Welcoming hotel, beautiful location, very pleasant room, impeccable cleanliness. The restaurant is more than delicious (Mmm... the foie gras!!)
If you're reading this, it's because you're looking for a Logis on the borders of the departments of Aube, Yonne, Côte d'Or or Haute Marne. A word of advice from a Logis enthusiast: look no further, you've come to the right place. Hurry and click on "book," you won't regret it. This hotel is quietly located in a charming, characterful village in the heart of the Côte des Bars. We were immediately captivated by the charming building, at the foot of which stands a terrace allowing us to enjoy the fresh air, even an aperitif or even our lunch or dinner. The house is very well maintained and meticulously clean. The spacious and pleasant room with very comfortable bedding is equipped with a beautiful, functional and bright bathroom. The generous breakfast with table service, very pleasant because this is becoming increasingly rare, is made up of local products including, among other things, a selection of excellent homemade jams. So, a big thumbs up for all the services, the warm welcome from the owner, the service, the comfort, the cleanliness, the facilities, the value for money, in short, zero faults. The best is saved for last: the restaurant. The room is very beautiful, just the way we like them, with white dominating, which is a change from the dark, even black, rooms with funeral home decor that we are unfortunately seeing more and more of. The spaced-out tables, promoting privacy, are all covered in white tablecloths (that too is becoming a luxury), and are served with a very beautiful table service. The service is provided by staff who are completely dedicated to the customers and is impeccable, without falling into the academic and even accompanied by a very pleasant touch of humor from the waiter. But the best is yet to come: The meal! Good God, it's good! An excellent menu, not too loaded, with mainly local products but also fish, as the chef's origin requires, all cooked with love and, above all, skill. It was fine, delicious and the icing on the cake, the hot dishes are skillfully presented on plates... hot! A detail you might say? Not so much, this is the ABC of cooking that many restaurateurs have forgotten. Le Magny proves to us once again that there is no need to frequent "starred" restaurants to benefit from very good cuisine. I almost forgot! The chef is a Maitre Restaurateur, which explains it. Dishes reheated on the microwave and bought from the agro-industry have no place at Le Magny. Everything is prepared in-house with fresh ingredients. Moreover, the owner of his place is not stingy with advice. As he was returning from the market and was already busy preparing lunch at 8:15 a.m., I allowed myself, through the window of the open kitchen, to ask him for some information about my Chaource starter from the previous evening... a "killer". I now have a few chef's "tips" that will certainly be useful to me. Last thing, if you choose the Magny, don't forget to try the Riceys rosé. Go there, good people, you won't be disappointed, as almost all the reviews that precede ours attest. Bravo to the whole team.
After a disappointing experience in June 2023, this second chance was a more than pleasant surprise. A lovely room, a friendly and professional welcome. A delicious dinner, a nice wine list with affordable wines, and a great breakfast.

The highlight of our visit was without doubt the restaurant—it is truly outstanding. Every dish was prepared with exceptional skill and creativity, showcasing locally sourced ingredients and paired perfectly with the region’s own champagne. The quality and presentation were impeccable, making each meal a memorable gourmet experience.
The warm hospitality of the team, the peaceful setting, and the dedication to using local produce all made our stay unforgettable. Hôtel Le Magny is a real gem in Les Riceys, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for both comfort and exquisite cuisine.

A lovely establishment that we've been frequenting for several years, thanks to the friendly welcome and the cuisine... worthy of a Michelin star. It's a magnificent location in a beautiful park with a welcoming terrace and swimming pool. The rooms are very comfortable, but it's a shame the kettle and coffee pods are missing. We recommend it without hesitation.
This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and everything was excellent, from the welcome to the departure.
We had a wonderful time at the Logis. The food was wonderful and the accommodation was very comfortable. We were very well looked after by all the staff. We will be back soon!

Located in a quiet village in a lesser known [to us] part of the champagne area, the hotel offered great parking and was quite pleasant throughout - the weather was too autumnal to enjoy the outside pool and garden. We found the location a convenient stopping point in our return journey to Calais. We appeared to be the only tourists staying in the hotel at this point in time; it was reassuring to see the restaurant attended by other patrons, and indeed the food was very good. Room and bed were comfortable, and the bathroom was equipped with the amenities expected. I would stay there again.
A well-kept establishment offering a comforting setting for a quiet night, in a singularly enormous village. Careful and tasty cuisine, without however the little touch of magic and originality which would have justified the price, still, in my opinion, quite high.

Ons 4de bezoek sedert +/- 10jaar. Altijd een leuke ervaring zeker op culinair gebied. De chef, die ook de baas est, oefent zijn talenten uit met meestal lokale produkten. Now you'll find some lokaal, put some Champagne and it's served by Les Riceys.

Excellent hotel. From the welcome to the comfort of the rooms and the restaurant, everything is taken care of. A beautiful terrace for lunch and dinner with a nice choice of champagne. When the sun is out, it's a very pleasant stopover.
"Very good" does not come near to expressing how excellent our stay was. We were told on our arrival that the hotel and restaurant were without electricity since the previous evening's thunderstorm had knocked out their supply, and the only estimate they had been given for a re-connection was "this evening" - which presumably could have extended to midnight. We were reluctant to abandon such welcoming people and we were exploring other possibilities for an evening meal when the lights came back on.
Monsieur Olivau then conjured up a menu for the 8 of us who remained, from what had not suffered from the power loss. We were told that he had performed a similar miracle the previous evening when power disappeared during the evening meal: what he managed to create had then been eaten by candlelight. And the following day things got even better.

Excellent quiet hotel, room (N°10) very functional, well appointed, clear bathroom, with a window, Italian shower. Very good restaurant. Attentive welcome from the owner. Ample parking. This “Logis” was a nice surprise.
Friendly reception. We were even offered another room so we wouldn't have to walk through the rain. Beautiful, spacious bedroom and shower room, finely finished and squeaky clean. Prices are slightly higher than we are used to. Restaurant: too expensive for what we got. We also found breakfast expensive.
