A pleasant and very peaceful stay, thank you.
We had a wonderful time at this magnificent 16th-century manor house nestled in the heart of nature. The superior room was tastefully decorated, clean, and the bedding very comfortable. We loved the view from our room overlooking the beautiful garden and terrace. The restaurant was excellent, featuring high-quality local produce. The breakfast was generous. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. In short, it's a fantastic place to stay when visiting this beautiful region.
Nothing to complain about, comfortable bedding, excellent meals and a super friendly owner, I recommend this establishment 100%.

I booked a superior room, but compared to other hotels, the room was quite standard. It was clean, no problems there, but there was no coffee-making facility even though the listing mentioned it, and the wallpaper was peeling a bit.

I spent one night at this establishment during a business trip. This will now be my go-to place in this area!
Avoid this place, especially in winter and if you're sensitive to the cold. We had water dripping through the roof, which had apparently frozen, onto the carpet and wooden table. But let's just say that's "nothing" compared to the fact that in the middle of the night the only working radiator stopped working. In any case, in this large room, only one of the two radiators was functioning, and the one in the bathroom was also out of order. The bitter cold was so intense that it woke us up in the middle of the night. So, little rest. The next day we learned that the heating was controlled remotely. This is even more worrying because it means the owners seem to think that the presence of guests in their rooms doesn't justify keeping the radiators on all night long in late December, especially with the damp conditions and sub-zero temperatures. Significantly less important but worth noting: the superb fireplace in the dining room is not being used to its full potential as logs are stored there but there is no fire, even though we had a total of 5 tables of guests for dinner.
Calm and comfort are the two words that come to mind to describe this establishment.
First room is old-fashioned, with sloping ceilings and no heating. We were assigned another room, but it was also old-fashioned. It was a twin room, and we had booked a double room. The bathroom had a bath, which was reserved with a shower and a bathroom window that was impossible to close completely. The good thing is the food, even if the price is a bit high.

Very beautiful place, quiet. Warm welcome and top restaurant
The room assigned really needs renovation and does not match the photos on the website, nor probably other rooms. Bedding very good, but carpets, tapestries really outdated for this price. Lots of dust on the beams and circulation in the room complicated. Bathroom to be renovated and not practical. The standard of the rooms should not be uniform in the hotel and some should be excluded or offered for another level of service and especially with full knowledge of the facts. Once the renovation of the last rooms is done, it will be a very beautiful place. In the meantime, we must be transparent with the customer during reservation or reception about the overall quality of the room and not oversell certain rooms which denote the overall service.

We had a lovely stay, a warm welcome, friendly atmosphere... and the food was excellent. You took over the establishment only 3 years ago, we wish you all the best for the future and success with the upcoming renovations... especially for the accessible room.
We arrived, the managers weren't there and we were received by the gardener who gave us a room without a window which we didn't take, of course we went for a walk while waiting for the managers to come back which we didn't see. The cook was at reception, he tried to find us a room but he didn't really know how it worked and around 5:30 p.m. or 6 p.m. the waitress offered us another room which we were happy with. we ate at the restaurant which was perfect the succulent meal and a very friendly and very smiling waitress the next day we had breakfast which was perfect and when it was time to leave and pay at the reception the managers still not there it was the chambermaid who also did not know how to call her should be there in 10 minutes we waited more than 15 minutes no one in sight we paid what we owed to the chambermaid and we left I think that someone should be at the reception for this type of hotel we are very disappointed our children gave us this box to have a good time and well missed. if they have to be absent it should be better closed that it is such a mess
In the annex of the hotel, they gave us a very small room with no window—or rather, the entrance door had a window inside. The room's quality-price ratio was absolutely inadequate. We asked for a larger room and were offered a room in the main building. This was a little better, but the room smelled of mold, and there was no insulation from the other rooms, so much so that we could hear our neighbor snoring. The room, like the bathroom, while better than the previous one, was absolutely not comfortable. The furniture was mixed, and the bathroom window could only be opened with a cord attached to the handle. We had planned on having dinner in the hotel, since it was far from the town center. Honestly, the price of the dishes didn't match their quality and presentation. Paying €35 for a chicken dish (which was also poorly presented) was outrageous. Furthermore, the service, while polite, was subpar. The owner, who wandered among the tables in tight, frayed shorts, was the best! The hotel's setting is beautiful, but the interior of the building needs a lot of improvement. I hope they realize this.

Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. The hotel needs some updating here and there, but the hospitality of the owners and staff quickly made us forget about that. The owners are very hospitable and welcome you with open arms. The staff also deserve a big compliment, especially the young woman who served us at dinner and the woman who was so friendly at breakfast.
The layout of the bedroom under the eaves makes it difficult to move around. The bathtub under the eaves makes it impossible to take a shower while standing up.

The room needs an urgent update. Tiniest wc we have ever seen. Shower was hot and had great pressure, towels were good and bed was also good. But the room is desperately in need of an overhaul.

Expensive for this hotel. No air conditioning in the rooms with this heatwave, luckily they provide water. Room 11 is under the roof. The food is not great, Niçoise salad is only in name and the tuna was forgotten, the salmon served as at home, the dessert was chocolate mousse, not chocolate flavor. Average hotel, not a 3 star. Very warm welcome - very good food
The location and the peace are excellent and we were well received by the lady. The restaurant and the garden are very well maintained. The hotel inside is old and urgently needs a makeover. Both in the hallways and in the room/bathroom. The maintenance was not okay. The floor was not clean. We slept there 4 nights and every day the room was "cleaned". The floor, mirrors and toilet were not clean.... The breakfast had not much choice and the coffee lukewarm. No spoons or jars for the jam, no knife for the bread. The lady put everything neatly but did not see that there was no cutlery. Eventually I went to get it from the cupboard.

We had a long cycle-ride before our stay at Hôtel le Manoir des Portes and its location by a lake and large rooms were very calming as was a drink or two on the terrace before a quick walk alongside the lake and then dinner outside overlooking the nice lawn. The food and wine (and breakfast the following day were very nice). They owners are very welcoming and engaging and we had fun. For me the high-point though was getting to know Virgo, the owners' delightful tortoiseshell cat - who made our trip perfect.
