The owners are friendly, the place is superb, don't forget to take a few lengths in the swimming pool, also in the troglodytes, hearty breakfast with local products.

Very friendly setting and super pleasant staff, good advice, excellent local products for the breakfast buffet, nothing to complain about, we had a pleasant time.

The only thing missing is a small coffee maker in the room.

We rented 2 different rooms, the 5-person troglodyte room, superb, nothing to complain about. The Ocean room was very nice except in the bathroom. The radiator and door handle were changed and we found 2 bedbugs and 2 caterpillars before going to bed. Otherwise, very good bedding.

Gift from our daughter for our respective birthdays. We were very well received in this unusual and quiet place. Spacious troglodyte room n°10 where we spent a peaceful night in a very large bed. It is really enjoyable to enjoy an extra breakfast mainly favoring organic, homemade products, from local producers, sweet/savory. Congratulations! The troglodyte swimming pool makes you live a wonderful experience. Small heating problem but that did not prevent us from doing several lengths (temperature 22 instead of 27 so it works without problem !!!). Finally, a nice attention awaited us in the room as a welcome. Thank you again for the recommendation of the restaurant l'Hélianthe in Turquant (exceptional!)

Fascinating place with very comfortable room, all very peaceful and beautiful.

We stayed in the family cave suite. It was nice and clean. There was no shower however, just a bathtub with a sprayer. We sprayed water everywhere! The manager was nice and a 1/2 bottle of wine was waiting for us in the room. We didnt get a chance to enjoy the pool. The driveway was very narrow so no big cars! Breakfast was good. The wifi wasn't good in the rooms but it was a cave so it's expected. The twin beds in one of the rooms were horrible! Spring loaded mattresses. The other bed was very hard

Booked on the strength of the shot of the pool in the caves, but so much more to it than that, several of the rooms are half-built in caves, and gives a very unusual setting. Very warm welcome, dinner was arranged at the nearby Bistro, and there was a bottle of wine in the room as a welcome.

Original character of the whole, beautiful location. Friendly and present owner, original swimming pool but better to avoid peak hours! The suite with its old-fashioned and comfortable side is very nice, an upgrade of the bathroom would be desirable. Breakfast is an absolute must, the care taken with local or even homemade products is a must. Unfortunately wifi connection impossible in our room. We will return with pleasure.

we had a big weekend with the family for a birthday. There were 9 of us and we were superbly received. The best part of this hotel is still the welcome, the host is always present and there to help ensure a good stay. And of course the hotel itself is exceptional, the rooms spacious, the breakfast top notch. Strong recommendation for epicureans.

We had a very delightful stay: uncomplicated arrival and formalities, big room with tasteful and individual interior, comfortable big bed, everything was clean and neat, not brand new but well maintained. The amazing troglodyte pool, the excellent welcome bottle of wine and the outstanding breakfast with fresh, plenty and local products are a must (don't miss it). Very friendly and helpful English speaking owners. Highly recommended. It may not be the cheap an option around but for us it was totally worth it. Thank you!

We booked a night's stay at Logis Hôtel Demeure de la Vignole as a treat after two weeks camping around France. We were overwhelmed by the beauty and unique character of the etablishment. We booked the apartment so we would have plenty of space to relax and it was a truly magical experience to sleep in an authentic troglodyte dwelling. A definite highlight was the cave swimming pool, directly across from our room.

Excellent address, this is the second stay for us and we intend to come back, enjoy the troglodyte swimming pool, the terrace and its garden which could not be more pleasant, a haven of calm in the heart of the vineyards. The host received us with attention, the breakfast is very good and plentiful with mainly local products. The rooms are spacious and pleasant, the bedding is good and suitable (for us). However the shower is lacking, the bathtub is not what we appreciate the most. Apart from this detail, we have nothing to complain about. The terrace is a big plus for enjoying a glass of wine in the evening or a breakfast in the early morning. We recommend this place, the village and the surrounding area.

We spent 2 nights as a couple in a troglodyte room. It was simply exceptional. As for the swimming pool, it's the first time we've seen such an atypical one, with water heated to 28°. The owner of the place took great care. We had the chance to have a delicious breakfast in the shade of the olive tree. It is with pleasure that we will come back and perhaps spend a night or two there. Ps: just remember to water your aloe vera every 15 days. Lol

very good hotel, original, difficult to access wi fi because the hotel is a troglodyte.

It was a wonderful experience. Our host was warm and friendly and very helpful. The grounds are beautiful and the building is so interesting with a scenic view. Our room (one of the cave rooms) was so cosy and comfortable. The bed was amazing. We really enjoyed the option to swim in the pool at any time and loved how the pool was situated right outside our bedroom. So accessible and altogether unique.
Next morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast on the patio and felt very sad to leave this unforgettable hotel.

The hotel is faithful to what one expects of a troglodyte establishment and an in-ground swimming pool... this one is impressive and very pleasant. The room was very large, with a small private terrace adjoining. The welcome with a small bottle of local wine is particularly appreciable. The establishment as a whole is extremely pleasant. The host is like his establishment: very welcoming, very helpful, taking great care of his customers, caring about how the nights went, the meals in the local restaurants, which he recommends to elsewhere perfectly good...! Just a slight downside for me but which will not prevent us from coming back with great pleasure: the breakfast lacks fresh fruit and non-sweet products (cereals in particular...) Otherwise, it is complete and well stocked with products mainly local. The pastries come from a local bakery... moreover, if there are any left, the host offers them for "snack time" for little ones but also for older ones! Thank you for this great time...

