Our room was extremely small there was insufficient space tp open the bathroom door easily there was insufficient drawer and hanging space to enable us to unpack properly. On arrival and during our stay we saw nobody in reception and we originally had to gain access through the bar
It has become very rare for hotel staff to show you to your room, but this is the case at Puits Doré. And what's more, the receptionist carries your luggage. What more could you ask for?
Very good! Nothing to complain about!
We had a warm welcome and a place to store our bikes was provided. The meal was very tasty in the evening as was the breakfast which had the usual items plus scrambled eggs and sausage.
Good except the bathroom. Shower not closed, weak flush
Room with very good beds. Pitty that the carpet was loose and worn, doesn't give a good impression. Friendly and helpful staff and exquisite kitchen.

Quality bedding in a pleasant setting. The catering is not left out for a pleasant stay.
The hotel has aged a bit and seems a bit sad compared to the photos on the website. Otherwise the interior architecture is very particular and beautiful, the room small but pretty and the bedding perfect. The bathroom is modern and very clean. A bit expensive all the same, but you pay for the historic site.

School: my niece arrived at 9:50 for breakfast, he pointed out to her that there was not enough time, she replied that she would not be there long. 🙁 My son and my husband arrived late at the hotel after an 8-hour drive. They found the family who were eating at the hotel, my son asked if it was possible to put an extra chair so that he could stay with his cousin. Instead of finding a solution, he was told that it was not possible, because an extra chair was in the way. I think that a good hotelier would have answered, the room is too small to add a chair, however I suggest you sit at the table which is located outside and I will prepare a quick meal for you
We still appreciate the quality of the hotel, its very well-stocked breakfast and its restaurant with a very good quality-price ratio. We will come back with pleasure!
We had an amazing stay, particularly thanks to the brilliant staff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and help us with everything we needed, for example sorting out some late food for us when were delayed arriving after the restaurant was closing. We also loved the surroundings - Richelieu is a fascinating walled town and the square is in a beautiful town square, perfect for an outdoors meal in the evening.
Quick welcome at 7:30 p.m., the restaurant no longer accepts customers from 8:30 p.m. The room rented for €99 under the roof without air conditioning with a small skylight that is difficult to open. The bathroom is old, the toilets dirty and dirty. The breakfast room is poorly arranged, terrace cushions scattered at the reception and to finish with the announcement of our deplorable night, we smile at you! Avoid!
Beautiful hotel in a historic house
We were disappointed with the dinner, especially the main course, the fish and the very dry side dish, too much rice and not enough vegetables and tasteless. Room 203 is very old...especially the bathroom, the shower tray is moldy in several places. After adding 50e on a box and choosing a *** we expected much better.
The welcome and service from staff was exceptional. During every conversation the staff took time and effort to ensure customers’ well-being. It was very much appreciated.
They provided a Very Comfortable bed in an airy and attractive room with a comfortable amount of space in the room and en-suite.
The pillows were too springy and bed sheet not ironed but these were minor points as we brought our own pillows.
The lighting was from bedside lights and there was no central light which meant it was dim when it got dark and we both struggled to read.
Conditioner and body lotion in bathroom would have been nice and 2 coffee sachets and no milk or sugar etc was disappointing.
The breakfast was a buffet and had variety and the coffee, although from a machine, was good.
A good blues rock band were playing which made the dining experience fun. We both chose fish and the rice and stuffed mushroom accompanying it was delicious. My portion of fish was disappointing - very tasty for the first few mouthfuls but then a temperature change and a very rubbery section - with more than 8 largish bones was weird so I couldn’t swallow it and left it.
The glasses of white and red wines we tried were very good and we’d recommend them.
We were bothered by noise from the nearby bar until about 2am and by snoring from the next room (poor soundproofing). Otherwise, everything was good: very attentive staff, nice hotel. Note, when waking up, the pleasant smells of cakes and madeleines emanating from the kitchens
I booked this hotel via a Smartbox box to celebrate 1 year of relationship with my husband. I find it a shame to belittle your service under the pretext that we went through the Smartbox. And the response from the Google comments is unacceptable. Compared to the others, I don't understand.

