My only complaint, if I may, is the quality of the pastries. They don't come straight from the bakery, and the waffles aren't very good. The bread, however, is excellent.
Very warm welcome, comfortable hotel. The breakfast is quite extraordinary because of the huge choice. We travel quite often in 3 or 4 * hotels but a special mention for this breakfast with many kinds of cakes, jams, yogurts, creams (caramel, peanut, chocolate) and other products (impossible to list everything) of which the vast majority are homemade by the owners of the establishment. To recommend without hesitation!!

We were disappointed with the room we booked, which didn't quite match the website photos. The room was dated, cramped, plainly decorated, and directly overlooked the road, which made it a bit noisy. You could also hear your neighbors. Given the price, we expected something different. However, the welcome was friendly and the breakfast was pleasant, which partly offset our disappointment.
Thank you for taking the time to share your impressions. We regret that the room assigned did not entirely meet your expectations. However, we would like to point out that all of our rooms are presented on our website with photos that are accurate to reality.
Since your reservation was made only three days before your arrival, and what's more, during the busiest week of summer, the selection of available rooms was necessarily limited. By booking earlier, you could have selected a different room category, more in line with your preferences.
The room you have occupied is part of the authenticity of our family home: it is furnished with genuine antique Alpine furniture passed down for three generations, a heritage that many of our guests appreciate precisely for its charm and history.
Regarding noise, some rooms overlook the village and others the river; you can let us know your preferences when booking and we always do our best to accommodate them, subject to availability.
We are glad that you nevertheless appreciated the warm welcome from our team as well as our breakfast by the river.

In our case, it was a temporary hotel. We were unable to enjoy the spa. However, the location was ideal, with a (huge!) breakfast by the river. The rooms were rather simple but functional. A small drawback: the hotel parking lot closes at 10 p.m. That's early in the summer :-)

Regarding parking, it is secure and is one of the reasons why many guests choose us. As we are located in the center of the village, most restaurants are less than a 10-minute walk away. For our guests who are booking dinner in Briançon or meeting friends/family in the evening, we recommend parking in the free municipal parking lot located directly across from the hotel.

Very well located hotel next to the old village, the room overlooked the river. The room could be ok, even if the dimensions indicated include the entire attic area too low to walk in. But the sliding door of the closet, coming off the rail, made a horrible noise and the shower, installed in the bathtub without a wall or curtain, did not allow use without flooding the rest of the bathroom, very small. BUT the worst is the lack of service which spoiled our stay. The owner asked us for our room number 3 days in a row at breakfast, without a hello or a smile. I found a carton of almost empty vegetable milk which I finished. The next day, no offer of vegetable air and when I asked the owner if I could have some, he told me that there was no more and I did not find any more until the end of the stay. Finally, as I was bringing two glasses up to the room, which only had two paper cups in the bathroom, he stopped me and asked why I was bringing HIS glasses. We had an argument because his tone was so unpleasant. After 3 nights, the towels still hadn't been changed, and when I asked reception when they would be, I was told that THEY respected the environment and thought of their grandchildren, and that if the guests didn't ask, the towels weren't changed. Except that here, there was no little sign to indicate this, and the bath mat, soaked from the unprotected shower, remained constantly damp. After all that, just to point out that the soap reservoir was never refilled and that on the 5th morning, it was empty! We were left with the unpleasant impression of meanness towards guests disguised as ecological concern. The room was €150, breakfast €15, which is very disappointing value for money, especially compared to our other experiences in the group's hotels.
Of course, there's always a dissatisfied customer, even when the vast majority leave delighted. The great reviews left on our website and platforms confirm this, particularly for breakfast, the welcome, and our family atmosphere. We don't claim to be perfect—it doesn't exist—but we do our best every day with a smile... as long as we're left with one too 😉.
You note that the room was okay, then you judge the price excessive? In addition, you hadn't planned to have breakfast and you ended up having it for three days, which clearly shows that you liked it 😉. The room number requested at breakfast is simply a question of organization with 40 to 50 people in the room. Especially since you hadn't reserved this service at the start and you came every other day: it was therefore normal for us to check.
The cups in the room are not paper but cardboard 🌍, and glass cups were of course available upon request. As for the shower gel, it can happen that you forget it, but just let us know and we would have replaced it immediately.
As for towels, true regular travelers know: they must be left in the shower or bathtub to be replaced. These are hotel codes that you apparently didn't know about. There's nothing petty about it; it's an ecological gesture that we proudly assume—for our children and grandchildren. Moreover, "just like at home," we don't change towels every day unless guests request it. Most of our guests understand this very well, and it shows their true sense of ecology and civic responsibility.
You see the negative where many find simplicity, warmth, and generosity. For our part, we believe that life is more beautiful when we choose to enjoy the positive things 🌞 rather than constantly looking for what's wrong. It starts with the attitude we decide to adopt ourselves.
We sincerely wish you more serenity for your future stays — it will also be good for your heart ❤. We will continue to prioritize simplicity, friendliness, and smiles, because that's what our customers truly appreciate.
Friendly welcome, very good staff, but very noisy hotel, busy road, window open at night because of the heat and no air conditioning, and room not soundproofed, bathroom, WC, etc.

We understand your concerns, but it's rare—if not impossible—to find air-conditioned hotels in Serre Chevalier, especially in the 3-star category. If air conditioning is essential, it's best to look at hotels on the Mediterranean coast, where the temperatures truly require it.
Regarding soundproofing, it is true that an authentic building like ours cannot offer the same standards as a modern construction, but many of our customers appreciate this traditional and family charm.

