No one was at reception upon arrival or departure; everything was done via intercom. I had to pay myself using the card reader. I couldn't get my ETIK card credited. The meal was good, homemade, but reheated. For the past three years, I've booked overnight stays at Logis hotels, and this is the first one that has disappointed me so much.
A boss who puts his heart into it; a very good evening
Lovely big clean and warm space for the whole family, although slightly quirky layout.
The overal experience was thoroughly enjoyable although certainly 'unique'. A willingness to embrace the hospitality and cultural experience extended by the landlord will ensure an enjoyable and entertaining stay. The restaurant and breakfast food was excellent quality and very good value and the live musical accompanyment something never to be forgotten. A bit of spoken French will help although not critical as the landlord has mastered google translate. Enjoy.
Excellent. Well done, Alain.
After an extremely long drive back from the mountains on our way to the ferry home, we arrived at the Logie hopeful for a quaint, charming French rustic stay, exactly as portrayed on the website.
Unfortunately, there is a very fine line between rustic and catastrophic, and this place landed firmly on the wrong side of it.
Even before entering, alarm bells rang. Despite two large stone lions guarding the entrance, we drove into a muddy car park while a ferocious dog barked wildly at the gate. Inside, we were greeted by a man who appeared to have come straight from roadworks, covered in what looked suspiciously like excrement, who acknowledged us with little more than a grunt. Upon giving our name, he silently pointed at a key on a desk, gestured vaguely towards the garden, and disappeared.
The gardens — which online appear manicured and idyllic — resembled the aftermath of an abandoned festival. Chairs and tables strewn everywhere, old barbecues left plugged in on the lawn, a large unplugged fountain featuring a reclining naked woman leaning at an alarming angle, and what initially appeared to be a dead pigeon (later discovered to be a decoy) lying upside down in the grass.
Finding our room became an adventure in itself, as many door numbers were missing. After some detective work, we located the family room.
Opening the door revealed what looked like the aftermath of a party that nobody had cleaned up. The sofa bed was stained, the bathroom door had no handle or lock and appeared to have been kicked in, and the second bedroom lacked curtains and contained marks best not examined too closely. Opening the window revealed not a charming rural view but a chaotic farmyard scene — mud, a broken-down car, roaming geese and chickens, and an overwhelming smell that required immediate window closure.
Moments later came the final straw: a loud scream as an enormous black goat suddenly appeared at the window staring directly into the room.
We returned to reception to request alternative accommodation. To be fair, the owner did try to help and moved us to two other rooms, which were marginally better — though still far from acceptable, with beds containing hairs that strongly suggested they had not been freshly prepared.
Dinner was advertised as a fixed three-course menu (€27), with no choice. That evening’s offering, we were informed, was essentially three courses of horse — not ideal when travelling with a vegetarian child.
We therefore set off to find somewhere else to eat, which proved challenging given the Logie appears to be located entirely in the middle of nowhere. Options were few and far between. We eventually found a lovely-looking Italian restaurant called El Pesto, where the staff were charming and welcoming — sadly, as seemingly the only restaurant within a hundred miles, they were fully booked and had to turn us away.
Eventually, we stumbled across a truck-stop burger restaurant called O Petty Crew, which in hindsight turned out to be the highlight of the evening. Upon arriving, we were reassured to see another English family from the Logie also turn up — clearly fellow guests who, like us, had not read the Google reviews beforehand and had similarly decided they were not in the mood for horse that evening.
The restaurant itself was run by a genuinely lovely family, the food — particularly the pizza — was excellent, and the hospitality warm and welcoming. If you do find yourself reading this review having already arrived at the Logie, I would strongly recommend seeking this place out. Be warned, however, they do not serve alcohol — which you may very much feel you need once you realise you’ll be returning to sleep at the Logie.
Only afterwards did we read the Google reviews. In hindsight, we should have done this sooner — they are entirely accurate.
This place is undeniably memorable, and in retrospect almost funny. However, arriving late at night exhausted and simply wanting a clean, comfortable stopover, it was a complete disaster.
Avoid.
Excellent welcome from Alain, the owner of the place, who served us delicious cuisine made with local produce.
Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay. We were the only guests in the hotel, we had a lovely dinner, and as an added bonus, we were treated to a mini-concert with Alain at the helm. An unforgettable evening. Champagne was offered at the end of the meal. Thank you, Alain, for your generosity and your love for your hotel and restaurant. Just one suggestion: make an effort with the breakfast—an electric citrus juicer instead of a small, manual plastic one. The pastries were inedible (too oily). But if I have the opportunity to return to the area, I will definitely stop by again.
A pleasant discovery during a quick stop on the way to England. The atmosphere was charming and refined, and the dinner was delicious, featuring produce grown by the outgoing and friendly owner, who sang a couple of Aznavour-style songs and offered us four glasses of his own champagne! It will definitely become a regular stop on our trip. Suggestion for improvement: more counter space in the bathroom and a few more towels.
The hotel was quiet and the owners opened the restaurant just for us, the food was delicious and very good value, the owner played fun music while we enjoyed a lovely relaxing evening, we will definitely return.
Warm welcome. The owner is exceptional. I wholeheartedly recommend this place.