Beautiful hotel, unusual location is pleasant. However in July it was extremely hot in our room. There was no air conditioning. There was also an unpleasant smell in our room. The buffet breakfast is pleasant and of good quality.

Very warm welcome, the people who took care of us on the day of our arrival were very professional and attentive. Lots of know-how and kindness. We also had a great time at dinner. Everything was perfect really. If we have the opportunity to return to Richelieu without hesitation this is where we will come back.
no shower, no shower curtain in the bathtub, anemic water jet with alternately boiling or frozen water depending on the other showers on the floor. Impeccable cleanliness of the room. But the safe provided did not work. Strong musty smell in the annex where I was staying.

Very good local meal served in the evening and hearty breakfast. Ideal location in the city. Room, small but comfortable with the charm of beams and stone walls. Sober and tasteful furnishings. The best part is the armchairs on the terrace on the square.
Very good apart from the windows and walls not being insulated, which means you can hear everything in the street.
I don't know what the rest of the hotel is like but my room had a dirty carpet in very poor condition. Impossible to take out your shoes calmly. The rest of the room and bathroom is also disappointing with cobwebs and period furniture. For the restaurant, the experience was very good. Hotel very well located in the historic center of Richelieu. Impeccable welcome. Very beautiful spacious room with beams, exposed stones, large castle fireplace in the room. Double room: 3 windows overlooking 3 streets/different views It is definitely worth booking the most expensive room. A special mention for the pod coffee maker, the recycling bin and the automatic timer for going to the shower room. Perfect buffet breakfast, salty and sweet. Very good restaurant too.

I wanted to thank all the staff for their welcome and their kindness. The hotel is very comfortable and very clean. In terms of cuisine, nothing to complain about, excellent value for money. We were 13 people for our mother's 74th birthday and à la carte. Tasty food, cooked just right, beautiful presentation. Good choice of wines from the Loire Valley... Very nice discovery and the most charging station for electric cars in front of the hotel that you can reserve when booking your room!!! Wide choice for breakfast buffet. A big thank you for this wonderful time spent with you!!! I'm looking forward to seeing you again!!!

Absolute gem! A lovely restored piece of history in the market square with free parking right outside. The evening menu featured local produce cooked to perfection and the breakfast buffet was the best we have had! This hotel ticked every box for us and the welcome was especially friendly with the English-speaking host rescuing us from our poor effort with the French language - well, we tried :)

Excellent address! Beautiful 17th century building (like this whole "new town" desired by Richelieu), ideally located a stone's throw from the entrance to the gigantic Richelieu Park. Parking right outside, on the main square. Beautiful, comfortable room, very well equipped (large cozy 160cm bed, however a little too soft for my taste...). Very varied and qualitative breakfast (hmmm the homemade omelette and local mature cheeses!). Great kindness of welcome, and management felt very "square". Well done and thank you!

Regarding the restaurant, I had the quail and there was really very little to eat on the plate, I know that a quail is small but very little accompaniment to compensate. otherwise it was very good, just too little.

Richlieu makes a lovely stopover when driving through France and what better hotel to stay but Puits Dore. Despite being very busy on arrival as there was an antiques fair nearby we were given a warm welcome and advised where to park nearby. Our room was huge (also the bed) and very airy. After a good walk in the park nearby to exercise us and our dog and a freshen up we were on the terrace for dinner at the side of an ancient square.. The food and services was first class and really established we were back in France. We had a very relaxing pleasurable stay and would definitely recommend the hotel.. Thank you.

A very friendly welcome, especially since the manager had to correct the date that google imposed on the Logis site (via google maps)! It is therefore better to go directly to the Logis site to have up-to-date and closer availability. The availability of staff is perfect. The restaurant is qualitative on a deliberately limited choice The place is quite quiet for a historic town center.

