner. Ideal for traveling people, such as salespeople, technicians, etc.
A regular at Logis de France, the Val Sarah is at the top of the basket. The place is magnificent and well appointed (relaxation and conviviality areas are available with armchairs, chairs, tables, hammocks). Ladislas' welcome is really pleasant and he immediately offers to join the other "tenants" for a drink before the meal. The chalets are superb both inside and out and well appointed. No menu, the menu is unique. The meal is “homemade” with good products. In the kitchen and in the service, Delphine and Ladislas are truly friendly and attentive hosts. Breakfast offers a wide choice (sweet, savory) and the products are also of good quality. In short, an evening stopover at this price with an excellent atmosphere, a very pleasant calming setting, a good table... It's difficult to do better. An address discovered by chance and which I intend to keep carefully for a future visit to the region.
Great idea to eat as part of a larger group around the “Stammtisch”…friends’ table. Delightful hosts but a number of strong voices & personalities in other guests meant we could contribute little to the conversation despite our usually adequate spoken French ( we were the only non native French speakers …).