Welcoming host, present and very friendly. The troglodyte habitat remains exceptional and the setting is very pretty! The strong musty smell linked to the troglodyte habitat of the Marguerite d'Anjou suite should be noted. There are perhaps ways to mask it a little (essential oils, incense, etc.) It is annoying and overwhelming at first. Then you get used to it and end up not feeling it anymore. the swimming pool is quite beautiful and deserves a few degrees warmer and more careful surroundings. Water treatment may be a little too dosed in chore

Very pleasant stay in this hotel, however we chose it for its swimming pool which is open in winter but closed by a tarpaulin and therefore not very accessible given the outside temperatures. She'd better be closed because it's a bit of smoke and mirrors.

The welcome was pleasant. Our host welcomed us kindly; he showed us the places, explained how to access the swimming pool. Bathrobes and slippers were waiting for us in our room without any extras. As well as a bottle of Champigny wine from a neighboring winegrower was offered to us. Nice attention. He recommended a restaurant in the village of Turquant, which was excellent by the way. I recommend.

Huge disappointment; certainly from the outside it's very beautiful, but the room we had... It's not normal to keep this kind of room open; to be sure that it doesn't come from me or to think that I'm nitpicking, I have a friend in the hotel industry who was just as outraged just by seeing these photos and I quote "we close this type of room and it doesn't reopen not until it's renovated"; So to explain the dissatisfaction: the first thing that stands out is the smell. That it smells of old stone, normal, but old moldy/damp stone no (to clarify, we were not in a troglodite room but were housed in a room next to the reception in a stone building, pretty exterior however). Second thing: it follows from the first point, mold present here and there in the corners of the room and in the bathroom. Being allergic to mold (among other things), I had a few asthma attacks, and my partner discovered that it also made his airways tingle (he was not allergic to his knowledge). The furniture (especially a shelf in the bathroom) suffers from deterioration due to this humidity + the bathroom joints are all very black. There is also the shower head which was rusty and dirty. I quickly pass over the toilet with a yellowish bowl (something very easily replaceable) which gives a very unhygienic appearance even if it was cleaned. Third point, the numerous cobwebs; so numerous and dense that they were not woven the very morning of our arrival... (bonus, with a rather large spider who made sure we were well settled and slept well). Fourth dissatisfaction: the swimming pool, green and slippery moss all along it; with the addition of a very present smell of urine; + cold water normally heated to "28-30°"). When we briefly mentioned mold and allergies, the manager replied "are you sure it's not just dust?" or even “I too am allergic to mold and I don’t have asthma though”. In short, big disappointment and a lack of understanding regarding the ratings of this establishment.

The troglodyte pool is a big plus. Unfortunately, we had to bear the presence of many insects in the room (midges, butterflies, bugs), despite the doors being closed. Quite strange: they disappear the guard...

The setting of the hotel is original but a little disappointed with the services of this establishment. The quality of cleanliness is just ok with an impression that the room has not been done properly or for some time. The television only works on certain channels and in average quality, the remote control is out of order and the Wi-Fi is absent from the room, you have to go to the terrace for a fairly low speed. The swimming pool makes you want on their site but once there a very strong smell of closing and still a cleanliness to be reviewed. However, this establishment has a lot of charm but it seems a little lacking in investment from the owners.

Super place to stay. We had a family apartment. Kids loved to pools and the cave experience. They compared it to Luke Skywalker’s uncles place on Tatooine! Glad there was no gist from the empire😂

We loved the quality breakfast on the beautiful terrace, the general environment on the side of the cliff, the possibility of cooling off in the swimming pool, the access on foot to the village for the restaurants. Possible improvement: non-troglodyte room without air conditioning (faulty fan with strange noise), the surroundings of the swimming pool (storage, decoration), refurbishment in the room (paint that curdles, toilet that moves).

Lovely hotel! Usually, we go to the hotel just to lodge for the night. There, with its magnificent troglodyte swimming pool, the hotel was an attraction as much as the activities done during the day in the surroundings. We particularly appreciated the welcome 👍 We did not have swimsuits the manager provided us with some, he directed us to a local specialty restaurant 2 steps from the establishment, a cellar in a castle built in the rock at the end of its path, and initially strongly advised us to visit 2 castles built on top of each other. This was our third time staying at the Logis Hôtel Demeure de la Vignole (2004, 2022 and 2023). Each time we have stayed in a different room and each was excellent and individually decorated. The ambiance of this hotel is special and captivating with chateau-like buildings backed up against former troglodyte caves (some of which which are now are stunning hotel rooms and a magical swimming pool). Even with all of this what sets this place apart are the hosts, a husband and wife team with a kindness and touch seldom seen. They make each of their guests feel at home and cared about. This house is like no other and we chose it for its originality and on the basis of the photos we had seen. We were not disappointed, quite the contrary. Accueil chaleureux, disponibilité, charme et originalité des lieux. Chambre spacieuse et confortable. Excellents petits-déjeuners buffet. Très jolie terrasse et jardin. Beaucoup de calme. Et emplacement idéal pour visiter cette belle région. Voilà tout ce qu'il faut pour un excellent séjour, que nous avons pu prolonger par la lecture d'un roman dont la trame se passe dans le manoir.

A lovely location a little walk away from the village where we ate at an excellent restaurant recommended by the hotel manager. Enjoyed the delicious breakfast, with local specialties, on the terrace. In the cave is a swimming pool with heated water, what a special atmosphere! Good tips for renting bicycles to cycle along the Loire river, and through the narrow streets of the surrounding villages with a visit to a wine tasting. Definitely recommended!
