Where the Aisne and the Oise meet, at the edge of the majestic forests. Compiègne is in the heart of the Compiégnois countryside. A Royal and Imperial town, the setting for major events in French history. The Château, town hall, churches and museums are evidence of its history dating back over a thousand years, which visitors can browse as they choose. Having witnessed two conflicts in the 20th century, Compiègne is the location for the great Armistice Clearing (1918) and the painful Royal-lieu campsite (from 1941 to 1945). Compiègne, a horse town, has outstanding facilities (racecourse, equestrian stadium). For our golfing friends, Château d’Humières golf course is less than 10 minutes away.

Apart from the restaurant which is really too good, the rooms (at least the 16) needs a real facelift. Old-fashioned decor, scary bathroom, hole in the walls, marked bathtub… no hot water pressure, rising kebab smells just below which prevents you from keeping the window open at night… The super nice staff despite everything quickly forget that :-)

We are very disappointed with your hotel already for having reserved a superior room and to find ourselves in a very small standard room defined by your colleagues and moreover on the very noisy street side... Not slept all night. Cold all night. Even a kettle to make tea or coffee like you can find in other lodgings in France*** of the same level. Fortunately, the catering was up to par, congratulations to the chef... But alas, that won't make us come back.

Very noisy neighborhood, due to the behavior of people in the street late at night
No room light in the room, no usable wardrobe, sanitary objects very old and in bad condition. Very little water came out of the faucet in the sink.
Disappointed ! Why three stars? Small room, no connection to the bathroom, noisy, or poorly soundproofed, and the evening meal well below the quality paid for this service, and the icing on the cake, paid parking, €10!
For tourism but not for people in the evening stopover the service is long rooms to renovate no razor socket…
Old hotel (with all the little inconveniences that go with it, refreshments to be expected in places, heating, elevator broken down, etc.) but a much warmer atmosphere than a chain hotel. Extremely friendly, professional and available staff. We ate at the restaurant (Menu Elisa) and it was very good. I recommend this hotel to travelers looking for that kind of “authentic” atmosphere.
