This a hotel you come to for the food, the quality is excellent and the service superb (young and enthusiastic waiters) This my second visit knowing that after a long journey we would have a very good meal. OK the rooms are a bit basic and need updating but the restaurant makes up for it.
Some Logis hotels have fridges in the rooms this one didn't - but, the baisin plug worked !
The staff were very welcoming and were able to satisfy our request. The bed was really very comfortable and the restaurant excellent. An additional power outlet next to the bedside in the bedroom would have been very practical, some traces of damp on the walls, but it's really to give areas for improvement because otherwise everything was fine.
It's as if the rooms are made out of cardboard, you hear EVERYTHING what happens in the room next
or above you and that means that the other guests can hear you too. Internet is very poor too.
Hotel very well kept, but old, with insufficient sound insulation. That's the only downside.
We had a very pleasant stay.

View the hotel's answerYou arrive and no need to look for a parking space. Well received and what had been agreed was respected. The room was nice and everything worked normally. Very good meal at the restaurant. The buffet breakfast is not large but provided enough to satisfy. It remains a good step when I have to cross France towards the south-west.
This Logis de France is a pleasant and quiet evening stopover. Thank you for the welcome as well as for the restaurant.

The breakfast at €11 was grossly overpriced and dinner was not served at all on the day we were there as the restaurant was closed. We only found that out on site. You could have been informed about that beforehand. In addition, nothing was recommended what you can do or where there is something to eat. But what you have to say is that the cleanliness of the hotel was great.

View the hotel's answerAccustomed to the Logis de France, this stay was disappointing. No hot water or very little, no air conditioning and above all friendly limit when the hot water problem was exposed. I will continue to book in Logis de France but will not advertise for those of St Marcel
This was a very welcoming Hotel and the dinner in the Restaurant was memorable - it is always a good sign when the locals are turning up to eat.

Serrano ham with an unpleasant taste + tasteless melon, beef tartare requested with egg ("but the egg was put in, of course!), dessert most certainly industrial, all this for 32 €. Decent room, but tiny shower room A fan on greeted us in the room, despite it having air conditioning?!(which we didn't use) Noise from adjoining shower rooms too invasive.

Very good from all points of view, the reception, the room, the evening meal worthy of a gourmet restaurant and the very complete breakfast. Absolutely recommended.
We verbleven hier op de reis naar Spanje en ligt erg goed op de route. Weinig te beleven maar dat hoefde voor ons ook niet. Voor de kids was er niet echt iets op het menu, maar moesten wel de volle mep betalen voor een beetje patat en ijs. Voor de rest was het met ze vieren wat krapjes op de kamer, maar voor een nachtje te doen en financieel een goede optie. Was allemaal goed schoon en personeel vriendelijk.

View the hotel's answerBad set of circumstances. I had booked several weeks in advance as part of a road trip. I had specified that I would like a quiet room. Heatwave effect in the meantime. The hotel had informed me 10 days before my stay by email that the air conditioning in the rooms was broken. We were the second arrivals. And a room in the parking lot was assigned to me. A fan had been installed in the bedroom. But impossible to keep the windows closed even with a fan. So we slept with the window open on the parking lot with cars leaving early and streetlights on. I could have said nothing but ... rooms with a view of the garden existed and would have made it possible to sleep, a dog whined all night in an adjacent room, and the boss I saw at the time of payment did not even tell me asked how the stay had gone, or offered a commercial gesture. In summary, the minuses are the equipment and the boss. The pluses are the rest of the very pleasant and friendly staff and the restaurant menu.

Heel went overnachtingshotel. Goede bedden, goed restaurant met betaalbare gerechten en ruim voldoende ontbijt.
We could not fault the quality of the food served in the restaurant. Quality local and regional ingredients beautifully cooked and presented. Excellent choice of wines and attractive bar area. Our expectations were that the room would be larger as we booked a superior room which would be standard in other similar priced hotels. The room rate seemed about 12% above similar style hotels. Great stay though as the staff and food made up for the very average room.

De ontvangst was prima en vriendelijk
Het is een schoon Hotel met goede kamers en vriendelijk personeel.
Het ontbijt is wat karig maar de diner was heerlijk en van goede kwaliteit.
Het enige min putje was dat de bad kamer wat krap was.
Het is wel een Hotel waar we graag nog een keer bezoeken op weg naar zuid Frankrijk.

