A very nice discovery, innovative and surprising catering like this postman's soup with this hot stone in the spirit of the postman Cheval who remains the emblem of this small town in the Drôme. The weather was also great for us.

Warm welcome, excellent cuisine, comfortable room. Very good value for money for an overnight stay.

Not enough space to put your affaires (not talking about clothes but iPad, newspaper, keys, wet raincoats or any coats at all. Not enough electricity to charge things, no possibility to connect apnea apparatus next to the bed. Had to choose to connect a lamp or a coffee machine or a water heater. Had to put the water heater on the floor!
All is set up for the coffee machine with several coffee cups, but two tea bags in the cupboard where we didn’t expect them.
Television is hanging too high.
Breakfast rather busy with always staff around doing tables, walking around. We came a bit later for breakfast and a lot was already eaten. There was enough, but I missed some normal cheese, even when I asked for it.
In general the restaurant was excellent by the way!
Staff very impersonal, looking at you if you were an alien…except a young girl in the bar, who was apparently new…

This is the second time I've made a stopover and it's really very pleasant. We slept in one of the caravans. Very comfortable. And dinner on the terrace was absolutely fabulous... refined, varied... it's gourmet... but plentiful... (not miniature portions) An exceptional welcome too. A big thank you to everyone

However, there is a small problem that may be just ours 😉: access is complicated at night; once you finally find the hotel entrance - perhaps there is a missing explanatory sign? - the landing above the stairs remains lit for very short periods, making it difficult to enter the code if you don't have a torch. A friendly house

Located in a lively village (Palace of the Postman Cheval), this hotel won us over with our family room and especially with its food: excellent! Very friendly manager, as well as the staff. That says it all 👍

The room rate is high compared to the quality offered, shower door is bad and shower head needs replacing, sun exposure from the corridor is random.

Great hotel. Room was well equipped and clean. Staff were very good.

The room was a bit small and without bedside tables. The meal was very good except for the cheese which is extra for the 35 euro menu and which for 5 euros comes in tiny portions.

A great experience

Very good stay overall, the breakfast is great, unbeatable value for money: good fresh, regional products and prepared with care. The only downside is for the evening cuisine at the restaurant: our dishes were a little overcooked. It's a real shame because all the products are fresh and local, you really feel the desire to do well. The owners and the young waitress/receptionist were very pleasant.

It was nice that there was a private parking space, which was locked at night. The room was nice and spacious, but the floor creaked a bit. The bathroom was nice and spacious, but the shower did not hang well, so you had to use it as a hand shower.

The hotel was chosen mainly for its location in terms of distance from our setting off point and distance to go for our next night stop. We have stayed here before some years ago but this visit was much more impressive in terms of comfort, service and standard of food.

On the way to the holidays, one night stop in Hauterives. The hotel is in every way faithful to the description. Very good bedding. For people who have difficulty walking, the stairs to access the first floor are a little steep. The breakfast as well as the dinner at the restaurant are good. I recommend this hotel.

The room is a small but cozy bungalow that can accommodate four people for a stay of one or two days. It has everything. Extra bed could be improved. Excellent cleaning. Good restaurant. Very friendly staff.

Whilst room was large and comfortable, there was a layer of dust along skirting board. The dinner was disappointing. Very ordinary stuffed rolled chicken and the cheese course was parsimonious! Staff varied - lady owner and young lad (presumably son) were smiley and pleasant, the gentleman was somewhat dour and downright rude when squeezing between me and wall to reach a socket without a word of apology.

Warned 2 days before our arrival that there would be no catering...and in this village on Monday evening no restaurant was open....ice cream for the shower and any breakfast....I had chosen this hotel because it was an accommodation...and in general the catering is excellent...we had to take the car again to find a restaurant open in the evening..shame...shame...so I don't recommend it

Wir waren 1 Nacht im Roulotte. Sehr, sehr schön und wunderbar geschlafen. Auch das Frühstück war gut. Ein schöner Aufenthalt. Since 18.00 the time has come, the Palais Idèal has been in a hurry for a few minutes.

Large, quiet room, nice, spacious shower, friendly staff, very good breakfast and dinner. Large, enclosed car park. Main attraction and therefore the reason for our stay, easily accessible on foot. We were completely satisfied and would gladly come back.

Everything is perfect, I would just put a kettle and coffee and tea sticks as is done in Anglo-Saxon countries.

A great stay, truly memorable.. We had booked in a caravan, the idea is original, but we loved this quiet little corner at the back of the park with all the comfort... The catering a real treat for the taste buds, the service is exceptional, the owners are warm, very welcoming and above all take care of the customers. For an evening stopover, the hotel is clean, simple cuisine without surprises (meat a little dry). Private parking. The room is clean, the decoration is neat. The bathroom is clean, small but functional. The only downside is the staircase to access the 1st floor which is steep and narrow when you have a large, heavy suitcase to climb. A bottle of water is offered as well as coffee in the room. The place is quiet.

Clean room however would require renovation up to date and bedding to be reviewed Very poor insulation!!! As for the restaurant, the meals are tasteless but above all pay attention to the menu. On the children's menu, 2 scoops of ice cream for dessert and the manager confirms that he is entitled to one scoop Obviously I asked for the card again to check and asked for the 2nd scoop, Thieves!!! And favoritism ....all the restaurant's customers were entitled to appetizers except us...why?! In short, we won't come back.

Well located hotel, private parking, very warm welcome upon arrival, the bedding is very correct, coffee, tea and bottle of water in the room which is appreciated. I don't give a good rating for the bathroom, the person at reception will be the reason, also for the evening meal which is a single menu; no possibility of changing the flank steak for a fish, or like me no choice of eating the same thing as my lunch!

A very nice, personal hotel with a very friendly host couple. The walking distance to the "Palais idéal" was the deciding factor in our choice, but I would come back any time if it was on our route. A country inn "comme il faut"! In January we were the only guests; but from April onwards you should definitely make a reservation.