If you like rustic, you've come to the right place, creaky floorboards, stifling heat in the attic, no double-glazed windows, very small bathroom space for a triple room, bedding that's not at all comfortable and moves constantly, we slept very badly, on the other hand the staff is very helpful, we were provided with a hair dryer because it did not work in the room. The restaurant is just ok, but the breakfast is very ok.

A wonderful place to stay for the full Richelieu experience! Very comfortable room with lovely outdoor seating to enjoy in warm weather. Staff friendly and accommodating. Meals good rather than spectacular … but not too expensive considering the location. Would definitely come again!
We were greeted by the lovely Olivier who was very helpful and directed us to our rooms but on opening the doors we werent impressed. My mum and dads room was very small but adequate and mine was awful, neither had air conditioning and my room had windows and shutters that were about 10 feet off the floor so i couldnt see out of them and couldnt even reach them to open them to let in fresh air. I asked to change rooms but was told the hotel was full.. we had been driving all day so just had to accept it and hoped the dinner would cheer us up. We were wrong! We sat down at 8pm and ordered our food (we were served by Olivier who was lovely as well as an extremely lovely helpful young lady too) we ordered our food and the drinks were brought straight away, then we waited and waited and waited, more people came in and sat down, ordered and got served, 40 mins went by so we asked Olivier when our food would arrive and he said it would be soon. Everyone else at this point had had their mains and puddings and some had even left and we still hadnt had our food! after over an hour of waiting our food finally turned up and we were not impressed. My mums fish was luke warm and it felt like it had been frozen and just warmed up so she didnt eat much of it in case she was ill, my belly of pork was very nice but a bit fatty and my dad ordered a burger which to be honest was very poor... a dry burger in a dry bun with a bit of lettuce and some chips, very basic and not what you would expect from a Logis restaurant. Needless to say my mum was ill in the night and didnt make it to breakfast - so all in all it was a really poor experience which is a real shame as we have been using Logis hotels for years but this has now put us off staying in one again. Breakfast was nice (apart from the coffee machine and the orange juice machine both being empty when we arrived!) and the staff were all really lovely but the rooms and the evening food were a massive let down, sorry.
Staff very available and very friendly. I recommend room 101 for those who like beams, large rooms with a fireplace and atypical windows and shutters. Very nice hotel and easy to park with this large square in front.

Unfortunately we arrived late morning and the staff seemed to be in a panic. We were asked to return at 3.00pm to access our room, which was on third floor in a small room in the roof with no lift.
We asked about eating at the Hotel that evening and were told they were full ! Later a coach party arrived of mainly American's, considering there was only 2 of us we thought this was totally unreasonable for a Hotel to not expect overnight guests staying would require dinner. Perhaps if we had been warned we would have stayed elsewhere.

I have stayed here many times and always find the welcome friendly and accommodating. I have a motorbike and they are always considerate regarding parking and security. It's not a flashy 5 star chain with a corresponding price tag, but a straightforward, pretty hotel in a pretty town with good free parking right outside the hotel, and when the suns out and it's warm, a lovely place to sit and eat in the evenings.
It's an excellent choice for a singe traveller, notwithstanding, I would, and will be staying here with my family soon, it breaks my journey to the south ideally. Value for money and simply just a nice place to stay.

The interlocutor during the reservation was not very precise for the reservation, and the inexplicit confirmation email, which earned us a big surprise when paying for our stay. For a Logis de France, little better! We will not return to this hotel.

Bad surprise no children's menu the boss makes no offer or price ax potato 10 euros no starter no dessert!!!! The same evening if an industrial compote was offered!!! But still no starter or dessert!! The very strange service you take your aperitif that we serve you the dishes and after we wait 35 minutes for a dessert and the height the boss makes us a remark on our grandson who looks at a tablet with headphones so as not to disturb the customers he is 4 years asking us if our grandson was visiting a castle with his tablet!!!