The room seemed small to me for a superior, the bathroom okay, too bad it was repainted by a non-professional. At the restaurant, different meats are served with the same accompaniment! We won't be back.

Small bathroom: little space for towels and no hooks for clothes. No self-service decaffeinated at breakfast, but you can ask for one from the staff who serve it very kindly.
Very nice place, warm welcome and very clean and spacious room. Little more, dogs are accepted and also very welcome. The restaurant is very good.

The hotel has been renovated but the soundproofing is poor, the bedroom and the bathroom have damp spots on the ceiling. The breakfast is brief
Bit of a difficult one this. The room and bathroom were nice and clean - perfectly adequate for our needs. The restaurant was excellent as was the service. The location is good just off the motorway but far enough to be quiet. Overall I’d of scored it very highly but for one thing - the walls are paper thin and I could clearly hear the guy next door talking and then snoring. - such a shame as it was an ideal replacement for our usual stop which has now been sold.
We only stayed for one night but had a very nice stay after a long drive. Our room was clean and comfortable and the staff in the restaurant most welcoming and helpful with our poor French!
Magnificent location in the Val de Creuse. Lots of hiking possibilities in a generous nature. Parking near the rooms. Comfortable rooms (a negative point: impossible to control the temperature, room too cold), clean and equipped sanitary facilities although quite cramped. EXCELLENT restaurant and cuisine, menu and quality worthy of a tasting restaurant, top service.

it's a pity that a note tells you to save water and another specifies that you have to let the water run for a long time to have hot water. Please invest in a water heater for the hotel instead of using the one in the restaurant building! Otherwise, no complaints, we arrived at night and left very early so we didn't take advantage of the possible view :)
Le principal problème est que l'hôtel est séparé du bâtiment restauration. Ce qui devrait en faire un atout devient un handicap car le ballon d'eau chaude est dans le bâtiment restauration. Des instructions dans la salle de bain nous invitent donc à laisser couler l'eau quelques minutes (bonjour l'écologie). Mais montre en main j'ai eu de l'eau tiède au bout de 17 mn et l'eau chaude au bout de 20 mn ce qui fait quand même un peu long. Sinon la chambre est agréable et propre

Chambre correcte, mais pour 85€, peut mieux faire. Le problème c'est la salle de bains vieillotte, il faut poussez les parois de la douche pour être confortablement sur les WC, l'évacuation du lavabo se bloque, le miroir à l'extérieur sur la porte est bringue allant. Si non c'est propre. Lit confortable
Accomodation a bit run down (bathroom), smallest shower cabin ever. WIFI is a joke, owner is very busy with just about everything save welcoming his guests. Very much not in line with other Logis de France hotels, where hospitality is THE reason to stay there. If you like efficiency, though - go to this hotel as the place seems to be run like an Amazon warehouse. Good restaurant, unfortunately no half bottles on the menu.
Je regrette, d'une façon générale l'absence de traversin dans les lits car j'ai besoin d'un oreiller ET d'un traversin pour être bien. J'ai apprécié la possibilité de chauffer la salle d'eau vue la température ambiante.

Un bonne adresse pour un diner exceptionnel
L’hôtel est correct, les chambres correctes aussi, mais les salles de bains sont très vieillottes. La literie est cependant bonne. Mais on y retournerait surtout pour le restaurant, où la cuisine est vraiment délicieuse ! Le service y est aussi impeccable, et le personnel très gentil.

This is the third or fourth time we have stayed on our journey from Najac back to Caen. Its half way location and nearness to the motorway make it convenient and it is always pleasant.

Très déçu par le fait que si vous occupez la chambre plus d'une nuit, aucune visite du personnel n'est prévu, vous n'avez aucune remise en état de la chambre et des petits services tels que les dosettes de café ou thé, le lit n'est pas fait et vous réutilisez les mêmes serviettes de bain,.
D'autre part, une forte odeur très nauséabonde s'échappe des canalisations de la salle d'eau.
Nous sommes une famille de 4, et nous sommes arrivés tard en soirée.
Nous avons eu une équipe en réception très accueillante et compréhensive
Chambre au décor "vieillot" mais avec tout le confort nécessaire. Surtout la clim pdt les jours de canicule
