Very clean room, and restaurant with simple and good cuisine with quality products. Only the photos are a little dated, the garden and the swimming pool could do with a refresh

Very friendly welcome but the level of comfort is 2 stars rather than 3.
Very friendly welcome, comfortable room with a 160cm bed, large shower and not a ridiculous cubicle. I appreciated the small bottle of water in the room and the fan that was in use before my arrival. Too bad I didn't have time to see the pool.

Excellent hotel with very welcoming and helpful staff
We appreciated the soul of this cinema hotel, old but very well renovated to modern taste, very clean, very friendly welcome by the owner and her English husband also very jovial. Of course do not look for the perfection of a modern hotel, the parquet creaks a little but you feel so good there, the impressive breakfast, it lacks nothing, it can last you all day with its eggs, its cooked or cured ham, these excellent homemade jams and all these fruits and everything else. Pleasant swimming pool, green setting. Bring a mosquito plug anyway if you want to leave the shutters open! We really appreciated it and we must support these people who come to remote places to keep the villages alive, otherwise without them, there would be almost nothing left. BRAVO.

A chance choice on my way back from a February vacation in Brittany. A charming spot, although the weather was cold. A warm, family-friendly welcome. A must-do when the weather is nice to rediscover the region.
This is a very good hotel. The couple who run it are really welcoming and very friendly. The breakfast is complete with an extraordinary variety of fruits, hot drinks, fruit juices, dried fruits, cereals, pastries, etc. The only small downside: at the end of March, outside of school holidays, we were practically the only guests and we found the room a little cold. NB: we did not ask to use the Wi-Fi, the Bouygues public internet connection being very good.

Great hotel, the host, the hotel itself, the environment, everything contributes to making this establishment original and very endearing. The owner of the place seemed invested in his "work", wanting to share his tastes and his humanity. We felt in him a real sincerity and his selflessness. Bravo, continue.
Very well located in a small village away from the tourist crowds but close to many sites of interest and beautiful bike rides including the Veloroute de la vallée de l'Isle. The owners of this small family hotel are extremely kind and do everything to enhance your stay. Very good cuisine based on local products, foie gras, duck and sturgeon in particular. Good breakfast (including homemade jam and walnut bread, a delight) served in a pretty little room which has kept the spirit of the inn of yesteryear. A very pleasant swimming pool surrounded by greenery and a shaded garden allow you to relax after the visits. Absolute calm and complete darkness at night, you can sleep with the window wide open...or prefer to observe the stars!

Would strongly recommend Le Lion d'Or which is peacefully located, with a very friendly welcome from the hosts, and simple but comfortable rooms at a very reasonable cost. We had an excellent dinner, strong on local ingredients which were handled with skill and flair, in a delightful outdoor setting.
Exceptional stay. We were delighted to find this hotel in this small village. A real paradise. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. A bucolic garden, a swimming pool surrounded by greenery, pleasant, comfortable and quiet room. The restaurant offers local specialties (dishes and drinks) cooked with taste. Although the accommodation was basic it was spotlessly clean and adequate. The bed was comfortable with good bedding. We had been previously before Covid and knew what to experience. Both the patron and his wife were excellent hosts, and the standard of catering provided by the host’s wife was simply excellent - which was one of the reasons we returned. We were not disappointed on that front! 5 Star!