We had a comfotable room and a great meal
Excellent welcome, the owner is super friendly and attentive to the customer
Nobody at reception - ”collect your own keys”. Cold, unheated room (took 2 hours to warm up). Minimal furnishing. Shower in bedroom space. Shower doors broken. Uncomfortable pillows. Floor cleaning during breakfast session. Horrible music (live) over dinner. WiFi patchy. Lights turned off to encourage me to finish my dinner! Dinner was good with plenty of choice.
Disappointed
Warm and rustic atmosphere
We did not have a good experience. Some of this was not the fault of the staff. When we arrived, our room had no electricity which was quickly fixed. However, there was also no water. which We only discovered after we had unpacked. We had to change rooms, which was annoying as we were very tired from driving. We had booked the wheelchair room but were given room 18, which is a much smaller room. When we paid next day, I pointed out that we were being charged 150 euros i.e. the cost of the wheelchair suite, although it clearly states room 18 on our bill. I thought the lady said this was because we had asked for the wheelchair room when we booked but we weren't being charged for it. When I later checked prices on the website, we were clearly overcharged by a considerable amount.
The pool was closed without prior notice, despite the website stating it would only be closed from January to March 2020. The room was difficult to access due to a rickety staircase, and the ceiling was so low that even a short person would hit their head. The heating was broken, there was a sewer smell in the bathroom, and the towels were old and frayed. The only positive was the dinner, although it was spoiled by a singing waiter who should have stuck to serving wine.
A farm inn with a friendly welcome, but quite far from the expected Logis standards. The room needs to be cleaned (cobwebs, no soap in the bathroom dispenser). No written notice of a fairly ordinary meal served in a concert hall, despite the friendliness of the winegrower-singer owner promoting his violet champagne.
Difficult to make an objective comment. Very nice owner and staff. Room quite large but poorly cleaned (dust everywhere). Unprofessional and uncomfortable bedding, pillows too thick make for a terrible night. Meals without paper menu so no thought or choice possible especially for foreigners who do not understand well. We do not know what we are going to eat. Pleasant restaurant room when all of a sudden the owner starts at the keyboard to sing and accompany playlists. Nice but we can no longer hear ourselves speak in the room. In the end not a bad memory In the end we wonder why Logis de France listed this establishment in its catalog! Not at all in line with the philosophy of the brand.
Excellent stay at the Relais de Fleurette! We had a very spacious family room, the evening meal was excellent with many choices and quality products. Mr. Braconnier, the owner, is very kind, generous and helps make the evening unforgettable thanks to his entertainment. We recommend it without hesitation.
Very welcoming and kind staff. Lovely, friendly atmosphere.
No one to greet me at reception, just a key on the counter. Water running every 20/30 minutes during the night. Cleanliness left something to be desired with cobwebs in the stairwell and questionable bedding.
Simple hotel, traditional cuisine, excellent welcome and very nice atmosphere in the evening. I recommend Small improvement suggested: a real coffee machine for breakfast, like those we see more and more in hotels and which offer espresso, latte, cappuccino ... etc. But I admit that I am difficult about this and that a good coffee in the morning is essential for me
Hotel and restaurant in a quiet little village. The room is simple but comfortable. The welcome is very friendly and the host adds a pleasant touch to the stay.
The room was fine, but I would have preferred a room with a balcony. The owner offered to change rooms, but I was already settled in. It seems a shame not to allocate these rooms first—there were only two occupied rooms that Sunday night.
Alain is so cool
Hello, When I arrived in the room, the pillowcases were completely wrinkled. In the bathroom, there was no bath mat. Dinner: Good Breakfast: The bread, reheated in the oven or microwave, was inedible, the croissants were the same, reheated and dry.
The hotel is adequate at best but the staff are very nice and make up for the poor quality
The room was nice and spacious but noisy ( dogs barking in next yard )
keys were left at reception on our arrival with minimal instruction as to how to find the room which was not easy as some room numbers have fallen off the wall
room was clean but bins were not emptied and there was a minimum number of towels
meal was OK but nothing flash
music accompanying the dinner by the owner was great and his cocktail offer was welcome
breakfast was poor and I would not recommend you to have it
overall a bit too expensive for the price but adequate and did the job
A very good hotel that was excellent value for money. Evening meal was excellent. Staff were very friendly
Very large room
Beautiful establishment and top-notch welcome. The quality of the products for dinner is high. However, even if the staff is very pleasant, the length of the dinner service is much too long, more than two hours for a dinner stopover, which is a shame, but once again, congratulations to the kitchen staff for this delicious dinner.
Very warm welcome, a very attentive and professional boss. A pleasant and very warm place.
The setting stands out with its old stonework and beautifully renovated exposed timber framing. The welcome is excellent, as is the food. In short, a very pleasant stay.
Avoid!! Outdated hotel and more than basic room. Broken bedside lamp, leaking toilet, marks on the bed linen, paper under the bed. When we got back, there were no bath towels, and when we asked for them at reception, we felt like we were asking for something crazy... Poor soundproofing. The room door seems to hold and close by a miracle. When one of the occupants of the floor took a shower or flushed the toilet, it echoed in our bathroom. No minibar or trash can in the room. Very hard mattress, size 140. Very high and uncomfortable pillow. Only positive point: presence of a hairdryer.
The welcome from Alain, the owner, is particularly pleasant; he does his utmost to ensure the well-being of his customers.
superior room was sparsely furnished and charmless
Viva la difference. If you like a bit of fun and can handle the odd quirk you will love this place. The restaurant and food was wonderful and the passionate presentation of the menu was top notch.
Loved the music too thankyou.