Between each season, we carry out the necessary work to maintain and renovate the building, which requires constant care. Regarding the bedding, we would like to point out that the mattresses are of professional hotel quality and changed every two years. Many loyal customers, who have been returning for decades, can attest to this.

Our stay was not planned; we needed a more comfortable haven than our campervan could offer before being repatriated after my husband started to suffer from unexpected and severe nerve pain. We could not have been better looked after by the entire Christiania team in a lovely environment, from start to finish. Pretty good value for money. The maintenance leaves something to be desired: water leak on the bathroom radiator, sink faucet unscrews, shower support unscrews!! Some maintenance work needed! Drinks at the bar are very expensive: €16 for a small coffee, 1 glass and 1/3 of génépi is excessive!

However, we would have appreciated if you had reported any technical issues encountered during your stay, or at least upon your departure. We have noted the bathroom issues. However, being in the middle of high season with a full hotel, it is very difficult to carry out major maintenance work at this time. For minor technical issues, we can intervene quickly if our guests inform us during their stay.
Regarding the bar drinks, you ordered a coffee and a glass and a half of génépi, a very high-quality digestif that generally costs around €9 a glass in the valley. There has been a general increase in drinks at the bar, which remains a great experience for those who like to treat themselves during their stay.
We nevertheless hope that you had a pleasant stay at Serre Chevalier (La Salle Les Alpes).

Good "ski" or "hike" hotel but the room is very basic, bathroom is even more basic and the bed's a too hard. For the rest nice decoration of the hotel (ski style) and "good" hotel for a short stay at good price

The bedroom ceiling shows signs of old water infiltration. The soundproofing is very inadequate, which affects comfort. An additional electrical outlet on the other side of the bed would also be appreciated. Regarding the bathroom, the lack of a shower curtain results in flooding every time the bathtub is used, making bathing particularly difficult.

It's a good thing you had breakfast (which wasn't even included in your reservation) and you found it very good... otherwise we don't dare imagine the rating you would have given us 😄! Regarding the ceiling, we did indeed have a big problem with water infiltration at the beginning of the season in another room (much more affected than yours). We haven't had time to repaint it yet, but the marks are very light and frankly, what a PITY to look at a ceiling rather than enjoying the beautiful view of the river, listening to the birds singing and the soothing sound of the water 😉! Regarding the shower curtain, you're right, we're in the process of equipping all the bathrooms, it's coming, it's coming... soon... In any case, we find your rating very harsh... Holidays are also meant to enjoy and let go a little, aren't they? 😄 We still hope that you'll have good memories of your stay.

Regarding the window, we checked and it opens perfectly: you just have to turn the handle completely to do it.
As for the bathroom, our triple rooms are equipped with a bathtub with a flexible shower head. If you prefer a walk-in shower, we have twin rooms that are equipped with one.
We also thank you for your comment regarding the lighting in the third bed. We will be making some changes to the wiring. Please note that a cordless lamp is available at reception if needed.

We spent two nights. The location is great, two minutes walk from the Aravet ski lifts and close to restaurants. The room is classic and the bedding is very good. The breakfast is simply perfect and the setting is great (beautiful veranda). I recommend!

We love his hotel and have been coming here for many years. It's cozy, super friendly, very clean, very comfortable and has great facilities. It's not modern or stylish but warm, rustic and full of atmosphere, antiques and memories from the history of the area. The Paul family who run the hotel make it extra special and care so much about every client's comfort and satisfaction with their stay. The location of the hotel is also extremely convenient - right in the center of Serre Chevalier and a 5 minute walk from the nearest ski lifts. I cannot recommend this hotel more highly.

3 night stay in September: despite the end of the summer season, justifying the closure of their restaurant for this period, very good experience in this warm hotel respecting the mountain setting. The rooms are well maintained and the breakfast buffet is excellent.
Great welcome on arrival and departure, attentive to the customer, always with a smile. What I found nice was the breakfast with products made on site.
This hotel did not meet the 3 stars it was purported to have. Outside was very untidy. Inside, first impressions were of a typical alpine hotel. However our room was very disappointing. It was small, the sliding wardrobe doors were off the rails. There was no ventilation other than opening the doors to the balcony, but as we were next to a busy road this was not an option. The bathroom was very basic. We had the impression it has been a long time since any money was spent on maintaining this hotel, and as for any inspection by Logis, I doubt there has been any since it first came under their brand. We are becoming more and more disappointed with Logis hotels and will choose other brands in the future.

Good location with private parking for cars and a bicycle storage room. Close to all amenities. Room quite comfortable. A small detail, there is no way to make tea or herbal tea in the evening in your room, the bar closes at 8 p.m. The soundproofing is average. If your neighbor is not discreet and speaks in a normal voice at midnight, you can hear him clearly. A small shower curtain in the bathroom would be a good idea. The staff is welcoming and smiling, the atmosphere is cozy.

Super nice owners and a great location in the town! In the evening I had a great meal in a small restaurant in the town! The monitored parking lot offers good security, especially for motorcyclists! The breakfast the next morning was amazing, a great selection, nothing was left to be desired!

The SPA and massages are a plus, I really enjoyed my treatments. The slopes are nearby and easy to access. Everything is done at Christiania to have an excellent stay.

The breakfasts are excellent (fresh fruit juices, jams, compotes, homemade cakes, very good coffee) all in an authentic Alpine chalet setting in which you feel good. The bathroom could do with a little updating but that's it... the room is cozy and comfortable. Very good experience!
