We received a very warm welcome. A breakfast was excellent and the accommodation was more than adequate for how competitively priced the Hotel was. Perfect for an overnight stay or for a few nights exploring in the area. Very clean and comfortable, and access to the room and check out was easy.
Aux antipodes des Logis Hôtels... Le lieu est charmant, beau, en pleine nature. Cependant, il est à peu près dépourvu de ce qui fait l'image typique de Logis Hôtel: le sens du service, la qualité de la nourriture, d'inspiration régionale, la compétence hôtelière. Aucune des 2 personnes à qui nous avons eu affaire n'est professionnelle, aucune n'est au service du client.
Le Logis Domaine de Chatenay est une résidence bourgeoise où la châtelaine vous reçoit d'un "Bonjour" et vous demande si vous avez payé (??) , montre la chambre puis disparaît. Pas de réception dans cet "hôtel", pas de personnel.
Au petit-déjeuner, servi dans les pièces les plus petites et les moins belles du rez-de-chaussée, on est prié de se servir au "buffet" (une table d'1,30m de diamètre avec jambon et fromage de supermarché, fruit frais et en salade, yaourt, céréales), assez proche d'un hôtel 3 étoiles de chaîne française. Une dame apporte à table "le panier" contenant pain, pain au chocolat, croissant. Elle semble très satisfaite et fait sentir que le service du client n'est pas son obsession: lorsque je m'enquiers d'une fourchette (qui ne fait pas partie des couverts de table), elle me conduit vers la pièce voisine et me la montre du doigt... Puis elle disparaît.
Peu avant notre départ, je cherche de salon en salon quelqu'un à qui régler la note, et dit à mon épouse: "Il n'y a personne." Alors la dame sort d'un réduit de l'entrée et m'apostrophe: "Mais si, je suis là !"
Un avantage indéniable à noter: à moins de 140 euros TTC la belle chambre et le petit-déjeuner, c'est un B&B satisfaisant.
Pour que ce soit un Logis Hotel, la marge de progression est considérable.

A very good experience. The Chatenay estate is very pleasant and retains an elegant charm. We received a very warm welcome during our stay. We recommend this Logis Hotel.
We chose this hotel as a stopover between the ferry port at Caen and our destination. The reasons for choosing it were that it is not far from our route, but in a quiet countryside location.
The accommodation is typically rustic French with a lot of character and history. We enjoyed our evening stroll to see the lake and the resident donkey and goat.
The host went out of her way to ensure that we had everything that we needed and the breakfast was really well presented and plentiful.
Thank you to the host for making our short stay so enjoyable and relaxing.

The welcome and the location were pleasant. The Safari and Comfort Twin rooms were outdated; the silicone and tile grout needed replacing. The exchange for a Prestige room with a moat view wasn't mentioned, which was a shame. Breakfast was satisfactory.

A grand traditional country house of great character in quiet rural surroundings - with charming and welcoming hosts who went out of their way to accommodate us. Perfect for a couple, or family with children. We greatly enjoyed our short stay and hope to return to explore the area in more detail.

A pleasant surprise during my business trip. This beautiful home is full of charm, cleanliness, a beautiful bathroom, and a comfortable bed. The meal tray offered by the owner is not just any meal, but a truly good, complete, high-quality, homemade meal. I'll be back on my next visit, well done.
This is a lovely place to stay. Despite being very close to Le Mans it is in a tranquil setting and the accommodation very comfortable, in a historic building. The breakfast is wonderful, with a plentiful range of choices.
Atypical charming residence. Very good bedding. The meal tray as well as the breakfast were of very good quality and plentiful. I highly recommend.

Great environment but difficult to find
This is a wonderful small family hotel set in its own grounds in an ideal position for the North/ South ~Traveller, especially with Pets. It is run by a Mother and son team who welcomed us and looked after us incredibly well. The rooms are beautifully decorated in a wide variety of themes and bed arrangements. The breakfast was lovely with a wide range of foods on offer.
The only small downside to the hotel is that it doesn't cater for an evening meal. However the owners booked us a table at a local restaurant, 10 minutes drive away which was fine.
We would thoroughly recommend this hotel to all travellers.

The room was cold, as was the breakfast room, and it smelled musty and unpleasant.

Domaine du Chatenay is fast becoming a home from home for me and my dog Juniper. It is our preferred stopover en route from the UK to the Pyrenees and back and never disappoints. Beautiful tranquil environment, friendly welcome, delightful room and wonderful walks for Juniper. She is so excited when she arrives as she recognises where she is. Thank you for making our stopover something to look forward to. And thank you for a superb breakfast this morning. I can’t recommend highly enough.
